00:00:05 Can you say hard hats, folks?
00:00:07 Hard hats, lunch pails, steel tool, boots.
00:00:09 Anything short of a championship this year is a failure.
00:00:12 Look at this boomer right here.
00:00:13 You've just got so much talent here.
00:00:16 Somebody said we need to apologize for Jamie.
00:00:18 Can I call you John?
00:00:19 What are we apologizing for?
00:00:21 What did we say?
00:00:21 What did we do?
00:00:22 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:00:29 Jamie.
00:00:31 Jonathan.
00:00:32 What's up, buddy?
00:00:33 How are you, buddy?
00:00:34 Good to see you again.
00:00:35 How are you?
00:00:35 Good to see you as well.
00:00:36 Did I miss the last show?
00:00:37 Did you miss the last show?
00:00:38 What happened?
00:00:39 Did we both--
00:00:39 You missed the last-- you were at the game, John.
00:00:41 Why don't you tell everybody how much fun you had at the game?
00:00:43 Oh, yeah.
00:00:43 You went to the Memphis game.
00:00:45 I did.
00:00:46 That was the last game.
00:00:47 It's been that long, huh?
00:00:49 Sunday.
00:00:49 Yeah, I missed--
00:00:50 I missed, I think, one or two before that.
00:00:54 I did.
00:00:54 I brought the whole fam.
00:00:57 Yeah.
00:00:57 Excuse me.
00:00:58 You saw a game.
00:01:00 You saw a good game.
00:01:01 You know what?
00:01:02 It's almost better that that was the game I brought the entire family to instead
00:01:06 of one that I'd actually be into and want to--
00:01:10 Yeah, get angry.
00:01:13 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:01:13 Just no more bathroom trips.
00:01:15 Sorry.
00:01:16 This is it.
00:01:17 Yeah, it was fine.
00:01:18 I was like, it was fine.
00:01:20 It was good.
00:01:20 It was good.
00:01:21 It was like a field trip.
00:01:22 Yeah.
00:01:23 I heard you saw Bobby and Joe Sway.
00:01:25 I was right near Bobby and Joe Sway.
00:01:27 Our guy Rob from Portland.
00:01:29 I know you gave him a shout out.
00:01:30 I did.
00:01:31 Yeah, which was great.
00:01:32 And his two daughters.
00:01:34 Yeah.
00:01:35 I want to say Reeve and Charlotte, but I don't fully remember.
00:01:38 Did you and Marcus, like, did you guys lock eyes?
00:01:41 Did anything like that go down?
00:01:42 You had biggest feuds.
00:01:43 No, but I would have liked to--
00:01:44 you know, I'll tell you this, because I didn't get my--
00:01:47 we'll get into this game.
00:01:48 Obviously, we're going to get into Tillman.
00:01:50 We're going to get into any and other potential trades.
00:01:55 Bobby's geeked up.
00:01:56 He's got a laundry list of names that Jimmy and I
00:01:58 are going to have to Google.
00:02:00 I've got my Google open.
00:02:02 I'll tell you this, man.
00:02:03 Sadiq Bey fits nicely into that grant TPE.
00:02:09 Yeah, you think he'll do that?
00:02:10 Oh, I don't know.
00:02:11 Will they pay?
00:02:12 I know Joe Sway is frigging schwing.
00:02:15 You know, he's all set for that.
00:02:17 Joe Sway is going to take a couple of victory laps
00:02:19 if it happens.
00:02:21 He'll be a really happy guy.
00:02:22 I honestly really do like Marcus Smart.
00:02:26 I didn't get a chance to say it, and I always have.
00:02:28 I just like the guy.
00:02:30 No, I mean, I just like the guy.
00:02:32 I like that he's here.
00:02:33 I like, you know, that--
00:02:35 I like how much he loves being here.
00:02:37 I like that he likes us.
00:02:39 I like that he likes us.
00:02:40 I really do, because not everybody does.
00:02:44 No.
00:02:45 And I know Bey isn't that good, and people
00:02:46 are saying it in the chat.
00:02:47 But he's really good against the Celtics,
00:02:49 and that always changes your perception.
00:02:51 No doubt about that.
00:02:52 And I actually think he's gettable,
00:02:53 because he isn't that good.
00:02:55 Stay on topic, John.
00:02:55 This is Marcus Smart, man.
00:02:56 I love Marcus.
00:02:57 I really do.
00:02:58 And it was, you know, it was nice seeing him there.
00:03:00 I'm glad he got his due.
00:03:02 I'm glad, you know, people gave it up the whole game for him,
00:03:06 and that was really nice.
00:03:07 We liked that he was named a hero among us, too.
00:03:09 We thought that was a nice touch.
00:03:10 He's totally deserving.
00:03:11 Totally deserving of all the love and adulation.
00:03:14 There's no reason to feel anything but positive vibes
00:03:17 toward Marcus Smart, even for the people who
00:03:19 wanted to trade him or didn't think he was the answer.
00:03:22 And that-- we're going to talk about what the Tillman minutes
00:03:25 also mean for Luke Cornett and Nemus Keita,
00:03:31 and whether Tillman slides into the--
00:03:33 whether he slides right into the rotation ahead of one
00:03:36 of those guys, or if he's basically
00:03:38 just defensive Mike Muscala.
00:03:40 So, you know, we'll see.
00:03:42 How dare you?
00:03:44 How dare you?
00:03:44 Now we all have to drink because you said Mike Muscala.
00:03:48 So yeah, number one takeaway from tonight's game,
00:03:51 which is where we're going to start.
00:03:53 One last thing on Marcus Smart.
00:03:54 I think he's the type of guy that I think, like,
00:03:57 when he retires, I feel like we'll
00:03:59 see him around the garden.
00:04:00 Like, there's some players that you just
00:04:02 know you're going to see him around.
00:04:03 Like, they'll remain part of the franchise
00:04:05 and part of the community.
00:04:06 I think Marcus Smart is one of those guys.
00:04:08 Maybe he ends up back on the team as a player at some point.
00:04:10 I have no idea.
00:04:11 But I can tell you, post-career, I
00:04:13 think Marcus Smart, because of everything
00:04:15 he's done in the community and within the organization,
00:04:18 I think that he'll be somebody that you
00:04:20 can expect to see around town.
00:04:21 Smart is a Celtics lifer, even if he's not here now.
00:04:24 I do wonder if he gets traded somewhere where he can actually
00:04:27 make an impact.
00:04:29 So that'll be interesting to see.
00:04:32 I don't think so, because I think they want to run it back.
00:04:34 They think they can have something for next year.
00:04:36 I hate that--
00:04:38 here's the thing.
00:04:39 You trade players, that's fine.
00:04:40 I hate trading good players to hell.
00:04:44 You know, like, you just hate seeing them there.
00:04:47 When Horford was languishing wherever the hell he was,
00:04:49 Rocket Houston, he wasn't playing.
00:04:51 Yeah, OKC, yeah, OKC.
00:04:54 That stuff's sad, even though the Celtics didn't trade him.
00:04:56 It's just weird to see good players just kind of waste away
00:04:59 and wither away.
00:05:00 You've only got so many good years left,
00:05:02 and you go somewhere, and you're absolutely just
00:05:04 pissing one away.
00:05:05 That stinks.
00:05:06 So actually, I wouldn't mind it if he gets--
00:05:08 I actually thought Rob was going to get traded as well,
00:05:10 and I was going to kind of be curious to see where he goes
00:05:13 and what kind of impact he would make.
00:05:15 But a couple of things let's get onto tonight,
00:05:18 and we'll circle back to a lot of other stuff in a little bit.
00:05:22 But ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly Tatum game.
00:05:26 Not going to harp on it forever, but the takeaway
00:05:28 is they won because everyone else was good.
00:05:33 And Brown was kind of mixed bag sort of impact here,
00:05:36 but I mean, Tatum was gruesomely bad all game long.
00:05:40 That step back is going to be-- that step back three
00:05:44 is going to be the end of it.
00:05:45 It really is.
00:05:47 That's going to be the thing that finally just sets me
00:05:50 over the edge.
00:05:51 Yep, and that's going to be it.
00:05:53 I can't take it.
00:05:54 And I think they were giving Tatum some attention early.
00:05:57 I think they were sending some doubles his way,
00:05:59 and he kind of ended up not going to the basket
00:06:01 and leaned into that other stuff.
00:06:02 But everyone else was so frigging good,
00:06:04 starting with your man KP and our man Derek White.
00:06:09 Yeah.
00:06:11 Derek White's also my man, but KP certainly is a guy that--
00:06:14 we've always been white guys, right?
00:06:16 Yeah, yeah, from the start.
00:06:17 Definitely from the start.
00:06:19 And Al, Al's going to get his flowers, particularly
00:06:22 on the defensive end.
00:06:24 Al stood out to me first and foremost tonight.
00:06:26 I thought he had a nice little hot streak
00:06:29 offensively for them.
00:06:31 The three, he had a nice-- what was it?
00:06:34 It was a good dunk, good breakaway dunk,
00:06:36 and then he had the three pointer.
00:06:37 He was feeling it.
00:06:38 He turned the clock back for a stretch tonight,
00:06:40 and I don't know what his final line was,
00:06:42 but I know I think he had eight rebounds
00:06:44 and double digit points.
00:06:47 Good game for Al.
00:06:50 Porzingis, they were playing bully ball with Porzingis
00:06:52 tonight.
00:06:53 They were trying to get him in mismatches, obviously.
00:06:55 Any time he saw Trey Young, it was just over him
00:06:58 every single time.
00:07:00 That's most of the league, but certainly tonight
00:07:02 was another example of that.
00:07:04 And so I thought those two stood out.
00:07:05 And who am I missing?
00:07:07 Oh, yeah, your guy White.
00:07:09 White had a good solid all-around game as well.
00:07:12 Brown was quiet in the second half, I thought,
00:07:14 but didn't really stand out to me one way or the other.
00:07:17 And then you already mentioned Tatum.
00:07:19 Just-- I don't even know what to say about it,
00:07:24 because when it does--
00:07:26 it falls just enough where he's got to just keep taking them.
00:07:28 So it's like, what are you going to do?
00:07:31 You'll go crazy, and you probably
00:07:34 are going crazy getting angry about his shot selection.
00:07:37 I do think that-- and I know we had a comment earlier,
00:07:40 say someone needs to bully him into going to the rim more.
00:07:43 He's so good when he goes to the rim.
00:07:45 I don't even know why he needs to be bullied.
00:07:47 He has some-- he's developed some really good moves
00:07:52 on his way to the basket.
00:07:53 His ball handling's been better.
00:07:54 He seems smoother, and he is stronger.
00:07:57 So you would think that he would go to the rim more.
00:07:59 But you know what, John?
00:08:00 It's not as pretty.
00:08:01 It's not as pretty as the step-back fade-away,
00:08:04 all-net three-pointer.
00:08:05 WWKD.
00:08:08 What would Kobe do?
00:08:09 Right.
00:08:11 Kobe would take that shot, and a lot of times miss that shot.
00:08:14 People don't want to talk about that.
00:08:16 But not the most efficient shooter, Kobe.
00:08:20 Rest in peace.
00:08:22 I'm getting reports from the press room
00:08:24 Joe is being normal tonight.
00:08:26 Oh, OK.
00:08:28 Like, eerily--
00:08:30 There goes that segment.
00:08:32 Here's my eerily normal.
00:08:35 Really answering questions.
00:08:36 Can you be that?
00:08:38 Not sure.
00:08:38 Is it weird when someone's not weird?
00:08:42 That makes me nervous.
00:08:46 We're just going to take it.
00:08:49 Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
00:08:51 We got to give him his--
00:08:54 You wonder if someone tapped him on the show and was like, hey,
00:08:57 Joe.
00:08:57 He was on the sports hub earlier today, too,
00:09:03 and I thought he was fairly normal, too.
00:09:05 So maybe he should sit down with me one more day.
00:09:08 Are you a God-fearing man?
00:09:10 Right.
00:09:10 How much do you make?
00:09:12 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:13 Who'd you vote for?
00:09:14 Who'd you vote for?
00:09:15 So Israel, Palestine, where do you land?
00:09:22 Right.
00:09:23 No, Joe.
00:09:24 Leave it alone.
00:09:25 Leave it alone.
00:09:26 Yeah, Joe Vought is malfunctioning.
00:09:29 Normal for Joe, normal for--
00:09:33 You're going to get weird Joe, I think, more likely after a poor
00:09:36 game than a good game.
00:09:38 A poor Zingus game.
00:09:41 Hi, Sherrod.
00:09:42 No, not a poor Zingus.
00:09:43 Ellis, can you hear me OK?
00:09:45 Yes.
00:09:45 Hey, Sherrod.
00:09:46 What up, dude?
00:09:47 What's up, man?
00:09:50 Just letting you know.
00:09:51 Coming up with ways to hype up Mr. Poor Zingus?
00:09:54 Always.
00:09:55 We were just-- we got word from the press room
00:09:58 that Joe was being normal, and that made us concerned.
00:10:02 Yeah.
00:10:03 Yeah.
00:10:05 Why?
00:10:06 We got worried.
00:10:08 No, I mean, why is he being normal?
00:10:10 That's--
00:10:11 I don't know, Sherrod, by the way, you look--
00:10:13 Broken clock.
00:10:14 --and smell great.
00:10:14 And I bet you smell great, too.
00:10:16 I can't-- I don't know that, but--
00:10:19 I bet she smells great.
00:10:20 Yeah.
00:10:21 I've never known him not to.
00:10:22 You look like you smell great.
00:10:23 Yeah.
00:10:24 A couple guys in the press famously don't smell great,
00:10:27 but Sherrod's not one of those guys.
00:10:30 Jimmy, you're putting people's business on the streets
00:10:32 like that.
00:10:32 I'm not saying, ew.
00:10:34 There's a couple guys out there, but I think we all--
00:10:37 we've all been in the scrum.
00:10:38 Yeah, yeah, we've all been in the scrum.
00:10:40 Sometimes--
00:10:41 Not you, Sherrod.
00:10:42 Sometimes we don't want to get a little closer.
00:10:45 Right.
00:10:46 You got to pick and choose where you fight.
00:10:48 So how much have you guys talked about Poor Zingus?
00:10:50 Really nothing.
00:10:51 We haven't really talked about anything yet.
00:10:53 I talked about Marcus Smart, my children, Xavier Tillman.
00:10:59 The fact that Jimmy and I are probably going to call him
00:11:01 Peanut Tillman a lot.
00:11:05 He is a grown ass man.
00:11:07 Sherrod, how about this?
00:11:08 What jumped out at you in this game?
00:11:10 What's the first thing?
00:11:11 Who was it?
00:11:11 Poor Zingus.
00:11:12 I mean, Poor Zingus, yeah.
00:11:13 I mean, he was the one guy among the top tier players who
00:11:17 looked like a top tier player.
00:11:18 Although Derek White did what--
00:11:20 I've been championing for him to be the go-to guy
00:11:22 in the fourth quarter, and this was another example of why
00:11:25 Derek White means so much.
00:11:26 Well, Poor Zingus was the story of this game.
00:11:28 They had no answer for him.
00:11:30 The one thing that was a little perplexing,
00:11:32 and I don't think they'll get into it in a postgame
00:11:34 because Joe being normal probably won't touch it,
00:11:37 but they were getting pretty much anything
00:11:39 they wanted at the rim.
00:11:41 And they wound up shooting something ridiculous.
00:11:43 For most of the game, they were shooting like 70%, 80% on twos
00:11:45 and like 40% or 30% on threes.
00:11:49 And it just raises the idea, maybe we
00:11:51 should look for more twos, as though they can't guard us
00:11:54 when we're shooting twos.
00:11:55 That's not sexy.
00:11:56 What is that?
00:11:59 It doesn't get the people going.
00:12:02 No.
00:12:03 If you want to knock normal Joe off his orbit,
00:12:06 that's exactly the type of thing that's going to do it, Sharad.
00:12:10 Which is why I'm with you and not Joe.
00:12:12 [LAUGHTER]
00:12:13 Because it's just-- they're just--
00:12:17 I think more times than not, Joe is
00:12:18 spot on about the three ball and its power as a weapon for them.
00:12:22 But every now and then, they'll have a game
00:12:23 where you're looking around, and you're like, layup, layup.
00:12:28 Miss three, miss three.
00:12:30 Can we go back to that thing, that layup thing again?
00:12:33 Because that was kind of working for you.
00:12:35 But listen, it was a good win.
00:12:38 This was a bad Hawks team.
00:12:40 Guys are hurt, injured, and they just handled their business.
00:12:44 I mean, you just got to win these games and move on.
00:12:46 That's really what this was about.
00:12:48 Yeah, it was a do your job game.
00:12:50 And again, the one thing that we said here is you get a good--
00:12:54 you play-- you get good contributions
00:12:58 from some of your other guys when Tatum has the type of game
00:13:03 that he had tonight, which was poor.
00:13:06 They're shooting 70%.
00:13:07 When Brown disappeared, I think had one shot
00:13:09 attempt in the entire second half.
00:13:10 He was incredibly efficient.
00:13:11 Yeah, it was weird.
00:13:13 And he was going to the basket, and he was not just
00:13:15 relying on threes.
00:13:16 He took a couple, and that was it.
00:13:18 But he's 7 for 9 from 2, 6 rebounds, 6 assists.
00:13:23 I think the Celtics had four guys, five guys with six--
00:13:26 four guys with six assists or more, 33 as a team.
00:13:29 They're moving the ball.
00:13:30 They were getting where they wanted to go.
00:13:32 They could get to the basket.
00:13:33 They were shooting extremely well at the rim.
00:13:35 We saw All-Star Al made an appearance.
00:13:38 Yeah, he did.
00:13:39 They shot 49 friggin' threes.
00:13:41 Right, right.
00:13:42 Yeah, it was just a weird game like that
00:13:48 because it was so blatantly obvious
00:13:52 that they should just keep going to the rim
00:13:54 that when they didn't, it was just like even
00:13:56 the most diehard shoot the three, shoot the three fan
00:13:59 was like, they should probably go to the rim a little bit
00:14:02 more because this Atlanta Hawks team had zero rim protection.
00:14:06 There was one point in the game where Tatum was matched up
00:14:10 with Trae Young.
00:14:11 And we know Trae Young is not the most defensive-minded
00:14:14 player, but he did something that I haven't seen really
00:14:17 in a while.
00:14:18 He literally looked at Tatum and did not move,
00:14:21 only accept his head, swiveled as Tatum went past him
00:14:26 for an easy bucket.
00:14:26 And I'm like, can we get just even to pretend
00:14:31 like you want to put a little effort in at that end
00:14:32 of the floor?
00:14:34 No, not what he does, not who he is.
00:14:38 But he's an-- but everyone wants to talk about how much
00:14:40 he's an All-Star.
00:14:42 And then you got a guy like Derek White, who plays
00:14:44 like an All-Star should play.
00:14:47 So what I will say to that effect,
00:14:49 and I don't disagree with it, is you can't be that bad
00:14:57 at defense and still be considered an elite player.
00:14:59 That's the problem.
00:15:00 I mean, unless you are like Steph Curry during his God
00:15:05 phase, you know?
00:15:06 And be on a team like the Warriors that's
00:15:08 so good everywhere else and has such a good system
00:15:11 that they can comfortably hide you all game long.
00:15:14 But when you're on a team that doesn't play defense pretty
00:15:17 much one through five, and you are not only a small guy who's
00:15:22 going to constantly be hunted on switches and mismatches,
00:15:25 who also gives next to zero effort, that counts--
00:15:29 that's a lot of strikes against you.
00:15:30 So I do think it knocks him down several pegs.
00:15:34 Jimmy and I are offense first guys always,
00:15:37 in terms of like that's the hardest thing to do.
00:15:39 And guys who can create their own shots and make buckets
00:15:42 are worth--
00:15:45 that's worth a lot more than a guy who's just--
00:15:47 Good offense beats good defense.
00:15:49 But it's also just it's a premium skill
00:15:51 that not everybody possesses, right?
00:15:53 But he's so bad there.
00:15:55 He really is, and he just doesn't care about it.
00:15:57 And that's always going to be the thing with him.
00:16:00 But don't you think that they need
00:16:01 to put better defenders around him so that--
00:16:06 Well, I mean, that was part of the thinking when they went out
00:16:10 and drafted DeAndre Hunter.
00:16:11 He was supposed to be this utility defender who
00:16:14 can defend one through five if called upon.
00:16:16 And he hasn't been healthy enough to actually get that out
00:16:20 of him.
00:16:20 And when he has been healthy, he's been meh.
00:16:22 But he made some plays tonight against Sam Houser,
00:16:26 which is no surprise because he knows Sam better than most
00:16:29 guys he played with him.
00:16:30 So the Atlanta Hawks are a hot mess.
00:16:34 But the Celtics, I like the fact that they came in here
00:16:36 and handled their business.
00:16:37 They didn't really play with their food too much,
00:16:39 except the last four or five minutes
00:16:41 when it got down to like a five-point game
00:16:43 and Atlanta had a chance to make it a one possession game.
00:16:46 Sadiq Bey missed the one--
00:16:48 probably one of his best looks all game long.
00:16:51 And then Porzingis hit that shot with 18 seconds to go
00:16:54 that just put the game away.
00:16:55 But it was a good win.
00:16:58 It was a good win.
00:16:58 I want to see you guys talk about Tillman.
00:17:00 I like Tillman.
00:17:01 You haven't yet.
00:17:01 You better get there.
00:17:02 I would like--
00:17:03 OK, I'll wait.
00:17:03 I'll wait.
00:17:04 If you like him, I'm going to play a normal Joe bite.
00:17:08 I had it and I lost it.
00:17:10 Ahmed, what happened to it?
00:17:12 I went and looked and didn't see it either, actually.
00:17:16 It was there.
00:17:18 It was there and then it wasn't there.
00:17:20 I was just going to go to it.
00:17:21 Anyway, we'll get to it in a minute.
00:17:24 Have you seen much of Tillman?
00:17:26 In the past, not so much this year,
00:17:28 but since he's been in the league,
00:17:29 I've seen him play half a dozen times.
00:17:31 He's a physical, strong, just the kind of guy
00:17:35 that you don't have on this roster right now,
00:17:37 if we're being frank about it.
00:17:39 They don't have a guy that you can legitimately
00:17:41 say in that front court is a tough guy, other than Al Horford.
00:17:44 But I'm talking about--
00:17:45 Grant without the shot?
00:17:46 He's Grant without the shot, without the mouth,
00:17:49 without the annoying element that he brings.
00:17:53 He's about that business.
00:17:55 He's a physical guy.
00:17:56 He's cut from the same cloth as Draymond Green
00:17:58 from the standpoint of just being tough.
00:18:00 Those Sparty bigs, that's who they are.
00:18:03 They're not punks.
00:18:04 And I think he's a guy that, when
00:18:07 I look at what they gave up, they gave up an end of the bench
00:18:10 to Marsh Stevens, a couple of second round
00:18:12 picks for an eighth grader and an 11th grader currently.
00:18:15 And they got a guy who is going to be
00:18:18 a situational rotation guy.
00:18:20 Like, if they're playing a team that's physical,
00:18:22 he's a guy that you can throw out there for five or 10
00:18:24 minutes and feel comfortable and confident that he's not
00:18:27 going to back down or he's not--
00:18:29 he's going to give you something.
00:18:31 And that's, at this point, when you try to win a championship,
00:18:34 you want as many guys who can give you
00:18:36 one great game in the playoffs and help you get a win.
00:18:39 And that, to me, that is how he's going
00:18:41 to earn his keep with Boston.
00:18:43 Give them one game where they need you to play at your best,
00:18:48 and that gets you over the hump and gets you past that game.
00:18:51 Yeah, go ahead.
00:18:53 So I poured over the YouTube highlight reel.
00:18:56 Extensive research.
00:18:57 As I've known-- been known to do whenever there's
00:19:00 a player that the team acquires that I have no idea who he is.
00:19:04 And I will say, this guy's--
00:19:08 Brad did it again.
00:19:09 This guy's a beast.
00:19:10 This guy's unbelievable.
00:19:11 And you know, Jimmy, the one thing
00:19:12 that you probably saw when you watched his clips,
00:19:15 although the clips may have--
00:19:15 I saw everything.
00:19:16 He doesn't score.
00:19:17 He is not a guy that's looking to get buckets.
00:19:20 Jimmy, Jimmy, this is the problem with highlight clips.
00:19:23 This is the problem.
00:19:24 I saw a lot of clips of him scoring, Shiraz.
00:19:27 So you tell me he doesn't score.
00:19:28 He scores 17 points all season, and they show you
00:19:30 all 17 points he scored.
00:19:31 And now you think he's a scorer.
00:19:33 He is not a scorer, Jimmy.
00:19:34 He is not going to get you buckets other than maybe
00:19:37 putbacks.
00:19:37 But on YouTube, he scored.
00:19:39 He's a YouTube scorer.
00:19:40 That's what we'll call-- we'll call him a top tier elite
00:19:43 YouTube scorer.
00:19:44 He scored more than 17 points this year.
00:19:46 Throw some respect on my guy, X's name.
00:19:48 By the way, they call him X in Memphis.
00:19:51 I want to say this.
00:19:51 He doesn't need to score, so throw that aside.
00:19:54 One thing I will say that I did notice, though,
00:19:57 saw a couple of.
00:19:58 I thought John specifically would like this.
00:20:00 He can pass.
00:20:01 He's got a little pass to him.
00:20:05 He's not just a big guy who's physical and bruises around.
00:20:08 There's a little finesse to that game.
00:20:11 I like his physicality.
00:20:12 I do think that he can score around the rim shot.
00:20:14 I actually did see him hit a three.
00:20:16 I'm not saying I expected to see him hit a three,
00:20:18 but I did see him hit a three in the clip that I saw.
00:20:20 And I think that--
00:20:22 listen, he can carve himself a role
00:20:26 at the end of this rotation.
00:20:27 I really do believe it.
00:20:28 If I'm Kada, I'm a little bit nervous.
00:20:29 If I'm Luke, I'm a little bit nervous,
00:20:31 because he's going to be more physical than Luke,
00:20:33 and he's more polished than Kada.
00:20:35 So right off the bat, you kind of have
00:20:36 a guy that could probably do more things when he's out
00:20:40 there, not to mention he can guard all five positions.
00:20:42 And that's probably what Brad liked the most about it,
00:20:45 is that he's versatile.
00:20:46 So you could put him out there almost like an Al Horford
00:20:48 type situation.
00:20:50 Like Holiday misses the game tonight, side Al Horford,
00:20:52 and these guys can just switch five players.
00:20:55 Tillman can do the same thing.
00:20:56 You put him in there, he can probably guard,
00:20:58 switch on to almost anybody.
00:21:00 So that's the thing.
00:21:01 And this is where it's going to--
00:21:04 I'm going to predict mine and Bobby's argument already.
00:21:07 But like-- no, no, no.
00:21:09 Jimmy and I are on the same page here with this.
00:21:15 You have a team that has as much talent and two-way players who
00:21:18 can do everything as the Celtics do,
00:21:21 and they have six of them, OK?
00:21:24 I want everyone who's coming in off the bench
00:21:26 to be a specialist, essentially.
00:21:28 And you kind of are building that a little bit here, too.
00:21:31 You have Sam Houser, who can hold his own
00:21:33 on other aspects of the game, but he's
00:21:35 coming in there to do one thing, and that's knock down threes.
00:21:39 Peyton Pritchard's your little Vinnie Johnson microwave
00:21:41 instant offense second unit guy.
00:21:43 If he can get it going sometimes,
00:21:45 he can give you what you need off of that.
00:21:47 And what were you kind of missing?
00:21:50 Toughness.
00:21:51 And what did you miss most off of Grant?
00:21:54 Not him being able to hit a corner three.
00:21:56 You got enough guys in the lineup
00:21:58 right now who can do that.
00:21:59 You kind of missed a little bit of the toughness
00:22:01 to switch ability than the guy who could come in and defend
00:22:04 multiple positions.
00:22:05 Philmon's a better defender overall than Grant.
00:22:08 He is.
00:22:08 He is.
00:22:09 He's better.
00:22:09 You can put him on other teams' top players when he's in there.
00:22:13 I think that one elite skill is better than being OK
00:22:17 at a few different things.
00:22:18 And I think that that's what you needed here.
00:22:21 And you're not going to get perfect players for the type
00:22:23 of stuff you're giving away.
00:22:24 Second round picks in Lamar Stevens,
00:22:27 that's not going to get you a lot.
00:22:28 So I think you got a pretty good--
00:22:30 I think you got somebody pretty good for what they gave up.
00:22:33 What I'm saying, that's not going
00:22:34 to get you a guy who's going to play starter minutes for you.
00:22:37 But you can get a role player who fills a specific need.
00:22:41 I think it's a great get.
00:22:42 So I like that a lot because it does fill a ton of holes
00:22:47 that they had all kind of in one shot.
00:22:49 Yeah, and you start looking at the--
00:22:51 I wanted to say, you kind of replaced the Grant smart
00:22:55 toughness now with Tillman and Holliday.
00:22:59 So you're not lacking in that department anymore.
00:23:01 And that was something I know people had pointed out
00:23:04 at the beginning of the year and during some losses
00:23:06 how they didn't have that.
00:23:07 So go ahead, Jimmy.
00:23:08 I know you're trying to jump in.
00:23:09 No, Shirab, you had something to say.
00:23:10 No, I was just going to say that the one thing--
00:23:12 and you guys have kind of touched on it--
00:23:14 is that adding him does not replicate anything
00:23:17 that you already have.
00:23:18 He's giving you something that's unique, that
00:23:20 is different than what you have, and something
00:23:23 that you actually need.
00:23:26 When you think about this Celtics team and the fact
00:23:28 that they're built to make a deep playoff run, at some point
00:23:31 they're going to play a team that
00:23:32 is going to try to punk them.
00:23:34 It's probably going to be Milwaukee.
00:23:36 And you're going to need someone who's going to be like, no,
00:23:39 it's not happening under my watch.
00:23:41 I mean, I'm waiting for the day when someone
00:23:43 hits Tatum with a hard foul and somebody responds
00:23:45 on his team besides Tatum.
00:23:47 I'm pretty confident that Tillman will be that guy
00:23:50 if he's on the floor.
00:23:51 Yeah, that's the thing.
00:23:51 He's got a play.
00:23:53 Right.
00:23:53 And he's a guy that when you start looking at--
00:23:55 Jimmy, you did your YouTube research.
00:23:57 You know that he's a guy that folks don't really want.
00:24:01 They don't really want that smoke because he's got a--
00:24:06 he can move, and he's big, and he's strong,
00:24:08 and he's a guy that knows he's not going to be out
00:24:10 there for a ton of minutes.
00:24:11 So guess what?
00:24:12 He goes super hard when he's on the floor.
00:24:14 That's what you need.
00:24:15 He plays like a guy on a 10-day contract, most of the times
00:24:18 when I've watched him play.
00:24:19 He plays as if I may not get a chance to get back
00:24:22 on the floor tonight, whereas some other guys
00:24:24 on that Celtics bench, they just kind of--
00:24:26 they play their game, and they do what they do,
00:24:28 but they don't play with that sense of urgency
00:24:30 almost every time they get out there the way he does.
00:24:32 Sure, I'm seeing visions of Anthony Mason in his head
00:24:35 right now.
00:24:36 You know what?
00:24:37 I've been trying to figure out who he reminds me of.
00:24:40 He doesn't have Mason's game, but he's
00:24:42 got that kind of low key, I really
00:24:45 don't want to mess with that guy tonight because he
00:24:47 might knock me five rows back.
00:24:49 So let me just play my game and do what I do
00:24:51 and just keep my mouth shut.
00:24:53 That little old school--
00:24:54 old school into him.
00:24:55 He is.
00:24:56 Yeah.
00:24:57 He is.
00:24:58 You mentioned--
00:24:59 He's also 25.
00:25:01 He's got that look of a guy who's 25 going on 43.
00:25:04 He came into the league--
00:25:05 he was a 38-year-old when he came into the league.
00:25:07 He's a 35-year-old man when he was first in the league.
00:25:09 He's seen some shit.
00:25:09 Yeah, yeah.
00:25:10 He's like, I can't believe this shit.
00:25:13 I love those guys.
00:25:15 He's like, you got me playing with these kids.
00:25:17 And they're like, but you're a rookie.
00:25:18 But that's not the point.
00:25:19 You got me playing with these kids.
00:25:20 They don't know how to play the game.
00:25:21 One thing I don't know about him,
00:25:23 I don't know if he can set screens.
00:25:25 Nick says he can.
00:25:26 I'm just messing with you.
00:25:28 You blew the-- you blew the bit.
00:25:30 [LAUGHTER]
00:25:31 My bad, Chad.
00:25:32 I didn't mean to laugh at that.
00:25:33 The only reason I said it is because I saw Nick
00:25:35 write it like 14 times in the chat.
00:25:37 Sorry.
00:25:38 [LAUGHTER]
00:25:40 Let me say one thing before I forget it.
00:25:43 I was just doing the Tillman car wash earlier today.
00:25:47 And B-Rob had a little thing on him.
00:25:51 And kind of another wrinkle here is--
00:25:53 Charad, you mentioned he always plays like he's on a 10 day.
00:25:56 Well, he's actually an unrestricted free agent
00:25:57 after this season.
00:25:58 So he has a lot to play for, A. And B, from B-Rob,
00:26:03 is a good point.
00:26:04 Celtics, although they don't have a lot of money
00:26:06 to use and spend, they have his bird rights now.
00:26:09 And so there might be a situation where they can
00:26:12 actually lock this guy up beyond this year
00:26:15 and on a roster where maybe you get him at a decent price,
00:26:19 a guy that still has a little bit to-- a lot to prove,
00:26:22 obviously, in the NBA, a second rounder.
00:26:24 So it might be a good trade for them even beyond this year.
00:26:29 Now, obviously, this year matters more than future years.
00:26:32 But there just might be a little bit extra to it.
00:26:34 And again, you gave up-- like you said, Charad--
00:26:36 a couple of middle schoolers and Lamar Stevens,
00:26:39 who if we did a tribute video to Lamar Stevens,
00:26:42 it would just look like a glitch.
00:26:45 It would look like a glitch.
00:26:47 It would just like in and out so fast.
00:26:49 So we're not going to do that.
00:26:51 No.
00:26:52 I'm leaving this comment up because I
00:26:53 wanted to address it from our man,
00:26:55 Kes, a loyal Garden Report.
00:26:58 That's a great question, Kes.
00:27:00 Great question.
00:27:01 So yes, there is fear.
00:27:03 And we were going to get into that.
00:27:06 Joe's got his comfort zone, right, in his little binkies.
00:27:09 And he's pretty set.
00:27:10 He's like his-- he likes his cornet minutes.
00:27:12 And every once in a while, he likes to go double big.
00:27:16 And he just does what he does.
00:27:17 And he finally settled into it after a year of not really
00:27:20 knowing what to do with the players he had on his team
00:27:23 and how to work those out.
00:27:24 He's got a very clear hierarchy of his top six
00:27:28 and then the other people who fill out those minutes.
00:27:32 Is he going to be like, OK, here's--
00:27:36 this guy's name is Delano Banton.
00:27:40 This here is-- and introduce him to the Stay Ready crew.
00:27:45 I was going to say Stevens, but he's not there.
00:27:47 I want you to get to know these guys.
00:27:49 You're going to be spending a lot of time with them.
00:27:51 These are your friends.
00:27:52 Here's O'Shea.
00:27:53 That guy's name is Svee, I think.
00:27:57 Head over, talk to those guys.
00:27:59 They'll show you the ropes.
00:28:00 It's cool.
00:28:01 When I need you, I know where to find you.
00:28:04 Don't call me.
00:28:04 I'll call you.
00:28:05 And he just kind of leaves them there.
00:28:06 Yeah.
00:28:07 And I think he's at that point in his career where, again,
00:28:11 you want to play for teams like the Celtics
00:28:13 if you're a very specific specialist type guy.
00:28:16 Because you know that if they don't have any tough guys,
00:28:18 at some point, they're going to need you.
00:28:19 And you're going to get a chance to play.
00:28:21 And you're going to have to prove your worth.
00:28:22 And if you already have that 10-day mindset, which
00:28:25 he plays with more times than not,
00:28:28 it's just a matter of just when, not
00:28:30 if you're going to get an opportunity to do good things.
00:28:33 And Jimmy, your point, as a Celtics,
00:28:36 they're obviously focused on this season and this moment.
00:28:39 But we all know that when you start doing the math,
00:28:42 they're going to need to get high impact, low cost
00:28:44 players, guys that can help them that aren't going
00:28:48 to cost a ton of money.
00:28:49 And he could very well be one of those guys.
00:28:51 Would not shock me at all if he has a good end of the season
00:28:56 slash postseason with the Celtics
00:28:57 and they put an offer out on the table for him that, again,
00:29:01 probably is below his market value.
00:29:04 But for him, having been in a situation here in Boston
00:29:08 where he got a chance to win, and hopefully they
00:29:09 win a championship, it might be enough to convince him to stay.
00:29:12 I mean, it's a good situation for him.
00:29:14 Assuming he has playing time, he's
00:29:16 going to get some national spotlight.
00:29:17 He's going to get the playoffs.
00:29:18 I mean, he wasn't going to get any of that playing out
00:29:21 the rest of the year in Memphis.
00:29:22 You get some nice ribs.
00:29:24 You get to hang out with Marcus Smart, which is what it is.
00:29:27 In Boston, you get a chance to get a duffel parade.
00:29:29 You get some clam chowder.
00:29:31 Yeah.
00:29:31 Yeah.
00:29:32 You get the north end.
00:29:33 Get them ready.
00:29:34 Real quick, we're going to hear from normal boring Joe
00:29:36 in a second.
00:29:37 We're going to talk a little bit more about Luke's boy.
00:29:41 I've been saving this conversation.
00:29:42 But whose minutes are impacted?
00:29:44 Luke's boy?
00:29:45 I've seen it speculated.
00:29:47 Cornette's still safe.
00:29:48 It's Kada who's going to lose it.
00:29:50 But I don't know.
00:29:51 X-Man comes in here and does his thing.
00:29:53 I think that he slides in ahead of both of those guys,
00:29:55 particularly because you can play tough in the playoffs.
00:29:59 You can play defense in the playoffs.
00:30:02 Luke is always the--
00:30:05 you don't know what you're going to get here.
00:30:07 So I think--
00:30:08 Luke's more finesse, maybe a little bit more finesse.
00:30:11 I don't know.
00:30:12 We'll see.
00:30:12 Real quick message from our--
00:30:14 --describe him much.
00:30:15 FanDuel, baby, get in on the big game.
00:30:17 Props.
00:30:18 I know Jimmy Toscano is a big prop bet guy.
00:30:21 He loves them.
00:30:22 We'll talk more about that going forward.
00:30:25 But all you got to do to get in on the action,
00:30:27 you want to sign up for FanDuel ahead of the big game
00:30:29 if you haven't signed up already.
00:30:30 It's a great opportunity to take advantage of this special offer.
00:30:33 And that's $200 in bonus bets if your first bet of $5 or more
00:30:37 wins.
00:30:37 So here's the thing.
00:30:38 You got to sign up, win a bet of $5, really easy.
00:30:43 Do it now, guys.
00:30:45 Don't wait until Sunday.
00:30:46 $200.
00:30:46 Put that crap on ridiculous props and parlays
00:30:50 and all sorts of Super Bowl stuff.
00:30:52 And have a fun Super Bowl Sunday here on FanDuel.
00:30:56 Once again, fanduel.com/boston.
00:30:58 Head on in.
00:30:59 Take advantage of this special bonus when you sign up today.
00:31:03 Bet $5.
00:31:04 You win it, and you get it.
00:31:07 And that's it.
00:31:08 Get started.
00:31:09 Jimmy, what's your spread?
00:31:10 What's your Super Bowl--
00:31:12 are you hosting?
00:31:13 I actually am hosting.
00:31:14 I got bullied into hosting.
00:31:15 I ended up getting-- somebody sent me
00:31:17 a flyer that said I was--
00:31:20 it was like a flyer about me hosting.
00:31:21 And I didn't even make it.
00:31:23 I couldn't believe it.
00:31:24 We're not going to get too crazy for the Super Bowl.
00:31:26 We're going to try to put some of the work
00:31:29 on the fine restaurants in the area.
00:31:32 So we're going to stick pizza wings.
00:31:33 Going to definitely do buffalo chicken dip.
00:31:35 But we're going to keep it simple.
00:31:37 Probably some other little apps flying around.
00:31:40 But it should be good.
00:31:42 It always is good.
00:31:42 A couple of beers, nothing too crazy.
00:31:45 You don't want to be hung over on Monday morning.
00:31:47 Some people say Monday after Super Bowl
00:31:49 should be like a holiday, because everybody's kind of
00:31:53 treated their body like crap the day before.
00:31:57 Now, I disagree with that.
00:31:58 But I can see why.
00:32:00 OK.
00:32:02 What are you going to do?
00:32:03 I don't know.
00:32:05 The people who I'd normally hang with in the Super Bowl
00:32:07 were getting together for a dinner party on Friday.
00:32:10 I don't know if we're going to roll it back on Sunday or not,
00:32:12 or I might just head over to a buddy's house
00:32:14 and watch it pretty low key.
00:32:15 But I don't think it's a big thing.
00:32:17 I don't think we're going big.
00:32:19 That's the thing is I hate the Chiefs,
00:32:20 and I don't really care about the Niners.
00:32:22 So it's not like the good old days.
00:32:24 If the Pats were playing, oh my god.
00:32:26 It would be 100 people.
00:32:27 I'd have 100 people over and turn the place upside down.
00:32:30 This was a strike beard, by the way.
00:32:32 And yes, I got to get rid of it, because the gray beard comes
00:32:35 in.
00:32:36 That's why I shaved it in the first place.
00:32:38 Is the strike over?
00:32:40 Yes, it is over.
00:32:41 Oh, I missed that.
00:32:42 Kids have been back this week.
00:32:43 That's good, I guess.
00:32:45 Did the teachers get what they wanted?
00:32:48 We'll talk offline.
00:32:50 Anyway--
00:32:51 Wait, what was I going to say?
00:32:53 Oh, real quick.
00:32:54 It's occupied too much of my head space to get in here.
00:32:56 Real quick?
00:32:57 Yeah.
00:32:58 The pizza that I'm thinking about getting,
00:32:59 there's a Sally's Pizza that opened up in Woburn.
00:33:02 It's like--
00:33:03 Woburn, it is-- you're going to have to order--
00:33:05 Should I order it now?
00:33:07 You needed to order two weeks ago to get a pie there.
00:33:09 Really?
00:33:09 Oh my god.
00:33:10 I didn't know that.
00:33:11 It's been bad.
00:33:12 I don't think they'll even take your call.
00:33:14 I'm not kidding.
00:33:15 What if I just show-- so I can't show up Sunday?
00:33:17 It's so big on a regular day, they
00:33:18 will not even take your call.
00:33:20 Wow.
00:33:21 So I should probably get that out of my head for Sunday.
00:33:23 That's what I was thinking.
00:33:24 You got to get your Buffs Pub order in early, too.
00:33:27 It's right around the corner from Sherrod.
00:33:30 That's my guy.
00:33:31 I knew it was a hot pizza right now.
00:33:34 I didn't know it was like--
00:33:35 It's one of those-- you know what?
00:33:37 Same thing happened when they opened the first Frank
00:33:40 Pepe's in Chestnut Hill.
00:33:42 They wouldn't answer their phone.
00:33:43 They literally just couldn't handle the volume of it.
00:33:46 And they were just like, please stop calling us.
00:33:48 So that's what they're dealing with now.
00:33:49 Massive lines on weekdays.
00:33:51 They're not picking up the phone.
00:33:53 You might order a pizza and you won't get it for like nine--
00:33:55 it's really, really hard.
00:33:56 I probably shouldn't even do it on Sunday then.
00:33:59 That's going to be a disaster trying to time it and everything.
00:34:02 There's a Joe's pizza in Cambridge, too.
00:34:04 Joe's is a great slice shop in New York.
00:34:06 But anyway, we did want to get into normal Joe.
00:34:11 Normal Joe.
00:34:13 Yeah, let's play this.
00:34:14 Let's see your normal Joe.
00:34:15 Here he is talking to Gary in a normal Joe sort of way.
00:34:18 Oh, boy.
00:34:19 Coming in in that trade, what's kind of your thoughts on him
00:34:22 and what do you think--
00:34:23 That's Bobby.
00:34:24 Toughness.
00:34:24 He can pass.
00:34:25 Skilled.
00:34:26 High IQ.
00:34:27 Obviously a good defender.
00:34:29 Pick and roll.
00:34:30 Excited to have him.
00:34:31 And it'll be important for him to get up to speed
00:34:33 on our defensive schemes.
00:34:34 And I think it'll give us some versatility.
00:34:38 OK.
00:34:42 OK.
00:34:44 OK.
00:34:45 I like weird Joe.
00:34:47 I do, too.
00:34:48 I take it back.
00:34:49 Give us weird Joe from now on.
00:34:53 Ask him about three-pointers.
00:34:55 Does it take too many threes?
00:34:57 That's his way of activating weird Joe.
00:34:59 That's almost like the cheat code to activate weird Joe.
00:35:03 There's a couple-- yeah, there's a couple of things
00:35:04 that he's been saying.
00:35:05 Why did Ahmed give me that?
00:35:06 He's been spoken to.
00:35:07 Ahmed just was spoken to.
00:35:11 That's good.
00:35:11 What about--
00:35:16 What about you say, Jimmy?
00:35:17 You're about to say something.
00:35:19 Oh, shoot.
00:35:19 Ahmed just said, thanks for the invite for my Super Bowl party.
00:35:22 I didn't even-- I don't even know who's coming.
00:35:24 You're probably on the list for all I know.
00:35:27 Oh, it's the Celtics game on Sunday.
00:35:28 Good save, Jimmy.
00:35:29 Good save.
00:35:29 I just outed myself.
00:35:30 I'm not going to be on the show on Sunday.
00:35:32 What time is the Celtics game?
00:35:34 2, 2 o'clock.
00:35:35 All right, that's also messing with my mojo.
00:35:37 It would make it hard for me to host, but yeah.
00:35:39 Totally outed myself.
00:35:43 That's all.
00:35:43 That's fine.
00:35:45 We're going to get Bobby.
00:35:47 We're going to get Bobby.
00:35:48 I'm going to remove Joe, because that was so disappointing.
00:35:51 Get him out of there, Ahmed.
00:35:52 Let's get Joe on X.
00:35:55 Oh my god, I can't do that.
00:35:56 I got to get to four.
00:35:57 Oh my god, you just turned into Bobby for a split second.
00:35:59 No lie.
00:36:00 That was weird.
00:36:00 I did.
00:36:01 You saw that, right?
00:36:03 Well, there he is.
00:36:04 There he is.
00:36:05 John's on the right now.
00:36:06 Everything's screwed up.
00:36:07 Wait, Ahmed, do we have a four--
00:36:09 like a four--
00:36:09 There you go, John.
00:36:10 Do we have a Brady bunch for him?
00:36:13 This is better.
00:36:14 This is good.
00:36:16 You like this?
00:36:16 I don't want the Brady bunch.
00:36:18 Oh, I like the Brady bunch, too, I think.
00:36:20 Ahmed, do you have that?
00:36:21 I haven't seen it.
00:36:22 Right here, no?
00:36:24 Yeah, Joe, did you touch stuff?
00:36:26 It's kind of like the Brady bunch.
00:36:28 This is fine.
00:36:28 Do we have that for four or no?
00:36:31 I thought we did.
00:36:32 Anyway, we'll stay like this for now.
00:36:34 I thought we had it.
00:36:36 What's up, Bobby?
00:36:38 What's up?
00:36:39 Trade deadline week.
00:36:42 Bobby, how do you like Tillman?
00:36:44 Real quick, was Joe spoken to?
00:36:47 About what?
00:36:49 His press conferences.
00:36:51 Bobby, are you outside?
00:36:54 We're in the thick of it here.
00:36:57 He's in the bike lane right now.
00:36:58 Did you not get into the game?
00:36:59 Did they not let you in?
00:37:02 Yeah, I'm on causeway.
00:37:06 Oh, man.
00:37:07 Yeah, what about Joe?
00:37:09 Why is he normal all of a sudden?
00:37:10 Why is he normal?
00:37:11 I thought he was the same old Joe.
00:37:15 Said the difference between the first and second half
00:37:17 was that Bay was making threes early,
00:37:19 and then the second half he stopped making them.
00:37:23 I didn't throw too much credit toward any defensive
00:37:26 adjustments or even the shot margins.
00:37:29 Again, goes back to making the right play.
00:37:31 This one to me, though, John, really sticks out in the fact
00:37:34 that they went 32 for 44 from two,
00:37:38 and they started the game 21 for 26, got to the rim at will,
00:37:42 and then felt like in the second half
00:37:45 were chasing that Hawks three-point total, which
00:37:47 I get in a matchup like this because the Hawks are
00:37:49 going to get a ton up.
00:37:50 The Hawks were staying in the game
00:37:52 because they got so many up.
00:37:53 And so you did have to balance that out a little bit.
00:37:55 But then last two minutes, you're just sort of launching.
00:37:59 And I know there was a little bit of a lethargic effort
00:38:01 there, too.
00:38:02 But the Hawks pull right within five with about a minute 20
00:38:05 left or so.
00:38:06 And they had a pretty good look.
00:38:08 That was a great look that Sadiq had there.
00:38:10 Yeah.
00:38:11 It was.
00:38:12 They gave up a really good--
00:38:13 really good look.
00:38:14 And that would have made it two or three at that point.
00:38:16 It was a five-point game, yeah.
00:38:19 Yeah, so this is a tough matchup for them still.
00:38:22 I remember that first game, I think it was just a 10-point
00:38:24 game.
00:38:24 The Hawks stayed in it for most of the night.
00:38:26 Offensive rebounding for them, phenomenal.
00:38:30 They're a tough matchup for the Celtics here.
00:38:32 And it's potentially a first-round matchup for them
00:38:36 with where this Atlanta team's situated.
00:38:37 They're starting to play better.
00:38:39 I think they've won four out of six, four-game win streak
00:38:42 before these last two losses, where they played maybe
00:38:44 the two best teams in the league pretty tough.
00:38:46 And we'll see what they do tomorrow.
00:38:47 They're obviously one of the teams connected
00:38:49 in a bunch of different ways to many moves.
00:38:52 Clint Capella could move, and De'Jaunte Murray's probably
00:38:55 the biggest name floating around out there, scrapped from this
00:38:57 one.
00:38:58 So that's obviously curious.
00:39:00 But if they keep this team together,
00:39:02 if they can figure out how to play at the level they were
00:39:05 late last year, this could be another challenging
00:39:08 first-round series for Boston here.
00:39:10 They were in it throughout.
00:39:11 And man, can Jalen Johnson play.
00:39:13 He's looking like their second-best player,
00:39:15 giving the Celtics trouble throughout this one.
00:39:17 But credit to the Celtics.
00:39:18 They look good in that double big alignment with no holiday.
00:39:21 Horford was sensational.
00:39:22 All those blocks in the third quarter
00:39:24 that they made as a team, saving the ball on the baseline.
00:39:27 That's a great effort.
00:39:28 On the other hand, you don't love the effort waning
00:39:30 in the last couple of minutes there.
00:39:32 No, they clearly checked out with about four minutes--
00:39:36 You could see it, too.
00:39:37 Yeah, you could.
00:39:38 I mean, it was so obvious.
00:39:41 And again, that shot that Sadiq had with about a minute
00:39:45 or so to play, I'm shocked that that didn't go down,
00:39:48 based upon the way he was playing
00:39:49 and based upon the fact that it was probably the best
00:39:51 look he had in the second half, in terms of shots.
00:39:55 So yeah.
00:39:58 Got the win.
00:40:00 Keep it moving.
00:40:01 I got nothing else on this game.
00:40:04 No, I got nothing on this game.
00:40:06 I love--
00:40:07 Bobby, let me ask you this.
00:40:08 --my last word on it.
00:40:08 Yeah, my last word on it is--
00:40:10 I have a word, too, but let's go to yours.
00:40:11 No, I want your--
00:40:12 I just love the passing.
00:40:13 I love the movement in this game.
00:40:14 I love how aggressive they were going to the rim.
00:40:17 They got Porzingis the ball pretty aggressively, too.
00:40:21 So there's some gripes out of this one.
00:40:23 But overall, despite it being a closer game
00:40:25 than you wanted against a team like this,
00:40:27 and that lapse at the end, there's
00:40:30 some great execution offensively throughout this game
00:40:33 that you really haven't seen from them recently.
00:40:35 Good connectivity, good shot quality, I thought.
00:40:40 Whether it was inside shots or out.
00:40:42 Tatum, not as much.
00:40:45 But he still made some good passes in this game.
00:40:47 And his assist rates taking a little bit of a jump
00:40:50 last week or two here.
00:40:52 My question is this.
00:40:55 Is there anything the Hawks did to make Tatum--
00:41:01 like to affect Tatum's shot profile tonight?
00:41:05 It's a good question.
00:41:07 They did send a double or two at him early.
00:41:10 And they doubled Porzingis a little bit early, too.
00:41:12 They were bringing in help.
00:41:14 He got trapped once, was a little slow out
00:41:16 of the double early.
00:41:17 And it looked like there was a guy shading on occasion
00:41:20 when he was loading up and trying to drive.
00:41:22 I don't know if that got to him a little bit.
00:41:24 I just noticed that early.
00:41:25 But other than that, it looked like he
00:41:27 was kind of setting guys up for that step back a little bit
00:41:31 too much tonight.
00:41:33 I think one of the biggest things that draws him into that
00:41:36 is the big coming out on him.
00:41:38 I feel like every time he gets a center on him,
00:41:40 he's going to go to that step back and try to shoot over them.
00:41:43 It's almost automatic if you go and look
00:41:45 at some of those possessions.
00:41:47 So that's part of it for sure.
00:41:49 They'll make him a passer at times with the doubles,
00:41:51 which I think works in Boston's favor
00:41:53 when they're hitting shots.
00:41:54 And they ran some good pick and rolls out of those,
00:41:57 too, where he got switches.
00:41:58 And when he's going downhill toward the basket,
00:42:01 I feel like good things happen.
00:42:02 They didn't shoot a ton of free throws in this one.
00:42:04 In fact, they lost that battle pretty decisively.
00:42:08 So there's still some things to work on out of this one.
00:42:12 But overall, I feel like he made timely plays here.
00:42:15 It's just a settling, John.
00:42:17 And Joe did get asked about that after the game,
00:42:19 whether you keep attacking the rim,
00:42:21 whether you keep going downhill in a night like this,
00:42:24 where he's getting whatever he wants at the basket.
00:42:26 And I forget who asked the question.
00:42:28 I think it was Corrales.
00:42:30 Love that he throws in there.
00:42:32 The rim protector's not out there tonight in Capella.
00:42:35 It's similar to the Lakers game, where you don't have
00:42:37 Anthony Davis out there.
00:42:38 So there is room to attack situationally.
00:42:42 You can get downhill and get to the basket almost at will
00:42:45 against this team.
00:42:45 And good things happen when you go down there
00:42:47 and make good decisions.
00:42:48 I had a conversation with Al Horford
00:42:49 this morning about their lack of free throws, John.
00:42:51 Say hi to Joe Sway, Bobby.
00:42:53 Say hi.
00:42:54 What's up, fellas?
00:42:55 OK, go ahead, Bobby.
00:42:57 What's up, Joe?
00:42:59 What's going on, Joe Sway?
00:43:00 He's copying Bobby.
00:43:00 Keep going.
00:43:01 No, no, no.
00:43:02 I don't want you to feel ignored.
00:43:05 Hi, Joe Sway.
00:43:06 I've been talking to Joe Sway all night.
00:43:08 Hey, Joe Sway.
00:43:08 But I want the people to acknowledge it.
00:43:10 Because he's like, hey, buddy.
00:43:12 I want to react like a norm, you know, like somebody comes in.
00:43:15 You know, just-- anyway, go ahead, Bobby.
00:43:17 Finish up.
00:43:17 Everybody knows your name.
00:43:18 Bring it home.
00:43:19 I'm starting to become a little obsessed with this, John.
00:43:22 They lack--
00:43:24 What is that sound?
00:43:25 What in the world is going on?
00:43:26 What is that?
00:43:27 It's got to be Joe Sway, right?
00:43:29 It's like someone shaking dice.
00:43:30 Is that you, Joe Sway?
00:43:31 Is that you, Bobby?
00:43:32 You're shaking dice.
00:43:33 It sounds like an alien from Independence Day
00:43:36 trying to like--
00:43:38 You know-- both of you know where we're at.
00:43:40 You know this is the press room.
00:43:42 There's no beeping in here.
00:43:43 What's this little rattling sound?
00:43:45 Mute him for a second.
00:43:47 Mute him for a second.
00:43:48 I guarantee you.
00:43:49 Mute.
00:43:52 Joe Sway, mute.
00:43:53 Mute yourself, if you can.
00:43:55 The beeping?
00:43:56 No, just mute.
00:43:57 God, I just got to figure it out.
00:44:01 There goes our star.
00:44:02 It's not happening right now.
00:44:03 It's not happening right now.
00:44:04 No, you're good.
00:44:05 You didn't mute.
00:44:06 But it's not happening right now, so.
00:44:08 All right, go ahead.
00:44:09 Everybody, nobody--
00:44:10 It was weird.
00:44:11 It was really weird.
00:44:12 OK, we're good now, were we?
00:44:13 I'm getting a little obsessed, John,
00:44:15 with their lack of shots at the basket,
00:44:18 with their lack of free throws.
00:44:19 And so a game like this, for me, I
00:44:22 hope affirms their ability to get there and make good things
00:44:26 happen out of that spot.
00:44:27 Because you can still shoot 49 threes, John.
00:44:30 Perfectly fine.
00:44:30 And you needed to in a game like this.
00:44:32 But you made 73% of your shots at the basket.
00:44:37 I love that.
00:44:39 And you found good looks there.
00:44:40 That's the biggest reason that happened.
00:44:42 And yes, you shot more threes than twos.
00:44:45 You didn't get to the free throw line a ton.
00:44:47 But I thought it struck a really good balance for them.
00:44:49 And that's it, John.
00:44:50 It's a balance.
00:44:52 I'm fine with the threes.
00:44:53 They take a lot of the time.
00:44:54 And I think you are, too.
00:44:55 I'm fine with it, too, because that's--
00:44:57 But you've got to get to the basket, too.
00:45:00 Yeah.
00:45:00 Right.
00:45:01 I mean, that's what drives me crazy, right, Bobby?
00:45:03 I feel like you see it more often, especially
00:45:04 in this game, in the first quarter, where-- what was it?
00:45:06 4 for 5 in the paint to Christoph Porzingis.
00:45:08 Just observing the mismatch.
00:45:10 How many times he has someone that's undersized or a guard,
00:45:12 even?
00:45:13 And they didn't think twice.
00:45:14 And you saw that more often throughout the course
00:45:16 of the game.
00:45:17 And I felt like it established the inside presence.
00:45:19 And it also started things up from the three-point range.
00:45:23 They got the open looks.
00:45:24 The ball was swinging.
00:45:25 Facts, my dog.
00:45:30 So yeah.
00:45:32 The ball was swinging.
00:45:35 Ball swinging.
00:45:36 We did talk a little bit about--
00:45:38 guys, you talk to anybody who say anything interesting
00:45:40 tonight?
00:45:41 Or should we just move back to the trade stuff?
00:45:45 You talked to your boy, Sadiq Bey, tonight, Joe?
00:45:47 The balls were swinging.
00:45:49 Did you tell Sadiq Bey that he fits perfectly into the TPE?
00:45:53 I did not.
00:45:54 Yeah.
00:45:54 But Mazzulla had nothing but great things, obviously,
00:45:57 to say about Tillman.
00:45:58 I don't know if you guys talked about him yet.
00:46:00 Normal, boring things.
00:46:01 Yes, he did.
00:46:03 Let's play.
00:46:03 Play the clip.
00:46:04 This is as good as it gets for Joe.
00:46:06 Yeah.
00:46:07 No, we've had better.
00:46:08 I want old, crazy Joe.
00:46:09 We've had better.
00:46:10 Well, he's going to give Tillman his flowers
00:46:13 before he gets to play the game?
00:46:15 Joe Sway, John keeps saying he changed.
00:46:17 Tell him about what happened pregame.
00:46:20 What do you mean he's changed?
00:46:22 What happened?
00:46:22 That he was very--
00:46:25 Normal.
00:46:25 Normal, yeah.
00:46:27 Well, you mean when he shut down the Tillman question?
00:46:29 Is that normal?
00:46:31 So he got to ask--
00:46:31 No, no, no, no, no.
00:46:32 That's what I'm saying.
00:46:34 It was a very Joe moment pregame.
00:46:36 Yeah.
00:46:37 Yeah, that's true.
00:46:38 I thought it was more of a--
00:46:40 [INTERPOSING VOICES]
00:46:41 Keep it to yourselves, guys.
00:46:42 Good details.
00:46:43 [LAUGHTER]
00:46:44 I'm asking for the story, Joe Sway.
00:46:46 Well, he just shut down the question.
00:46:48 He said a reporter asked--
00:46:51 Jerry Reuys asked, can you talk about a particular big man out
00:46:53 of Memphis that would be a great fit in Boston?
00:46:55 Before he even finished the question, he just goes,
00:46:57 don't do that.
00:46:58 And then next question.
00:46:59 So he completely dismissed it.
00:47:01 Now that it's official, during the game, it was made official,
00:47:06 Jared asked the question again.
00:47:08 And he got a different response this time.
00:47:11 He acted like he knew exactly what he was talking about.
00:47:13 Don't do that.
00:47:14 Didn't you see the jujitsu clip?
00:47:16 Don't do that.
00:47:17 It felt like a professorish, as if, this
00:47:19 isn't the way you do questions.
00:47:21 You got to admit, seeing that jujitsu clip,
00:47:25 you might not want to say some bad things about this guy.
00:47:28 That's why I stay here.
00:47:29 Yeah.
00:47:30 I might have to be careful, too.
00:47:33 Jujitsu.
00:47:34 I missed it, I think.
00:47:36 Oh, that-- yeah, that was part of--
00:47:37 Balls were swinging.
00:47:38 That's--
00:47:39 [LAUGHTER]
00:47:40 John, that's got to be part of--
00:47:42 we have to bring that back.
00:47:45 Balls were swinging.
00:47:46 The balls were swinging.
00:47:47 I don't think it was plural, but all right.
00:47:49 We should call him Joe-- we should call him--
00:47:52 we should call him--
00:47:52 It wasn't plural.
00:47:53 It's like, I think that's learned
00:47:55 from a Christmas song.
00:47:56 Anyway.
00:47:57 We should call him Joe Jitsu.
00:48:00 Joe Jitsu.
00:48:00 You go ahead and do that.
00:48:01 You go ahead and do that, Jimmy.
00:48:03 [LAUGHTER]
00:48:03 I'm going to call him Joe Jitsu.
00:48:05 I like it.
00:48:06 That'd be--
00:48:06 Sam Cassell with his big swinging balls.
00:48:08 No, you don't.
00:48:09 You don't like it, Bob.
00:48:10 Joe Jitsu has a nice ring to it.
00:48:12 Easier than Joe Mazzulla every time.
00:48:13 Yeah, Joe Jitsu.
00:48:15 Joe Jitsu.
00:48:16 That was off of Chris Tapp's--
00:48:19 what was it?
00:48:20 IG?
00:48:21 Yeah.
00:48:21 I wonder if Joe likes that.
00:48:23 He might have been like, I hope this doesn't make me look bad.
00:48:26 He's talked about it, yeah.
00:48:28 Yeah, but to see it, though, to see it like that,
00:48:30 that move he did--
00:48:31 when's the last time you see a head coach do something
00:48:34 like that?
00:48:34 Did it intimidate you?
00:48:35 No, it didn't intimidate me.
00:48:36 It's just like, oh, that--
00:48:37 Kind of did, Jimmy.
00:48:39 Yeah, Bobbie's like, it intimidated the hell out
00:48:41 of me.
00:48:42 Bobbie was powering in the corner.
00:48:44 I saw that.
00:48:45 I don't think there's anything you can do that beats that.
00:48:50 I have to see it.
00:48:51 I haven't seen it, to be completely honest.
00:48:52 But I will definitely look at his Instagram.
00:48:54 All right, so let's get in quickly.
00:48:57 The question everybody most wants to know,
00:49:01 Bobbie, is what happens to Luke and Kada?
00:49:05 Does Tillman slide ahead or behind of Luke
00:49:08 right now in the rotation?
00:49:11 I think he's ahead eventually once he gets things up to speed.
00:49:14 And yeah, I mean, Joe said one of the biggest things
00:49:17 that-- that actual substantive thing I think he got out
00:49:20 of that comment about Tillman was that he's going to have
00:49:23 to catch up defensively.
00:49:24 And I talked to Porzingis about that in the locker room.
00:49:27 And he said, it's a lot.
00:49:30 Processors just spinning constantly playing
00:49:32 into this defense because you're changing matchups.
00:49:35 You're switching a ton.
00:49:37 You're constantly adjusting to what coverages
00:49:40 you're playing out there.
00:49:41 And obviously, we've seen them go
00:49:42 to some zone and some presses and other things
00:49:44 this year on that end.
00:49:46 How ready is Tillman to fit into a lot of that, even their drop?
00:49:48 And I'm interested to see, too, do they put him out there
00:49:52 alone?
00:49:52 Do they put him out there with other bigs?
00:49:54 Because if he's playing with Horford,
00:49:56 they'll probably be switching everything.
00:49:58 And you're going to see him in some wing matchups and guard
00:50:01 matchups even.
00:50:01 And obviously, we had Michael Cole,
00:50:03 who covers him in Memphis, on earlier when the news broke.
00:50:06 And he said he will go out and cover some guards, which
00:50:08 is a big thing.
00:50:09 And eventually, John, I do think that's
00:50:11 a reason he'll pass Luke in this rotation
00:50:13 is Luke's pretty limited on a matchup basis.
00:50:17 You can't get him on the perimeter guarding guys.
00:50:19 And it goes pretty poorly.
00:50:21 If you have a guy who's going to be
00:50:22 able to switch pretty aggressively on the perimeter,
00:50:25 that's a big thing for them right now.
00:50:26 My only question with him in terms of fitting,
00:50:28 especially in a playoff rotation,
00:50:30 is he a guy that defenses can ignore?
00:50:32 And the numbers are horrible this year.
00:50:34 You look at them, the efficiency.
00:50:36 How much of that is that Memphis team
00:50:38 he's playing with that we saw the other night that has nobody
00:50:41 on it?
00:50:42 Probably a significant part, I'd imagine.
00:50:44 He shot 60% last year, which is much better.
00:50:47 But this is a nice piece.
00:50:49 I'm not going to do backflips here and say he moves
00:50:52 the needle in a ginormous--
00:50:56 It's not.
00:50:56 It's just--
00:50:57 [INTERPOSING VOICES]
00:50:58 Is he going to contribute some?
00:51:00 Because again, like we said, we joked about it earlier.
00:51:03 I said earlier in the show, is this defensive Mike Muscala
00:51:07 who's never going to play?
00:51:08 He's going to be left--
00:51:09 It's the opposite end of that spectrum, yeah.
00:51:11 Is he going to never play?
00:51:12 You made him move.
00:51:13 And we're like, oh, great.
00:51:14 What are they going to do with him?
00:51:16 And the answer is nothing.
00:51:17 The good thing is, John, you give up
00:51:19 two seconds, which that's a real cost now in terms of maybe
00:51:23 you could have done some other things with it.
00:51:25 One of them's in 2030.
00:51:27 But--
00:51:28 Who the hell knows where we'll be by then?
00:51:31 I really like him.
00:51:32 I really like him as an emergency option.
00:51:34 If you lose Horford for a game or two,
00:51:37 if you lose Porzingis for a game or two,
00:51:39 you did need someone that could go out there and,
00:51:41 with playoff experience, produce.
00:51:44 You look at what he did against the Lakers, I think last year,
00:51:47 8-8 in that series, solid minutes on Anthony Davis.
00:51:51 You couldn't ask that out of Brissett and Cornett,
00:51:54 I don't think.
00:51:56 So you needed this, I think, for the right price.
00:52:00 And this is the right price when you think of Stevens
00:52:03 in two seconds.
00:52:03 I was pleasantly surprised to see this this afternoon.
00:52:06 Yeah.
00:52:07 I mean, he gives you another, in case of an emergency,
00:52:10 crack this open.
00:52:12 You don't have enough of those guys in the South extreme.
00:52:14 And that's great, especially when
00:52:16 you gave him a couple of middle schoolers
00:52:18 and a guy at the end of your bench to get him.
00:52:22 So this was a really good deal for the South,
00:52:26 when you consider what they invested to get him
00:52:29 and what they could potentially get back in return.
00:52:32 So I'm good with this deal.
00:52:34 And to your point, Bobby, it's not the blockbuster trade,
00:52:39 but this team doesn't need that.
00:52:41 They literally don't need that.
00:52:42 They need to add around the edges, as opposed
00:52:45 to making a brand new centerpiece.
00:52:47 They don't need that.
00:52:49 He did that before the season, right, Sharron?
00:52:51 Brad Stevens did that before the season.
00:52:53 You traded for Porzingis.
00:52:54 You traded for Drew Holliday.
00:52:55 You have the best team in the NBA right now.
00:52:57 You just want to get the finishing pieces.
00:52:58 A muscle guy could come in there,
00:53:00 do the dirty work for you, especially if someone's
00:53:02 in foul trouble, especially going up
00:53:04 against someone like Giannis.
00:53:06 Joel Embiid may not be in the picture as much as, say,
00:53:09 a couple of weeks ago.
00:53:10 But I just think having that insurance policy,
00:53:12 having that sort of muscle coming off the bench who
00:53:16 has proven himself, who these guys clearly believe in
00:53:18 as a versatile defender, I think it's great.
00:53:21 I think it's great for the South.
00:53:22 I think it's a great way for Brad Stevens
00:53:24 to put the finishing touches to this team,
00:53:26 especially when you look at the way he's put together
00:53:28 this roster, put together this rotation with guys that--
00:53:31 Thanks, Pete.
00:53:32 He's already spent those future first round picks
00:53:34 that teams would dream for bringing in someone like a Drew
00:53:37 or someone like Derek White, who's obviously
00:53:39 blossomed into this borderline fringe all-star,
00:53:42 whatever you want to call him.
00:53:42 But it's a key piece.
00:53:43 These are all important pieces.
00:53:45 Al Horford is another one that Brad
00:53:47 used for future first round picks.
00:53:49 So you send away a couple of second rounders
00:53:52 for someone like this for an insurance policy,
00:53:54 I'm OK with that.
00:53:55 Back to John's point.
00:53:59 Back to John's point, though.
00:54:00 He needs to play.
00:54:01 He has an expiring contract.
00:54:03 Can you keep him?
00:54:05 I mean--
00:54:05 It's not a big deal, right?
00:54:07 It's April's 4, Bobby.
00:54:08 I mean, let's think about it.
00:54:09 A lot of these guys are going to be--
00:54:10 they're going to dial back their minutes.
00:54:12 Joe Mizzell's going to dial back a lot of these guys' minutes
00:54:14 by heading into the playoffs.
00:54:15 But you've got to get used to playing them
00:54:16 with actual players, not--
00:54:19 Mike Muscala scored 36 points in a game or something.
00:54:22 Remember that game?
00:54:23 He did, right?
00:54:23 No, it was his debut.
00:54:24 It was his debut, wasn't it?
00:54:25 He played nobody.
00:54:26 And he comes in there, and he friggin'--
00:54:27 and we're like, oh.
00:54:28 And then he was a DNP in nine straight games.
00:54:31 You didn't see him in the--
00:54:33 So--
00:54:33 He's not exactly--
00:54:34 They have to work in--
00:54:36 you can't work them into--
00:54:37 Here's the difference, guys.
00:54:39 You have to work them into regular rotations
00:54:41 and see how they play with the big boys,
00:54:42 because you're going nine deep max in the playoffs.
00:54:46 And if he's going to play real minutes,
00:54:47 he's got to play them kind of soon-ish.
00:54:50 I think now is--
00:54:51 I think you throw them into the fire.
00:54:53 Who cares?
00:54:54 Like, these are the meaningless games.
00:54:55 Wasn't that comment interesting, Josh?
00:54:56 And you just got through--
00:54:57 you just got through the rough part of your schedule.
00:54:59 You've got some cupcakes coming up.
00:55:01 I look at the guy--
00:55:02 I throw him into the deep end right away.
00:55:04 And just play him the way you're going to play him.
00:55:06 Treat it like you would--
00:55:07 what happened with Derek White?
00:55:09 Like, they just threw him in, and maybe to his detriment.
00:55:11 But they had no choice.
00:55:13 We've got to integrate you, because we
00:55:14 brought you here to help us.
00:55:16 If he's really here to help, you have to play him early.
00:55:18 You can't wait 15, 20 games until Joe's like,
00:55:21 I don't know what to do.
00:55:22 He's got to play.
00:55:23 He's got to play.
00:55:24 You've got to play him.
00:55:25 But I think-- I don't think the Miscala comparisons are going
00:55:27 to end up being accurate, because he's
00:55:30 a defensive-minded player first.
00:55:31 And that's how he's going to get on the court.
00:55:33 He's not going to kill you when he's out there.
00:55:35 Sherrod said it off the top.
00:55:36 He's not a scorer.
00:55:37 They didn't trade for him, because they
00:55:39 need a little offensive boost.
00:55:41 Yeah, he can do some stuff around the rim.
00:55:43 And he's athletic.
00:55:44 And he can run the floor.
00:55:46 He can make some passes.
00:55:47 And he can grab some boards for you.
00:55:49 And he can be physical.
00:55:50 He's some version of Grant, with the toughness
00:55:54 and the physicality, without the outside shot.
00:55:56 Yeah, good comparison.
00:55:58 Yeah, somebody said it earlier.
00:56:00 It wasn't my first time saying it.
00:56:03 But I originally thought, size-wise,
00:56:05 I was thinking like Brandon Bass,
00:56:08 without the 18-footer or 15-footer that Bass has.
00:56:10 Leon Poe.
00:56:11 Leon Poe, same idea, exactly.
00:56:13 Guys that are--
00:56:15 I don't know if he's going to drop--
00:56:16 he's not going to drop 24 from game two of the finals.
00:56:18 But--
00:56:19 Real quick, shout-out, Shosa.
00:56:20 Thank you for the super chat.
00:56:21 And yes, we do think the Southerners can
00:56:23 compete with the Clippers and the Nuggets.
00:56:24 Just wanted to give a shout-out.
00:56:25 Oh, absolutely.
00:56:26 They can compete with anybody.
00:56:28 It's not a--
00:56:28 Yeah.
00:56:29 They're not chasing anybody.
00:56:31 They're--
00:56:33 They got the bullseye.
00:56:35 He gave us $10, too.
00:56:36 Thank you, Pete.
00:56:37 And this is why I didn't care about the deadline.
00:56:39 I like that they did this.
00:56:40 It's fine.
00:56:41 It's insurance.
00:56:42 They didn't need anything, because you
00:56:44 have all the talent you need.
00:56:45 And yeah, you're right, Jimmy.
00:56:47 You might have needed some insurance.
00:56:48 But you, fully healthy, have all the talent
00:56:51 you need to win it all.
00:56:52 There's no keeping up with other teams
00:56:53 or matching up and this and that.
00:56:55 They have what they need here.
00:56:56 It's going to be a mentality thing.
00:56:58 It's going to be a consistency, night-to-night, quarter-to-quarter
00:57:01 thing.
00:57:02 Don't you feel more comfortable with this guy coming in than--
00:57:04 Oh, yeah.
00:57:05 No offense to Keita, but this guy's more proven in the league.
00:57:09 You couldn't play Keita for a second in the playoffs.
00:57:11 No chance.
00:57:13 Well, they were lining up to have that possibility,
00:57:16 though, before this--
00:57:18 I don't think he was going to get there.
00:57:20 I don't think he was going to--
00:57:21 It all depends.
00:57:21 I mean, I'm listening.
00:57:22 Again, it's a couple minutes here or there.
00:57:24 But point being, if something happened to Horford or Cornett,
00:57:27 I mean, you were very thin at that--
00:57:29 You were in trouble.
00:57:30 --big position.
00:57:30 So I feel like this is a guy that, all right, Tillman,
00:57:33 get in there.
00:57:34 And no one's like, ah, here we go.
00:57:36 He's going to go in there and do his thing, be energy, physicality.
00:57:41 He can switch on defense.
00:57:42 We talked about that earlier.
00:57:43 I think that was one of the reasons why Brad brought him in here
00:57:46 is because he doesn't have to worry about--
00:57:48 again, when Luke's in there, you know where Luke's going to be playing.
00:57:52 Same thing with probably Keita to an extent.
00:57:54 We just went past the comments from, I think it was,
00:57:57 Arjen, who talked about who a guy like Tillman could be really well
00:58:00 matched up.
00:58:01 Cleveland, New York, Milwaukee, those type of teams,
00:58:04 that's why he's here.
00:58:06 That is why you have a guy like that.
00:58:08 Because he may go 8, 9, 10 games without playing.
00:58:10 But if you're playing a team like Milwaukee or New York in the first
00:58:14 or second round-- well, in the second round,
00:58:17 you're going to need a guy like that.
00:58:19 And as much as I love Keita and think he's got a chance
00:58:24 to be a decent player, he ain't ready for that kind of smoke.
00:58:27 This is a good point, too, is right now, from a physical standpoint,
00:58:31 you're having Holiday match up against physical guys
00:58:35 just simply because he can bang with them instead of Porzingis.
00:58:40 So this changes that, too.
00:58:41 Obviously not in the starting lineup, but you
00:58:43 have another guy in there who can come in and body and--
00:58:45 I'm going to keep going back.
00:58:46 I'm going to keep going back to what you said, though, John.
00:58:49 Does he have John--
00:58:51 does he have Joe's trust?
00:58:52 I know he has John's--
00:58:53 Not yet.
00:58:53 Not yet.
00:58:55 And can he get there in time?
00:58:57 Because Cornette has Joe's trust.
00:59:00 He knows he can play the system.
00:59:01 He's comfortable with him.
00:59:03 Is that going to be the guy he leans on in that dynamic there?
00:59:06 Because, John, he didn't sound very excited about the possibilities
00:59:10 of using him there.
00:59:11 It's like, oh, he's going to have to--
00:59:12 Because he doesn't like you guys.
00:59:13 Yeah.
00:59:13 He's going to have to get caught up and figure out this defense
00:59:16 and this and that.
00:59:17 It's because he was told to be normal tonight,
00:59:19 and it took all the wind out of his sails.
00:59:21 He doesn't know how to act right now.
00:59:22 That's why he's not excited.
00:59:24 And we don't know how much he has actually--
00:59:27 how familiar he is with him other than maybe the few clips
00:59:30 you've seen and maybe in some of the game preparation for Memphis.
00:59:33 Jimmy sent him a YouTube video, and that's all he saw.
00:59:37 But yeah, I mean, I think--
00:59:39 He doesn't watch NBA games.
00:59:40 I'm watching one right now.
00:59:41 Right now.
00:59:42 It's called-- this YouTube video is called Xavier Tillman
00:59:45 is a Basketball Genius, and it's 11 minutes long.
00:59:49 By Jimmy Toscano?
00:59:49 And it was made four months ago.
00:59:50 Yeah, it sounds like you're narrating it.
00:59:52 I was going to say, narrated by Jimmy Toscano.
00:59:54 Xavier Tillman is a Basketball Genius is the name of this 11-minute video.
00:59:59 So yeah, I think they got--
01:00:01 I mean, apparently they got a basketball--
01:00:03 You got to do that again, I assume.
01:00:04 Yeah, replay that.
01:00:05 They got the Albert Einstein of basketball.
01:00:06 I'm going to watch all 11 minutes of this after our podcast.
01:00:12 And by the way, Shiraz, right off the bat,
01:00:15 he talks about how he is a very underrated offensive player,
01:00:18 not because of the scoring, but because of the passing he said right after that.
01:00:22 Right, yeah.
01:00:22 So I think we're going to be pleasantly surprised maybe by that.
01:00:27 I can buy that.
01:00:29 But the traditional way to get buckets, which
01:00:31 is where you take the ball and you put it in a rim,
01:00:33 I don't think he's very good at that.
01:00:35 No, and our guy, Tomeiko there earlier said,
01:00:41 you could put a guard or forward on him, and he's
01:00:43 going to have trouble exposing him.
01:00:45 Yeah, exactly.
01:00:46 Just drift off of them.
01:00:47 Real quick, let's get into--
01:00:50 But $2 million, you can't beat that, John.
01:00:52 It's reported--
01:00:53 No.
01:00:54 I mean, he's basically Steven's salary, too.
01:00:56 It's reported the Celtics want to add another player.
01:00:58 They do have the grant TPE, and that's probably
01:01:00 where you're going to slide something into.
01:01:02 $6.2 million, is that right, Bobby?
01:01:05 Yeah.
01:01:06 All right, two things I want to talk about before we go.
01:01:08 First, everyone give me your wish list here in that $6 million range,
01:01:12 assuming that's what you're going with.
01:01:14 Or who's a player you'd like-- now that you've seen,
01:01:16 they've added the banger, the banger big here, who can swing balls.
01:01:21 Swinging balls and banging.
01:01:23 Does that mean I can make the outro?
01:01:27 Swinging balls.
01:01:28 Who do you guys want?
01:01:32 What's on your wish list?
01:01:35 I'll let Josue go first with his, because I already know--
01:01:37 Sadiq Bae, next.
01:01:38 Bobby.
01:01:39 No, it's not Sadiq Bae.
01:01:41 You kidding me?
01:01:41 You think those guys will let him go?
01:01:42 He just went off today.
01:01:44 He has--
01:01:44 He's in a contract year also.
01:01:46 You got to pay the guy, or you just-- what are you going to do with him?
01:01:48 I think it might be another Hawk on the move, but I don't know.
01:01:51 We'll see.
01:01:52 The one who didn't play tonight?
01:01:53 The one that didn't play, exactly.
01:01:54 We'll see.
01:01:55 I think that happened.
01:01:56 But I'm going--
01:01:58 Lonnie Walker.
01:01:59 I'm going to go with Lonnie Walker, because I liked him earlier.
01:02:03 Yeah, I was thinking that, Jimmy, but I'm going--
01:02:05 I like Otto Porter Jr., man.
01:02:08 Get a callback.
01:02:09 Soft.
01:02:10 Georgetown Soft, next.
01:02:11 You know, Green D, kind of clean up the corner.
01:02:13 I mean, look, this team right now, that's--
01:02:16 Sherrod's not impressed.
01:02:17 I honestly thought they would go for a wing position guy
01:02:19 before they would get someone like Tillman,
01:02:20 but Tillman does check a lot of those boxes, so it makes a lot of sense.
01:02:23 But yeah, I mean, Lonnie Walker the fourth,
01:02:26 how much trust do you have in Pritchard?
01:02:28 I'm kind of on the fence with that.
01:02:29 I'm still kind of thinking they still need to prioritize a backup wing,
01:02:34 so I'm going to go him.
01:02:36 I know it's not the craziest, not the most attractive name, but--
01:02:39 I've always wanted a wing.
01:02:40 I don't hate it.
01:02:41 I don't hate it.
01:02:42 Lonnie Walker the fourth.
01:02:44 Lonnie Walker cooks, by the way.
01:02:46 His point per minute--
01:02:48 his point per 36 is like 40 points a game.
01:02:50 I mean, look at those mark away guys.
01:02:52 He cooked the Celtics.
01:02:54 Again, how much trust do you guys have in Pritchard?
01:02:56 He had a good game in one of those Brooklyn games on the road.
01:02:59 If you bring in someone like Walker the fourth,
01:03:02 then that means Pritchard is getting buried.
01:03:04 He's making peanuts, right?
01:03:05 He's making absolutely nothing.
01:03:06 Yeah, he's making the minimum, so you don't even
01:03:08 have to use the TP just to program it to the minimum.
01:03:11 Sign him next year, too.
01:03:13 Yeah, I don't know what that costs.
01:03:14 You need to sign him, obviously.
01:03:16 He's playing for a contract, so I think that complicates things a little bit,
01:03:19 especially if he's not playing a big role here.
01:03:22 I don't know.
01:03:23 Fontecchio went, obviously, early to Detroit.
01:03:25 That's a name you heard a lot with them.
01:03:27 Conchar is a name I like.
01:03:29 Probably doesn't make sense now with Tillman here.
01:03:32 So there's not a lot of good wings.
01:03:34 Like Jalen McDaniels is probably someone you think about.
01:03:36 I think they've been connected to him in the past up in Toronto.
01:03:39 Not a great player, but a young wing.
01:03:41 Maybe a guy you can keep for relatively cheap.
01:03:44 I think you've got to think of something like that.
01:03:46 And then I think another guy they've always kind of liked
01:03:48 is Torrey Craig in Chicago, who, again, doesn't have to play,
01:03:52 can be that depth piece, can defend, can be a little bit of a veteran presence,
01:03:56 too.
01:03:56 He's been on some good teams.
01:03:58 What trait do you covet?
01:04:00 What trait do you covet the most?
01:04:01 What type-- even if you can't get one of those, what's the thing you want to see?
01:04:05 Got to be funny.
01:04:06 Got to be funny.
01:04:07 Oh, OK.
01:04:09 I think it's going to be--
01:04:10 I was late with that.
01:04:14 I was like, what?
01:04:15 Funny.
01:04:16 I think it's going to be--
01:04:17 Good with kids.
01:04:18 Down to earth.
01:04:20 I don't write at our age.
01:04:22 Good with kids.
01:04:23 Plays well with others.
01:04:25 Has to play well with others.
01:04:26 Doesn't take themselves too seriously.
01:04:30 Swipe.
01:04:31 Swipe.
01:04:32 Let's think about it.
01:04:33 Let's think about it just like--
01:04:35 let's think about it just like the Tillman.
01:04:37 What does that have to do with the players?
01:04:39 Let's think about it like the Tillman example here.
01:04:45 You're probably not going to need him, but in an emergency,
01:04:48 what does he give you?
01:04:50 I think if you're in an emergency where, let's say,
01:04:52 Brown misses a game or something, can you
01:04:55 put a big wing out there who can make a shot, who can defend capably
01:04:59 at that position with size?
01:05:00 Because one of the big things we looked at with this bench,
01:05:03 John, is they're good in their roles, but if someone goes down above them,
01:05:07 you're not slanting in Hauser for Brown, Tatum, or even a waiter holiday.
01:05:11 No, you're just saying, crap.
01:05:13 Yeah, you're just throwing them out there and saying, yeah.
01:05:16 So again, none of the names I'm listing are
01:05:18 going to save you for a long-term absence with any of those guys,
01:05:21 but Jalen misses one game.
01:05:24 Drew misses one game.
01:05:25 Can you throw out a Jalen McDaniels in that case
01:05:27 and get some good minutes from him?
01:05:29 Can you throw in a Torrey Craig in those situations
01:05:31 and get good minutes from him?
01:05:33 Here's the last thing I want to hit.
01:05:35 A lot of people saying this, and this is a perfectly fair comment here
01:05:39 by Derek, and I'm seeing a bunch of it in the chat.
01:05:43 Roster's good enough.
01:05:44 Even if you didn't add Tillman and you don't add anything else,
01:05:47 right now you're looking at the roster and you're thinking,
01:05:50 they're fine, right?
01:05:51 But we've already seen Indiana, Miami, and kind of load up a little bit
01:05:59 with the acquisitions that they made earlier in the year.
01:06:03 What other team are you worried is going to do something big
01:06:06 and possibly, if not leapfrog, you get up into your stratosphere?
01:06:10 Brown, Bruce Brown.
01:06:15 I don't know.
01:06:16 Or bigger.
01:06:16 Swing big, big.
01:06:18 Who are you worried--
01:06:19 Bruce Brown is sweet.
01:06:20 I always feel like Milwaukee's going to find a way to do something big.
01:06:23 I'm thinking Brown.
01:06:24 They have to, though.
01:06:25 You think they go big?
01:06:28 Yeah, combine all those contracts, all their picks.
01:06:30 And take a big--
01:06:33 I mean, geez, somebody's talking today about LeBron moving.
01:06:36 I'm not saying LeBron, but I'm saying a big move.
01:06:39 Anybody worried?
01:06:41 No.
01:06:42 I don't think they can, John.
01:06:43 I don't think they have enough.
01:06:44 Let's say it's Murray, in this case.
01:06:47 Probably the biggest move.
01:06:48 They've been interested in Murray.
01:06:50 They'll probably put everything on the table for Murray.
01:06:52 But is four seconds, Portis, Connerton, and Kane enough?
01:06:57 They need first.
01:06:59 They don't have any first.
01:07:00 They don't have any first.
01:07:01 They can't do it.
01:07:01 Yeah, they don't have anything.
01:07:02 That's why I can see them trying to get someone like--
01:07:05 I hate to say it.
01:07:06 Their season's starting to feel--
01:07:09 their season's starting to feel a little like that '19 Celtics
01:07:11 season.
01:07:12 You just keep thinking it's going to turn around
01:07:13 at some point, and it never does.
01:07:15 [INTERPOSING VOICES]
01:07:16 I'm not feeling that at all, Bobby.
01:07:17 Milwaukee?
01:07:19 I worry about Indiana a little bit,
01:07:21 because they've got some interesting pieces
01:07:25 on their roster.
01:07:25 And they got a coach who he's won a chip.
01:07:29 You look at--
01:07:30 Indiana's a team that makes me a little bit nervous,
01:07:32 because the way that they're scoring the ball,
01:07:34 if they were to maybe move out one of those offensive pieces
01:07:38 and bring in an elite defender, they'd
01:07:40 become a much better team.
01:07:41 Because they're still going to be
01:07:42 a team that gets a bunch of points,
01:07:43 no matter who they unload, as long as it's not Halliburton.
01:07:47 If they can add a wing defender or post defender,
01:07:52 they could be a team that could make things interesting.
01:07:55 New York worries me.
01:07:56 It's safe to say they're not moving Halliburton.
01:07:57 For another move.
01:07:58 I think it's very safe to say that, Jimmy, yes.
01:08:00 Yeah.
01:08:01 Listen, I've been saying Indy for the last month or so.
01:08:05 You think they could beat them, though, Jimmy?
01:08:07 Bobby, what I said was in a seven-game series,
01:08:09 you meet them in the second round,
01:08:11 they're going to make it difficult for you.
01:08:13 They're going to make you run.
01:08:15 They're going to tire you out.
01:08:16 They are going to win a couple of games.
01:08:18 I'm not saying, oh, I'm taking the patience
01:08:20 in a seven-game series.
01:08:21 But I don't know what--
01:08:22 I mean, they just traded for Siakam.
01:08:23 And he hasn't even had a whole lot of time with Halliburton
01:08:26 to really see what they've got there.
01:08:28 So they're a threat, definitely.
01:08:30 They're more of a threat than the Sixers are now without Embiid.
01:08:33 Oh, yeah.
01:08:33 Now, it sounds like Embiid might be back.
01:08:36 We're not really sure.
01:08:37 They're going to obviously--
01:08:38 And they've got a hell of a coach in Rick Carlisle.
01:08:40 Yeah, they have a great coach.
01:08:43 We haven't even mentioned the Cavs.
01:08:44 The Cavs are playing great basketball right now, too.
01:08:46 I don't know what to make of them yet.
01:08:48 I don't either.
01:08:48 I need to see them a little bit more.
01:08:50 But the point is, I think the Celtics will
01:08:55 cruise in the first round.
01:08:56 And then I think it's going to get difficult.
01:08:58 I'm not saying I'm going to take the other team in a series,
01:09:00 but it's not going to be a cakewalk.
01:09:02 So I like the Tillman pickup, even though it's minor.
01:09:05 Brings them a little bit of physicality if they do get into--
01:09:08 a Knicks matchup, for example.
01:09:10 The Knicks are a physical, hard-nosed defensive team.
01:09:13 And that's the type of guy that you'd probably
01:09:15 want to utilize in that type of a series.
01:09:17 So maybe that's something that they're thinking ahead on.
01:09:19 I don't know.
01:09:19 But I like what he can give you in that situation, at least.
01:09:23 Yeah.
01:09:23 I got one other thing if we're done.
01:09:27 Yeah, we're going to wrap it up.
01:09:29 And I'll tell you guys--
01:09:30 well, go ahead, Jimmy.
01:09:31 No, I'll wait.
01:09:32 It's really--
01:09:33 No, no, no.
01:09:34 Before we wrap it, I'm going to have a message for everyone.
01:09:36 But yeah.
01:09:37 Oh, so my buddy-- shout out to my buddy, Shift, tonight.
01:09:41 He went to the game.
01:09:42 He was at the Harp before the game.
01:09:45 The Harp is the restaurant bar across the street
01:09:47 from the TD Garden.
01:09:48 Guess who comes strutting in the Harp tonight?
01:09:53 None other than Wick Grosbeck himself.
01:09:57 You didn't give us a guess.
01:09:58 I know.
01:09:59 That was a quick guess.
01:10:00 You weren't going to guess.
01:10:00 I was going to say Tillman.
01:10:02 You weren't going to guess.
01:10:03 I wanted to get to it.
01:10:04 He walks in, comes strutting in, says something to the staff.
01:10:09 Wick opens up a tab for the entire bar
01:10:11 at the Harp before the game tonight.
01:10:13 So nobody should be worried about Wick's money.
01:10:16 I thought he was poor.
01:10:17 Here's your second apron.
01:10:19 I thought he was poor.
01:10:21 I got your second apron.
01:10:22 Yeah, I got your second apron right here.
01:10:25 I don't want anyone saying, oh, the Celtics
01:10:27 aren't going to pay.
01:10:28 Because if Wick's opening up tabs at the bar,
01:10:30 and he went around--
01:10:32 apparently he went around to the tables and said,
01:10:34 hey, thanks for being a fan.
01:10:36 Next round's on me.
01:10:37 So he actually pulled out the wallet tonight at the Harp.
01:10:41 So if you were at the Harp, you got yourself--
01:10:43 I think you got yourself a free drink.
01:10:45 Cinkoro.
01:10:46 He's obviously-- yeah, Cinkoro must be Celt.
01:10:48 Yeah, he's probably pushing that.
01:10:50 Yeah, everyone had to have Cinkoro.
01:10:52 That stuff is good, man.
01:10:54 Seriously, it's really good.
01:10:56 Yeah, it's pretty good.
01:10:58 Anyway, so money ain't no thang.
01:11:01 Meanwhile, John Henry-- don't get me started on that guy.
01:11:04 John Henry.
01:11:05 John Henry is--
01:11:07 He's not buying out the bar anymore.
01:11:08 I think he's collecting cans around Fenway Park.
01:11:10 Yeah, he'd have people pulling out Venmos.
01:11:14 John Henry won't spend a cent of his money on the Red Sox.
01:11:17 He's only spending it-- whatever he collects in cans
01:11:20 around Fenway and deposits for $0.05 is what he's
01:11:23 spending on the Red Sox.
01:11:25 Schiff, S-H-I-F. Shout out, Schiff.
01:11:28 You would have a fucking Schiff.
01:11:30 It's a nickname.
01:11:31 Yeah.
01:11:32 Evan Marinovsky has a friend named Lenny Vegas.
01:11:35 I like that.
01:11:36 I can't be a real name.
01:11:37 Yeah, I'm like, that's--
01:11:39 Lenny Vegas is an elite name.
01:11:41 It's an elite name.
01:11:42 It's great.
01:11:43 I see it on his Venmo transactions.
01:11:45 Like, oh, there's Marinovsky sending money
01:11:48 to Lenny Vegas again.
01:11:49 That looks like it's on the up and up.
01:11:51 Sounds like another--
01:11:53 Sounds like you should probably check out FanDuel.
01:11:56 Yeah.
01:11:57 I'm still doing that.
01:11:58 Come on, we have a code, Evan.
01:12:00 Yeah.
01:12:01 Yeah, seriously.
01:12:02 Yeah.
01:12:03 All right, we'll see what happens.
01:12:05 As we said, tomorrow, the trade deadline,
01:12:09 we are going to have a special--
01:12:12 trade deadline special tomorrow.
01:12:16 Look for us.
01:12:17 We're waiting to see what kind of activity we get.
01:12:19 If there's breaking news, Celtics make a trade,
01:12:21 we may pop in there and just jump in and go live
01:12:24 as soon as that happens.
01:12:26 If not, we'll kind of hang around,
01:12:28 jump in prior to the deadline, maybe 2 o'clock, 2:30-ish,
01:12:31 and just take you all the way through, track all the moves
01:12:34 if there are any league wide, and talk about what
01:12:37 the Celtics do, don't do, should have done,
01:12:41 coulda, woulda, shoulda.
01:12:42 But we'll be hanging out, and we'll be kind of just
01:12:47 experiencing it in real time as you are as well.
01:12:51 So join us here, CLNS Media, subscribe.
01:12:54 Hit that subscribe button, and turn on your notifications.
01:12:59 That way you'll know when we go live.
01:13:01 And join us and hang out.
01:13:03 Middle of the afternoon, let's talk some trades.
01:13:05 Why not?
01:13:05 Who do they play Friday?
01:13:07 Wizards.
01:13:08 The Wizards.
01:13:09 Wank, wank.
01:13:10 All right, fine.
01:13:12 The Wiz.
01:13:13 I think you're going to pull up--
01:13:14 Maybe we'll get Tilman.
01:13:15 We'll get some Tilman on Friday.
01:13:18 Subscribe.
01:13:21 Subscribe.
01:13:22 I might have said that.
01:13:23 Who knows?
01:13:25 I didn't say swinging my balls around, though.
01:13:26 I know that.
01:13:28 Nobody said that.
01:13:29 Worst of the worst.
01:13:29 Yeah.
01:13:30 [LAUGHTER]
01:13:33 I'm pretty sure I didn't say that.
01:13:34 You were probably thinking it.
01:13:36 I was thinking it.
01:13:36 I was thinking it.
01:13:37 Tell him he plays basketball around the court.
01:13:40 Yeah, he is passing it.
01:13:41 How about you, Joe Sway?
01:13:43 Swing it.
01:13:44 He's getting his rocks off.
01:13:47 See?
01:13:47 And on that note--
01:13:48 I mean, passing the rock.
01:13:50 I'd be like, all right.
01:13:51 He can pass the rock.
01:13:53 What?
01:13:53 It's gone.
01:13:56 It's time to go.
01:13:56 On that note--
01:13:57 It's time to go.
01:13:58 It is time to go.
01:13:59 It's time to go.
01:14:00 I got to get my red lights on.
01:14:01 I got to get my red lights on, guys.
01:14:03 It's late.
01:14:04 OK.
01:14:05 I'm on my red lights.
01:14:06 I'm on my red lights at night now.
01:14:07 It's a Huberman deep cut.
01:14:09 You've got to go a red light at night,
01:14:10 get the circadian rhythm back in motion.
01:14:12 Does anyone know what this means?
01:14:14 I don't want to say.
01:14:16 There's 1,000 people in this watching right now.
01:14:18 I would say-- listen, it's probably the 1% of us.
01:14:23 It's the 1% of us.
01:14:24 No.
01:14:25 The 1% of us.
01:14:26 We'll carry the rest of the 99, guys.
01:14:28 We'll get you guys on red light therapy coming up soon.
01:14:31 Not even therapy.
01:14:32 It's red light.
01:14:33 Let's do that.
01:14:35 But yeah, as soon as we shut this off,
01:14:37 red lights are going on.
01:14:38 Yeah, are you taping your mouth too, Blurp?
01:14:40 Blurp would like to know.
01:14:43 Here we go.
01:14:44 Mouth tape.
01:14:45 Hold on, hold on, hold on.
01:14:47 I'm going to shut this off.
01:14:49 This would be right in my face for the rest of the night.
01:14:56 No more regular life.
01:14:57 This is helping you sleep?
01:14:58 What's it supposed to do?
01:14:59 You can't see that it's red, but it's--
01:15:01 It's helping me sleep.
01:15:03 You can't see that it's-- hold on one second.
01:15:05 Hold on one second.
01:15:06 No, no, Jimmy.
01:15:07 Hold on one second.
01:15:08 We're going to get--
01:15:09 No, we're not going to hold on a second.
01:15:11 We're going to go away, Jimmy.
01:15:12 We're going to go the hell away.
01:15:13 It's dropped.
01:15:15 There it is.
01:15:15 It's Washington, red lights.
01:15:17 What the hell, Jimmy?
01:15:18 This isn't a club.
01:15:19 This isn't a club.
01:15:20 Vibes are cool in here.
01:15:21 Oh, man, it's just red light, red light.
01:15:23 Just like-- my eyes are already adapting to the nighttime,
01:15:31 just like that.
01:15:32 Pretty cool stuff, guys.
01:15:33 We will see you when we see you.
01:15:35 Look, Jimmy, red light.
01:15:36 Ooh.
01:15:37 [LAUGHTER]
01:15:38 Ooh.
01:15:39 Oh, Jimmy's night light over here.
01:15:41 Don't fall asleep, Chad.
01:15:44 I am light.
01:15:44 I am love.
01:15:45 It was-- Fuzzy says, worth it.
01:15:48 Totally worth it.
01:15:50 All right, play the outro.
01:15:51 I might do all the shows like this from now on.
01:15:53 Bye.
01:15:54 Is this Shifty approved, Jimmy?
01:15:57 That's what I want to know.
01:15:58 Is Shifty approved?
01:15:59 Is Shifty approved?
01:16:00 Yes.
01:16:01 All right, we will see you guys tomorrow, NBA trade deadline.
01:16:04 Celtics loading up.
01:16:06 Good night.
01:16:07 Wait, Amin's got an outro for us, I think.
01:16:09 No, he doesn't.
01:16:10 He said he was going to work on an outro.
01:16:12 He had a phenomenal game.
01:16:14 Phenomenal game.
01:16:17 Porfrit's out.
01:16:18 I think it's an option.
01:16:19 [LAUGHTER]
01:16:23 That did not sound like a chair.
01:16:24 It was a freaking chair.
01:16:26 It does sound like a chair.
01:16:28 (upbeat music)
01:16:31 (upbeat music)
