00:19 and future film and television productions.
00:23 "Doing an international or European co-production is the interest of cartoon movie.
00:31 This was one of the reasons why we started 26 years ago with this program because it
00:39 opens borders, it makes films more known.
00:43 It is not only on national level but also on international level."
00:48 The days are organized around artistic and financial pitches for projects currently in
00:53 production.
00:54 There are normally 55 projects from 16 European countries.
01:01 "Adult animation is becoming a tool to tell stories, stories sometimes which are more,
01:09 I will not say easier but more logical to tell into the style of animation as documentary
01:18 or as fiction.
01:20 We see also of course some mixtures of styles with the hybrid and it is really becoming
01:26 a new genre."
01:27 This year, PESTA, a co-production between Norway, Germany and France, won the prestigious
01:33 Euroimages Prize for co-production development, awarded every year at Cartoon Movie.
01:40 It tells of the tragic and improbable love story between Astrid and Pagan Elif.
01:46 Since its first edition in 1999, Cartoon Movie has helped 467 films to find funding, totaling
01:52 over 3 billion euros.
