02:22 Speaking of the Grammys, Justin Tranz has stopped by
02:26 to celebrate their Grammy nomination,
02:27 which is well deserved.
02:29 - Last year was the first year the category existed
02:31 and I had my hopes way the fuck up
02:35 and I did not get nominated.
02:36 So this year I kept my hopes very low.
02:38 Me and my amazing publicist did no campaigning.
02:42 We just, I just, I just, I of course submitted myself
02:47 and was very proud of the songs that I submitted,
02:50 but I just intentionally did not get my hopes up.
02:53 And right before the nominations came,
02:56 went to go walk my dog, was not watching.
02:59 I really truly thought that was not,
03:01 was not gonna get nominated.
03:02 So walking my dog and then all of a sudden
03:04 I looked down at my phone
03:05 and there's like 300 text messages.
03:08 - That's great.
03:09 - Yeah.
03:10 - That's great.
03:10 I actually just got goosebumps.
03:11 Did you stop in your tracks?
03:12 - Oh, I was like screaming in the middle of the street
03:14 like a crazy person.
03:14 (laughing)
03:16 It's like, wait, why are there so many texts?
03:18 What's happening?
03:18 My dog's looking at me confused.
03:19 It was, it was great.
03:20 - I think it's important because we almost always
03:25 get the short end of the stick in this business.
03:29 We're kind of always thought of last.
03:32 We're always treated the worst.
03:34 And I do think it is intentional
03:37 because we are so powerful
03:40 that if we are allowed to recognize our power
03:45 and flex our power, we would run the industry
03:47 and people don't want that.
03:49 - Sure.
03:50 - So I think that this award is very important
03:53 because it lends visibility to songwriters
03:56 and without visibility, we have no power
03:59 because we live in a world where like,
04:02 if you can't see something, if you can't hear something,
04:05 it doesn't exist.
