00:22 Mart under the pretext of freedom of speech.
00:25 MRCA, which represents the interests of over 550 retail chains in the country, warned
00:31 that the issue could scare off investors as it painted a negative image for business growth
00:36 and sustainability.
00:37 KK Mart has been the subject of boycotts after mistakenly selling socks with the word "Allah"
00:43 at one of its branches.
00:44 KK Mart and the vendor who supplied the socks, Sinjan Changsunjan Berhad, have since apologized
00:49 over the incident.
00:50 Yesterday, KK Mart's founder and director, Chai Ki Kan and Lo Sui Mui, were charged with
00:56 intentionally wounding the religious feelings of Muslims by selling the socks while three
01:01 of Sinjan Chang's top officials were charged with the betting.
