Taylor Swift performs to record 96,000 fans at Melbourne’s MCG Stadium

After more than 600,000 tickets sold, months of excitement, and even a national bead shortage- Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Era’s Tour has finally begun.

00:08 MCG in Melbourne on Friday night to hear Taylor Swift's music.

00:13 Eager and emotional fans lined up from early in the afternoon to get inside as soon as

00:17 they could, admiring each other's colourful and sparkly outfits and trading friendship

00:22 bracelets.

00:23 So, so excited.

00:24 It's been a long time coming.

00:25 I've got all the friendship bracelets I've made for the past three months.

00:29 I'm going tonight and tomorrow night in Melbourne and then I'm going next weekend in Sydney

00:33 on Sunday and Sunday.

00:34 Then I'm going to London in June.

00:37 She's a really strong woman and she stands up for what she is.

00:41 Millions of people of course tried to get tickets to the ERA's tour and millions of

00:45 people missed out.

00:47 Those unlucky ones gathered in Yarra Park with picnic rugs and snacks to be part of

00:51 the atmosphere and hear what they could of the music.

00:54 Just as Taylor started singing, those fans ran towards the MCG doors to hear as much

01:00 as they could and get as close as they could to the superstar.

01:03 They were quickly moved away by MCG staff so that they weren't blocking any of the exits

01:10 Taylor will play two more shows this weekend in Melbourne and then four shows in Sydney
