00:00 "The Dharam has been implemented in 146 places. All the borders have been sealed.
00:04 Heavy police force has been deployed at all the borders.
00:07 The security system has been properly inspected.
00:14 The borders have been sealed for 24 hours."
00:17 Farmers in both the city of Noida and Greater Noida have escalated their protests
00:23 through the Kisan Mahapanchayat on Wednesday,
00:26 demanding developed plots from the government.
00:29 Additionally, they have announced a march to Parliament today morning,
00:33 which is expected to disrupt traffic on the Noida Expressway and at Delhi borders.
00:38 According to media reports, police has issued a traffic diversion plan
00:41 and Section 144 of the CRPC has been imposed district-wide.
00:46 Organised by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sabha,
00:50 farmers gathered outside the NTPC office in Noida Sector 24
00:54 and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority's office,
00:57 pressing for a 10 per cent abadi land.
00:59 Around 3,000 farmers plan to assemble at the Harola Community Centre in Sector 5,
01:04 moving toward the Sandhi paper mill and Abdiog Marg
01:07 before reaching to Sector 15 roundabout to Delhi border.
01:10 This march aims to exert pressure on the Lucknow State Government,
01:14 which has delayed addressing their demands for over five months.
01:17 In total, farmers from more than 40 villages have been camping for five months,
01:22 while those in Noida have been protesting outside the Noida Authority Sector 6 office
01:26 for more than two months, demanding 10 per cent abadi plots
01:29 and better compensation for acquired land.
01:32 Sukhbir Khalifa, leading the Noida protest, has emphasised the need for employment opportunities,
01:37 schools and hospitals for farmers' families.
01:40 Wednesday's Mahapanchayat served as a platform to address the discontent among farmers
01:45 who provided land for development,
01:46 but accuses the government of receiving only 6 per cent of the abadi plots.
01:51 Meanwhile, in Greater Noida, camps have been set up to assess farmers' eligibility for these plots.
01:57 The Noida Police has pre-emptively diverted traffic from Sector 15 to Jhundpura
02:02 and Sandhi paper mill to Captain Vijayan Thapar Marg in anticipation of the march.
02:06 However, farmers are yet to finalise the route toward Delhi,
02:09 whether through the Noida Expressway, Chilla border or the DND flyway.
02:13 The situation resonates to what happened almost four years ago
02:17 when the farmers from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh blocked the key routes to National Capital
02:23 in protest of the new farm laws.
02:25 The protest ended after one and a half year when the Government of India decided to withdraw the law over security concern.
02:32 And now, these protests are starting to erupt just before the commencement of the National General Elections in 2024,
02:38 raising worries that the protest may hinder the election outcome.
