00:00 We're getting through this, says the gambler.
00:04 I think it's really important that we create a kind of library
00:10 where people can understand what it took to keep our country free.
00:14 And action!
00:16 There is an era that has to be recreated here.
00:20 And there is no way to have this level of authenticity without all of our great artists.
00:25 Shout out to Colleen. Four time Oscar winner. Stop playing with her.
00:27 Colleen Atwood is the legend of legends. I feel so fortunate that we had her.
00:32 Colleen is incredible. She really brings the characters to the costumes.
00:37 I started way before we started shooting, manufacturing the leathers that pilots wore
00:43 because no place in the world had them.
00:45 And I needed for each character three or four versions of their costume.
00:49 The target for today is Berlin.
00:52 We did find a few B-17s in the world that do occasionally fly,
00:58 but they weren't going to get us through production.
01:00 So we built two B-17s.
01:03 All right, boys, huddle up.
01:05 We ended up building full exteriors and then all the interior pieces.
01:11 That was pretty much a year's work.
01:13 This looks great. Every authentic detail in here.
01:16 The combination of the construction of the plane with content walls
01:20 gave the boys the real feeling of fighters going by and shooting at them.
01:24 And I think it helped their reactions and them really feeling what the terror might be like.
01:30 Open fire. Let him have it.
01:32 The volume is a gift. It's phenomenal.
01:34 The gimbal's moving and you're looking at that plane as soon as it passes.
01:37 You're in the plane. You're fighting.
01:39 This project, it's an absolute dream come true.
01:43 And you end up getting in this flow where it becomes your life.
01:48 You just feel so blessed to be a part of it.
