00:00 In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London.
00:03 However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.
00:25 Are there lots of centres like this around the country?
00:30 Or is what's happening here really quite unique?
00:33 It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family,
00:37 but I've had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me,
00:41 for which I'm so grateful.
00:43 In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London,
00:53 and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous.
00:57 The surgery was successful, however, tests after the operation
01:01 found cancer had been present.
01:03 My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of
01:15 preventative chemotherapy, and I'm now in the early stages of that treatment.
01:20 It's hard to grieve, and it's hard to... It's so shocking.
01:23 It was so tough, and it's really difficult.
01:27 This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing
01:33 everything we can to process and manage this privately.

01:39 It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,
01:56 but most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George,
02:00 Charlotte and Louis in a way that's appropriate for them,
02:04 and to reassure them that I'm going to be OK.
02:07 As I've said to them, I am well, and getting stronger every day
02:11 by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirit.
02:32 Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too,
02:36 as is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you.
02:41 It means so much to us both.
02:43 We hope that you'll understand that as a family,
02:46 we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment.
