00:04 Like many other herbivores, these majestic creatures need sodium and other minerals for

00:09 health, especially in winter when their diet lacks variety and abundance due to snow-covered

00:15 greenery.

00:16 So, they brave traffic and lick salt from gridded roads and even cars to obtain the

00:21 necessary sodium for their bodily functions.

00:24 However, allowing them to do that might cause moose to slowly lose their fears of cars and

00:30 instead start associating them with salt snacks, which could lead to dangerous car accidents.

00:38 And with January and February being the darkest months, spotting them on the roads gets even

00:43 tougher in low light, especially the dark-colored ones.

00:47 That's why if you see a moose, don't stop, drive away slowly and carefully get your car

00:52 washed elsewhere!
