00:00 Now it's the sit down.
00:01 Five questions with Tamron Hall.
00:03 Hi Tamron.
00:04 The Tamron Hall show is in its fifth season.
00:07 How did all the previous seasons
00:09 lead you to this moment here?
00:11 - First season, you're trying to figure out who you are.
00:14 The second season, we spent the entire season at my home,
00:17 like everyone else, Zoom and in my basement, making it work.
00:22 And now we are at the point that, you know,
00:25 we had Frankie Grande on.
00:26 He was talking about being nominated for a GLAAD award.
00:29 And we were together last year,
00:31 both nominated at the GLAAD awards.
00:33 And he said, you know, I feel like I'm at the pinnacle.
00:35 That doesn't mean I don't have other goals,
00:37 but you start to feel like all of the hard work pays off
00:41 or is paying off.
00:42 And so that's how I feel.
00:44 I feel that we are at the pinnacle
00:46 of where the hard work starts to really pay off
00:49 and you start to see the appreciation and you feel it.
00:52 - I saw that TikTok video with Johnny and Raul
00:55 and your GLAM team always gets you together.
00:58 Who or what has been inspiring you lately?
01:00 - I am trying my best to do some kind of workout.
01:03 So I saw this Jennifer Aniston commercial
01:05 and girl got me doing P-volve.
01:07 So I've been doing this P-volve workout
01:10 inspired by Jennifer Aniston.
01:12 So by the time I'm done scooting and pushing and pulling,
01:16 my hair is curly, curly.
01:18 And so now we do a relaxer
01:20 so that it can stay laid down the way it does.
01:23 Johnny has coined this look, the Betty Boop.
01:25 That's the, he said, is the Betty Boop version of the pixie.
01:28 - So Valentine's Day is coming up
01:30 and I actually made an appearance on your show
01:32 on a Valentine's Day segment.
01:34 Do you or hubby celebrate Valentine's Day?
01:36 Do you stay in?
01:37 Do you go out?
01:38 - Everything is prefixed on Valentine's Day.
01:40 So I have asked my husband to either cook something
01:45 or figure out how to get it in the house.
01:47 I love just sitting and watching a movie
01:50 and enjoying my time with them.
01:54 My son will probably make a little Valentine's Day card,
01:57 but I am such a foodie and I am so serious about my food.
02:00 I cannot eat at a restaurant
02:01 where you're gonna tell me all five courses
02:03 and I have to cook.
02:04 So we lean out of the reservation
02:06 and lean into the cozy home thing.
02:09 - Let's talk about your son, Moses.
02:11 He's turning five this year.
02:13 How crazy is that?
02:15 - It's so crazy.
02:16 He is such a little man.
02:18 We spent Christmas in Jamaica
02:21 and every day my son says,
02:23 "Mommy, we're gonna go to Jamaica.
02:25 I'm ready to go to Jamaica."
02:26 We passed the tunnel because we flew out of Newark.
02:29 He sees the tunnel.
02:30 "Mom, that's the way you go to Jamaica."
02:32 I'm like, "Is it?
02:33 You wanna go to Jamaica, Queens?"
02:35 'Cause I don't know why he's an adventurer.
02:37 He loves traveling.
02:39 He's incredibly curious and just a funny guy.
02:43 - How would you describe the stage with him?
02:45 What kind of milestones is he hitting lately?
02:47 - You know what?
02:48 He loves trains.
02:49 He is such a train person.
02:50 Every time I come home from work,
02:52 he'll say, "Mom, come let's build a train together.
02:55 We're gonna build a train to Brooklyn."
02:57 He is so into trains.
03:00 And now we have,
03:02 I live on Amazon and the container store website
03:05 looking for containers for all of the tracks.
03:08 I don't know how many.
03:09 The other day, we built a route that had nine bridges.
03:14 And I have to count.
03:17 We're gonna be,
03:18 the little old lady who lived in a shoe,
03:19 I'm gonna be the little old lady who lived in train tracks.
03:22 - What's the one thing about balancing work and motherhood
03:24 that surprised you the most?
03:26 - Oh, how even the hardest things
03:30 when your child is around are easy.
03:33 Like he really,
03:34 and I've heard people say this
03:35 and you hear people talk about it all the time,
03:38 but man, it just,
03:41 I can have struggles or,
03:43 and we all do, right?
03:45 And I can have uncertain moments
03:48 and worries about him and his future.
03:51 I'm a late to the party mom.
03:52 I'm a 53 year old, four year old.
03:54 And I get, like anyone,
03:55 they get caught up in your head
03:56 about what's his life gonna be like
03:57 and I wanna be,
03:58 and then I just see him,
03:59 and like this morning,
04:01 he just made me laugh.
04:03 He woke up, you know,
04:04 he was coming out of his room,
04:05 "Mom, I need water."
04:06 And it just,
04:07 I just had to chuckle.
04:08 See this little old man walking out of his room
04:10 and I'm very lucky to be able to be a part of his journey.
04:14 - Finally, we're gonna put 10 seconds on the clock.
04:16 Pick any one of your projects
04:18 and promote it for the next 10 seconds.
04:19 Ready? Go.
04:20 - I'm the author of the new book,
04:23 "Watch Where They Hide."
04:24 It's the second installment
04:25 in the Jordan Manning crying series.
04:28 This one is juicy.
04:29 It's a thriller.
04:30 You won't see it coming.
04:31 And if you can guess the ending,
04:32 I'll buy you dinner.
04:33 There you have it.
04:35 - Taryn, thank you so much for being here.
04:36 - I adore you.
04:37 And thank you, gotta come back and see us.
