00:40 That people love Yellowstone and we want people to love Palme Royale, so we fought really

00:46 hard for the show to be great.

00:47 I think that's one very clear connection between them.

00:51 Everybody on both shows deeply, deeply cares about what they're doing.

00:57 I mean, the cast, the plot, everything about it, the twists and turns.

01:10 Look, the other night at dinner, we sat down and got her talking.

01:15 Carol's not hard to get talking and it's so special when she goes back and begins to tell

01:20 stories of her arriving in New York City in the 1950s and living in a one-room apartment

01:26 with five other girls on a cot when she lived in her grandmother's house and slept on a

01:31 couch for 20 years.

01:33 You hear these incredible, the iconographic element of who she is, but she is a rare,

01:39 rare, rare being.

01:40 Obviously to be her age, to do the work that she's doing, but the soul that she has and

01:45 the fact that she's signed every single autograph and every single, she's responded to every

01:50 single fan letter she's ever gotten.

01:52 And all the actors had stories of that they'd sent her something from theater camp in 1968

01:59 and they have the t-shirt that she signed to their theater camp, you know, stuff that's

02:03 just, it's like amazing.

02:04 So how many selfies did you get on set?

02:08 I was almost like over the top with them.

02:10 I'd be like, "Hey, Carol, can we?"

02:12 It was fun, yeah.

02:15 I feel like Palm Royale and just Hollywood have these parallels.

02:19 What would you say are the similarities between the two?

02:21 Well, the obvious one is the Oscars, right?

02:23 I mean, Palm Royale, the beach club, the balls, all of it, it is their Oscars and they have

02:29 these weird parties every week to try and figure out like who's the most glamorous,

02:32 who's the, and you know, everyone wants to be a part of it.

02:35 Everyone wants to win the beach ball and that's kind of what the story's about.

02:39 In the Palm Royale case, it's all kind of ridiculous, but there's the same sort of pressure,

02:45 there's the same sort of passion, there's the same sort of, you know, silliness that

02:49 goes into the over the top elements of it.

02:53 And I don't know, it's like, it's the Oscars of Palm Royale, or the Oscars of Palm Beach,

02:57 Florida in the 1960s.

02:58 Now, if you were part of a country club, what would the goss be about you?
