00:00 (dramatic music)
00:01 - At the beginning of my journey, I weighed 360 pounds.
00:05 I was a very depressed person.
00:08 They told me that if I didn't get my weight
00:10 under control, that I was just gonna die young.
00:13 - It was very hard to see what he was going through.
00:17 - My brother, you could always tell
00:18 there was just that inner struggle.
00:19 - So to see him turn this all around.
00:22 - He was doing what 99.99% of people couldn't do.
00:28 - I did not expect him to look like a model.
00:32 - I've lost 180 pounds so far.
00:36 That's half, half the man I used to be.
00:41 Before my journey, I was a very depressed person.
00:50 I never went out, I didn't wanna talk to anybody.
00:54 I was always playing video games, never active.
00:58 Dating life was non-existent because I didn't think
01:01 anybody would ever wanna be with me.
01:02 I wasn't living a quality life.
01:07 I wasn't even living life, really.
01:08 I was adopted, moving around from place to place.
01:16 I felt alone in the world.
01:18 My biological mom wasn't mentally fit to be a parent.
01:24 We got put into the foster care system.
01:29 One day, she just couldn't take the pressure anymore
01:33 and took her life.
01:34 Losing your mom that young,
01:42 your family not stepping up to take you in,
01:46 just made me feel like I was actually not wanted.
01:49 - Hi, honey.
01:54 - What's up?
01:55 - Oh, I'm so glad to see you.
01:56 - When he came to me, it was March 18th, 2004.
02:01 He was 10 and he weighed 187 pounds.
02:08 So he was a round little guy.
02:13 - He would overeat to overcompensate
02:16 for a lot of his deep-rooted emotional issues.
02:20 You can progressively see me get bigger and bigger
02:25 throughout these pictures.
02:26 (sirens blaring)
02:29 - Obesity ran in my family.
02:31 Heart disease ran in my family.
02:33 They told me that if I didn't get my weight under control,
02:35 that I was just gonna die young.
02:38 - He hid in his room.
02:43 It was very hard to see what he was going through
02:46 with his struggles.
02:47 - My brother, he always seemed like a joyful person,
02:54 you know, always like laughing,
02:55 always making goofy faces,
02:57 but at the same time, you could always tell
02:59 there was just that inner struggle.
03:01 - I remember looking in the mirror one day
03:06 and everything around me was just falling apart.
03:09 And I had nothing going for me
03:15 except for a heart attack at a young age.
03:18 It just clicked in my head.
03:20 And from that point on,
03:21 I really just changed my entire life.
03:24 I've lost 180 pounds so far.
03:31 That's half, half the man I used to be.
03:34 Back when I was bigger,
03:41 like this right here,
03:42 I would not have been able to do it
03:44 longer than two or three minutes.
03:46 Now I can comfortably do it maybe 15, 20 minutes.
03:50 - Yo, big Sean. - Hey, how you doing, buddy?
03:51 - Cool, cool, how you doing, man?
03:53 - So I met Chris two years ago.
03:55 You look good, man.
03:56 - That feels good too, it feels natural.
03:58 - Chris would be here in the morning to do his cardio,
04:00 and he'd come in later again in the night.
04:02 To get what Chris has done takes a whole lot of effort.
04:06 He's doing what 99.99% of people couldn't do.
04:12 He's in here, he's dedicated to how he eats,
04:13 he's dedicated to how he works out.
04:16 He's done remarkable things, he really has.
04:18 It is play time.
04:20 (upbeat music)
04:22 This is the hard truth of weight loss.
04:34 Looks good.
04:36 I remember when I first started my weight loss journey
04:43 looking into the mirror,
04:45 I, not for one second did I like the reflection of it.
04:49 I just saw a broken person.
04:52 And now I look at myself and I see progress.
04:56 I see goals, I see what I want out of life.
05:03 It is gonna sound a bit conceited,
05:05 but I'm very proud of myself.
05:07 We're making enchiladas, chicken enchiladas.
05:14 Knowing how to properly nourish yourself
05:16 is very important.
05:17 - It's a family favorite.
05:19 - Yes, low carb tortillas.
05:22 Look at this.
05:24 - Oh my gosh.
05:25 - Is that your nightgown?
05:26 - Am I nightgown?
05:27 - I want one as a nightgown, do you have extras?
05:29 I want one.
05:29 (laughing)
05:32 I did not expect him to look like a model or study,
05:37 so handsome.
05:39 It's like, he also is so buff.
05:45 The metamorphosis that he went through,
05:48 you know, it was like, you know, like the caterpillar.
05:51 He's just beautiful.
05:52 And we don't know what his life would have been like
05:56 if he would have stayed like that.
05:57 - You wouldn't recognize him down the street
05:59 if you saw him.
06:00 I mean, it's literally half of his body.
06:03 And it's his drive that really inspires people
06:07 and inspired me.
06:08 - Now his younger brother Sebastian's gotten it,
06:12 and he's lost 30 pounds.
06:13 You know, he's my big bro and he's my inspiration,
06:16 and that I can't wait to see where he goes
06:18 further in this journey.
06:20 - Dude, you look good, oh my gosh.
06:24 Mom was like, have you seen him lately?
06:25 Turn around.
06:26 Dang, boy, dang, you're looking good.
06:31 To everybody that wants to transform their body
06:33 and transform their life, it is possible.
06:37 - Looking good, man.
06:38 I like that.
06:39 - The most surprising thing I found in myself
06:42 throughout this journey is actually discovering
06:44 who I am, what I love.
06:46 Not just a visual transformation,
06:51 it's a life transformation.
06:52 - Would you have a girlfriend now?
07:01 - A girlfriend would be cool, but no, right now I'm single.
07:04 Completely single.
07:05 - I did meet a girl.
07:09 Her name is Diani.
07:11 We've been dating since July now.
07:14 She's just so funny and great,
07:16 and I feel like I could truly be myself around her.
