00:00 So you've been killing it at Grammy Week, so tell me how exciting is it to just go from event to event and celebrate music?
00:06 It is so exciting to, you know, my whole childhood I dreamed of being allowed into these events.
00:13 Like the Clive Davis party is legendary. I've dreamed of this for so long.
00:17 And to get to be here as someone nominated for Songwriter of the Year, a very new category, you know.
00:24 I'm one of the first ten people to ever get this nomination. It's just, I can't believe it, you know.
00:29 Like, what a dream come true.
00:31 When you look back on your songwriting, which was the one that made you, like, changed everything for you?
00:36 Well, my first hit, I think it's the easiest one to point out, right?
00:39 Because it's hard, you love all your babies, all the song babies.
00:42 But my first hit was Fall Out Boy's "Centuries," which has gone on to become a huge sports anthem,
00:48 which is so funny because I'm not a sport person.
00:51 You sure about that?
00:52 No.
00:53 Not going to the Super Bowl?
00:54 Not Super Bowl lane. But it's kind of like a beautiful, like, poetic justice of, like, this very femme, queer person.
01:01 Their first hit, their first break into the industry is a football anthem.
01:05 I love that for you. And then tell me, what's a song that you wish you wrote that's somebody else's song?
01:10 What Was I Made For, Billie Eilish and Finneas, I think is one of the best songs of all time.
01:16 And it happens to be nominated for this year.
01:18 year.
