Our Sun might be capturing headline after headline as its activity ramps up towards its solar maximum, but that’s nothing compared to what it was capable of when it was younger. Experts say it once sent superflares out into space every couple of days, but while that activity was once thought to prevent life, now some believe it may have ignited it on Earth.
