Rams Coaching Staff Among Most Coveted in NFL

00:00 Well, the Los Angeles Rams have lost yet another assistant coach this offseason

00:04 as assistant special teams coach Jeremy Springer has been hired to be the

00:08 special teams coach for the New England Patriots per report.

00:12 Ian Rappaport was the one that broke the news on Wednesday morning.

00:15 Springer has been the Rams assistant special teams coach for two seasons and

00:20 he now joins a new look Patriots staff led by the young guy,

00:23 recently hired head coach Jared Mayo.

00:26 Other Rams assistant coaches have departed for greener pastures this offseason like

00:30 defensive coordinator, Rene Morris, who is now the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons.

00:35 And really, it was no surprise to see Rams quarterback coach Zach Robinson

00:39 head eastbound to join the Atlanta Falcons head coach Rene Morris as his

00:43 offensive coordinator.

00:45 Per an announcement from the Falcons,

00:47 they have hired Rams assistant head coach Jimmy Lake as their new defensive

00:51 coordinator as well.

00:53 Lake was most notably the head coach of the Washington Huskies from 2020 to 2021,

00:58 before joining Rams head coach Sean McVay in Los Angeles for the 2023 season.

01:03 Morris, the former Rams defensive coordinator will continue to look at his

01:07 former understudies in Los Angeles as he attempts to put his staff together.

01:12 But as for the Rams, discussions are underway to secure the necessary hires and

01:17 promotions to sustain that defensive growth they saw in 2023.

01:21 It will present a challenging task,

01:23 especially considering the solid reputations of both Morris and Lake.

01:27 And there's a possibility that a veteran name from out of town may get the call for

01:31 one, if not both, of the openings directly below McVay's standing.
