00:44 The Vatican reveals a controversial 1951 decree rejecting the apparition of the Virgin Mary
00:50 in Lipa Batangas in 1948.
00:52 The announcement was made by the Archdiocese of Lipa.
00:56 Devotees have long claimed the Vatican decree is non-existent, while the Catholic Church
01:00 has declined to publish the document until recently.
01:03 The alleged Lipa apparition made headlines after former anti-graft court Sandigan Bayad
01:07 Justice Harriet Demetrio sued Dominican exorcist priest Father Winston Cabading for, quote,
01:13 "offending religious feelings for discrediting the reported apparition."
01:17 The Vatican ruling was approved in an audience with Pope Pius XII in 1951 and was authenticated
01:23 by the Vatican under Pope Francis.
01:25 The reported apparition has long been a source of tension between the Catholic Church hierarchy
01:29 and the devotees of what they call Our Lady of Lipa.
01:34 ABC News program presenter Sarah Ferguson reveals the behind-the-scenes of her March
01:39 4 interview with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., where he was asked about his family's
01:44 plunder.
01:45 Marcos, after a series of stutters, said his family had supposedly signed "quit claims,"
01:50 giving up claims to assets the government found.
01:52 Ferguson says she had intended the first part of her interview to be about the Philippines'
01:57 relationship with China, while the second part was intended to be about his family's
02:01 scandalous past.
02:02 Ferguson says the Philippine president's staff tried to suppress the interview.
02:06 "From the moment that I mentioned his father, the minders start to talk amongst themselves,
02:11 then they start talking to the producer, trying to get her to shut the interview down."
02:15 "It's showtime, sir, GMA!"
02:21 The Philippines' leading broadcast firm, GMA Network, signs a deal with its former
02:25 competitor, ABS-CBN Corporation, to air the Kapamilia-produced noon show "It's Showtime"
02:30 on its flagship free TV channel 7.
02:33 "It's Showtime" is the Philippines' second-longest-running noontime show.
02:37 The announcement comes after the show's social media accounts posted a video showing
02:41 the symbol of GMA Caposo Channel beside the Kapamilia show's cartoonized first three
02:45 letters.
02:46 "It's Showtime" hosts take to social media to say their piece about the development.
02:51 Vice Ganda, Ann Curtis, Kim Chu, Teddy Corpuz post on X, while Vong Navarro, Jugg Sugweta
02:56 post on Instagram.
02:58 The show earlier aired on Manny V. Pangilinan's TV5 but stopped in July 2023.
03:03 It was replaced by noontime show EAT Bulaga, led by comedians Vic Soto, Tito Soto, and
03:09 Joey De Leon.
03:12 Bangsamoto pop singer Shira's hit song "Celos" is taken down from all online streaming
03:16 platforms following copyright claims from Australian singer-songwriter Lengka.
03:21 The song had gone viral on TikTok and other social media platforms before the takedown.
03:26 In a statement, her agency, AHS Productions, says it voluntarily removed "Celos" from
03:31 all online streaming platforms.
03:33 It acknowledges "Celos" uses the melody of Lengka's 2008 song "Trouble Is a Friend."
03:39 The agency says it is clarifying the legality of the publication of the song and is in contact
03:43 with Lengka's team to make "Celos" an official cover.
03:46 Meantime, Shira reassures her Facebook followers Wednesday, March 20, she is doing okay despite
03:51 the deletion of "Celos."
03:53 As of writing, Shira has 556,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
03:58 Her other songs are still available on the platform.
04:02 The killing of Kilua, a golden retriever, sparks conversations on social media about
04:07 cruelty to animals.
04:09 #JusticeForKilua topped social media trends since Tuesday, with Filipinos sharing the
04:14 news of Kilua's owner, Vina Rachel, who found his lifeless body in a sack.
04:18 Rappler asked social media users for suggestions on how to better protect animals from animal
04:23 abuse.
04:24 Many say animal abusers should get harsher penalties, as stipulated in the Animal Welfare
04:29 Act of 1998.
04:31 At present, violators receive a prison sentence of six months to two years, with a fine ranging
04:36 from P1,000 to P5,000 or both.
04:39 Filipinos online also suggest the government should prioritize programs that require the
