In this interview, Jonathan talks about his character and about in which way playing Jesus has impacted his personal life. 00:00 Why did you want to step into the role of Jesus?
00:04 It was offered to me and so I I had to take it
00:09 I needed to work and I love Jesus and so it just seemed like a great fit
00:15 And I'm glad I did here. We are four seasons later. What was the biggest challenge for you?

00:24 I think the biggest challenge came this season
00:28 Telling the stories that we had to tell this season
00:31 There's there's a lot going on in season four. There's a lot of storylines that take various turns
00:39 some a little harder than others so
00:43 It was a emotionally charged season for for not just for me
00:49 But for all of us in which way playing Jesus has impacted your personal life. It's increased my faith
00:56 Playing Jesus has deepened my faith
00:58 Made me want to be more like him in my personal life. I think I think that's how it's most impacted me
01:06 And what have you learned from him?
01:08 that he is
01:11 Merciful and gracious and forgiving
01:14 But it takes work to be a follower of Jesus. What can the audience expect from these four seasons?
01:22 I think they can expect a lot of the unexpected with some of our storylines
01:28 I think they can expect to see the tensions getting
01:31 stronger between the disciples and the authorities and the Romans and
01:36 Jesus in is in the center of it all
01:39 Trying to keep everybody calm, but also knowing that he has a mission to fulfill and the only way to get there
01:48 Where he needs to go
01:50 Is by possibly upsetting a lot of powerful people
01:54 How is the vibe working on set with the rest of the cast with the crew?
01:59 You must be a big family by now. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's been great. It's been
02:04 Probably one of if not the best set experience that I've ever had
02:09 everybody is just so close and supportive of each other and
02:13 yeah, it is it's a big family from from all different backgrounds and walks of life and
02:20 And we get along great people identify with so many of these different characters and the struggles that they go through
02:27 That we've never really seen
02:29 Depicted before in this way in ways that are relatable to a modern-day audience. So I think that's what really
02:37 Connects them to the story and to its characters
02:41 How important are shows like the chosen now, especially with everything is happening in the world
02:50 I think it's important to always offer people hope and encouragement and
02:55 I think our show aims to do that by telling the story of Jesus and and his followers
