00:00 Amno's political dominance after the 2018 PRN election has led to a split in the party, said an analyst.

00:11 Lee Kwok Tiong from the University of Malaysia Sabah said,

00:14 "Amno's leader can maintain loyalty to the past because no one wants to be part of the opposition."

00:23 However, he said that when Amno won 17 seats in 2018 and Sabah's power was weak,

00:32 his followers who differed opinions easily sided with their leaders, and even joined other parties.

00:40 He said the breakdown in Amno Sabah was getting worse after the Kina Balu move,

00:45 a failed attempt to seize power by Amno Sabah's chairman, Bung Mokhtaradin, to overthrow Sabah's chief minister, Haji Jino, last year.

00:55 O'Isan from the Institute Hal Ehwal Antarbangsa Singapura agreed that the split in Amno Sabah emerged after the party no longer led the state government.

01:06 He said that Amno's backstabbing in the past five wars for personal interests in the country would be a challenge to the party's recovery in Sabah.
