00:00 Thank you to everybody who's been praying for me and saying good things and supporting me during this time in my life.
00:10 It means a lot to me. Thank you so much.
00:12 Sinbad speaking out for the first time since suffering a major stroke four years ago.
00:18 The comedian sharing a heartfelt message to his fans on Instagram and giving an update on his recovery.
00:25 Expect to see more of me soon and don't freak out if you turn around standing right behind you.
00:31 Sinbad, I can't believe you're here. You can't believe it. You better believe it. Miracles happen.
00:39 A lot of people don't believe in God and that's their thing. My thing is this. God will never let me fall to that point.
00:46 Because I believe in helping other people. You know, if you do enough other things for other people, good things come to you.
00:52 As he's recovering, Sinbad's doing just that, being of service.
00:56 Recently, he kicked off a different world's HBCU college tour where cast members from the hit show go to historically black colleges and universities to speak to students about empowerment, education and the show's legacy.
01:10 See, my job is to teach a whole body to be doing the same sport.
01:14 All right, well, I guess I do have a lot to learn.
01:16 Oh, it boggles the mind, but you will get it.
01:19 Sinbad, who played coach Walter Oaks on the show in the late 80s and early 90s, got this reaction when he surprised students at Morehouse College in Atlanta with a virtual appearance.
01:36 And that was so cool. And getting a chance to be on a zoom and say something to the kids is why that the kids even know who I am.
01:44 That's beautiful. The 67 year old captioning the video. Thank you for your prayers, support and positive thoughts.
01:51 They've carried me this far and will see me through to the finish line. It really is a different world out here.
01:58 When I was about seven years old, I knew I wanted I wanted to be famous.
02:02 I wanted to do something that not everyone could do. And I thought it was always my job to make people laugh.
02:08 Sinbad's condition was at one point so severe he was in a medically induced coma and placed on a ventilator.
02:15 His family released a statement around the time of his stroke, saying they were faithful and optimistic that he will bring laughter into our hearts soon.
02:24 Back in 2022, E.T. got an update from one of his close friends about Sinbad being in the rehabilitation process.
02:31 He's in the process of rehabbing from the stroke, learning to, you know, enunciate words and and get his mobility back at this time.
02:41 He's also using this recovery time to encourage those who are facing similar health battles.
02:47 I want to say this to all the people who have emailed me through the Web site.
02:51 Some of you are going through what I'm going through or even worse than me.
02:56 I'm reading these things. I'm going to try to answer as many as I can.
03:01 I pray for you. I understand what it's like. It's rough.
03:06 I never go through that. What was me? You just have to hang in there.
03:09 Wishing you a speedy recovery, Sinbad.
03:12 It means so much when I hear from you all.
03:16 And you tell me, Sinbad, keep going, Sinbad. We're sending prayers. We're praying.
03:23 My family's praying for you. Those words are important and I feel it. I feel those prayers.
