Egg-sized hailstones smash through windscreen

Shocking video shows egg-sized hailstones smashing through a car windscreen in eastern China.

The city of Yiwu in Zhejiang Province was battered by a severe storm on Monday bringing large hailstones measuring up to two inches.

The local weather office issued a red alert, the highest in its colour-coded alert system.

Residents across the city recorded the freak incident and car being pelted by the large hailstones.

According to local reports, it is estimated that the insurance industry will pay more than £10m to vehicle owners involved in this incident.
