00:02 Following the new declaration of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.
00:06 in his aspiration that the economic provisions of the Constitution
00:10 for the development of the country will be amended
00:13 the Leader of the House of Representatives assured that they will
00:16 pass the Resolution of Both Houses No. 7
00:19 to allow for the economic charter change.
00:22 According to House Majority Leader Manix Dalipe,
00:25 the discussion of the House Committee of the Whole in the RBH-7 was only held on Monday
00:30 because some resource persons were not yet available to be invited.
00:34 But the public can expect that they will be given sufficient attention
00:39 and that it will be passed soon.
00:42 We will not be only conducting one hearing per week.
00:46 The plan is to hold at least three per week.
00:49 We are so concentrated in trying to help this country
00:57 especially in amending those restrictive economic provisions of the Constitution
01:03 and also with the orders of the President, President Bongbong Marcos,
01:09 that the Senate take the lead and we follow suit.
01:13 Just to assure you, we are not short-cutting.
01:16 In fact, we are just doing a repeat performance
01:20 because we have done this repeatedly.
01:24 According to House Deputy Speaker J.J. Suarez,
01:27 through the House Committee of the Whole,
01:30 all districts in the country will have representation in the discussion
01:35 and they are expecting that the most important thing to do in the Constitution
01:39 is to pass it.
01:41 All 309 members of Congress participate
01:47 and let us open the doors to everybody's ideas, opinions, suggestions, topics,
01:55 violent reactions, if there may be,
01:58 just so that we can show that there is indeed truthful discussion from all sectors,
02:06 from all regions, from all districts, from all provinces
02:10 represented by their respective congressmen duly elected by their constituents.
02:17 The other congressman called on the Senate to look at the resolution of both Houses No. 6
02:26 which is the same as the RBH-7
02:28 to completely remove the economic chacha between the two prisons.
02:33 Here in the House, we're always ready.
02:35 The problem has always been with the Senate.
02:37 I think that's generally the point of our President.
02:40 Let's stop making the pronouncements.
02:42 Let's start the debates so that we can deliver something for the Filipino people
02:47 and that will be a lasting legacy not only of President Bongbong Marcos
02:52 but also of the two congresses, the 19th Congress and the Senate in this administration.
02:58 Aside from the issue of economic charter change,
03:02 the lawmakers are discussing next week the bills about the additional salary
03:09 that is being allocated to our Filipino workers.
03:12 The best thing to do is to finally hear the several pending bills here in Congress.
03:21 It ranges from P150, I think up to P350.
03:27 That's the range of pending bills here in Congress.
03:31 Mela Lasmoras for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
