Wales headlines 7 March: First Minister had ‘genuine concern’ over future of UK

One of the Welsh government’s chief advisors throughout the pandemic has told the ongoing covid inquiry that the First Minister had a genuine, sincerely held concern that the actions of the British Government were a threat to the future of the UK. Mark Drakeford is set to appear before the inquiry next week.

A report into the behaviour of Plaid Cymru Senedd member Rhys ab Owen has found he inappropriately touched and swore at two women while drunk on a night out in June 2021. The Senedd standards commissioner said he felt no remorse, and will be banned from the Welsh Parliament for six weeks.

Wales international Mason Grady has been ordered to pay one thousand four hundred pounds in damages after it was found he was driving at 115 miles per hour on the M4 in October 2023. He will be on the bench for Wales as they take on France on Sunday in the six nations.
