00:00 - Some sad news to report this morning. Lou Gossett Jr. has passed away at the age of 87. He is the first black man to win a supporting actor Oscar for "An Officer and a Gentleman". He also won an Emmy for his role in the miniseries "Roots". Gossett Jr. got his start on Broadway where he made his debut at just 16 years old. He attended New York University on a basketball and drama scholarship and before long was acting and singing on television shows hosted by Ed Sullivan.
