One of Glasgow’s most iconic event spaces is set to be taken over.

00:00 News broke out at the weekend that the East End venue BAD, bad as art and design, is to
00:06 be taken over by the hospitality company behind Blackfriars, Nonacid and Blue Dog.
00:11 Merchant pubs and bars group recently concluded a deal to obtain the event venue and container
00:16 yard from Norrie Innes of Rock DCM who created the space 25 years ago.
00:21 The venue has become a Glasgow institution known for its distinctive arched glass roof.
00:26 The group intends to continue the active roster of music events while adding regular comedy
00:30 nights to the schedule.
00:32 They also plan to open five days a week by the end of April.
00:35 The courtyard will become a food hall with menus from new local food brand Schwarma Boy,
00:39 Snapper Brother Fish, a new seafood concept specialising in oysters and fish finger sandwiches
00:45 alongside Italian and pizza dishes from Nonacid.
00:48 A dedicated wedding venue team has also been appointed to further develop that side of
00:52 the business alongside a new management team and the yard will continue to host food and
00:56 drink market events.
