00:00 [MUSIC - "LOVE SONG"]
00:02 Whether they're slaying the stage together on Fox's
00:19 "We Are Family" or bringing the bling on "The Real Housewives,"
00:22 one thing's for sure, this mother-daughter duo
00:25 is the epitome of TV gold.
00:27 It's Kyle Richards and Sophia Umansky, everybody.
00:32 That was humbling.
00:33 That was humbling.
00:33 But hold a minute.
00:35 Hold a minute.
00:35 You are the shyest of all your sisters.
00:39 I am.
00:39 How did you get talked into doing this?
00:41 I don't even know.
00:43 Looking back on it now, I'm like,
00:45 how did you convince me to do this?
00:47 Makes no sense to me.
00:48 I feel like I blacked out.
00:49 I don't even remember doing it.
00:51 It was first a hard no.
00:52 Yeah, and then I said, think about it for the weekend.
00:55 By the way, you're talking about somebody
00:56 who would run from the camera.
00:57 No, but do you think it was because you
00:59 guys have such a great mother-daughter bond that you
01:01 could convince her to do it?
01:03 Or were you a part of the process?
01:04 You know, for me, being a mom of four daughters,
01:07 you don't always have the one-on-one time with them.
01:10 So I thought, this is a chance to step outside of our comfort
01:13 zone and have a little trip together, the two of us.
01:15 We filmed out of town, and I just thought it would be fun
01:18 and challenge ourself.
01:20 This is awesome.
01:21 Speaking of people talking you into doing stuff,
01:24 you and Jeff Lewis have gone back and forth for months.
01:27 He has sent you more flowers than anything.
01:30 Who talked you into going on that podcast?
01:33 I told him the flowers have to stop.
01:34 I've moved on to jewelry now.
01:36 You know, you've seen those slides, right?
01:37 You've seen that I'm accepting jewelry as apologies
01:39 these days, apparently.
01:41 Who convinced me?
01:41 He did.
01:42 His apology really was genuine, and he felt bad about that.
01:46 And you know me.
01:46 I forgive and I forget.
01:47 And I can't hold on to stuff like that.
01:50 Hopefully we have reunion on Friday.
01:51 But when you were on "A Serious Ex-Sim Show,"
01:54 you opened up about how your castmates have
01:57 pushed you to be more open.
01:59 Let's take a look.
02:01 I've shared my life for 13 years on this show.
02:03 My marital issues to rumors about my marriage
02:06 to two siblings that have been cast members on the show
02:09 to my family falling apart.
02:11 And these people are like, oh, be honest.
02:13 Be more honest.
02:14 I'm literally watching you guys with your dating coaches
02:16 and showing your cashmere line.
02:19 Great.
02:21 OK.
02:21 I mean, you know, that was shady, yes.
02:24 But I've shown so much over these 13 years of my life.
02:28 And they don't even know what I've gone through in 13 years.
02:32 They have not gone through what I
02:33 have gone through on the show.
02:35 And not only that, I was honest from right out of the gate.
02:37 The first scene we shot all together,
02:39 I said my husband and I are having a hard time.
02:41 And that was very hard for me to share on camera,
02:43 because I was processing that myself.
02:46 And I hadn't even shared that with--
02:48 we had not even shared that with our daughters yet.
02:50 So I was like, you don't get that, you know,
02:52 everything before our children.
02:53 100%.
02:54 Sorry, I don't care about TV show.
02:55 Where do you stand now?
02:57 Like, is there a chance for a full reconciliation?
02:59 Are you guys still discussing things
03:00 as far as your relationship goes with Mauricio?
03:03 You know, right now we are just taking it a day at a time.
03:06 And we still live in the same house.
03:08 And we get along.
03:10 I mean, our girls never grew up with fighting in the house.
03:12 It's still not like that.
03:14 You know, we just don't argue.
03:16 So it's just trying to work through things and taking it.
03:19 Yeah.
03:20 Slowly.
03:21 Sophia, how's it been for you, you know,
03:22 having your parents in the spotlight
03:25 and having to deal with it?
03:26 It's definitely rough when there's
03:29 so much going on at home.
03:30 I mean, this is already a lot to process in itself.
03:33 And to have the whole world talking about it,
03:37 that's what it feels like, is a lot.
03:40 But I have to say, I am grateful for everything
03:45 that my mom being in the spotlight
03:46 has brought into our lives.
03:47 So it's really-- it's hard to say.
03:50 But right now, it's rough.
03:52 Yeah.
03:52 Well, our heart goes out to you, because that can't be easy,
03:55 especially when people are watching
03:56 and it's being recorded.
03:57 But speaking of recordings, this Friday, it's the reunion.
04:00 And one of your cast mates said that they wanted
04:02 to see you in the hot seat.
04:04 So let's take a look at that.
04:07 Where does that leave us with the Kyle Mauricio thing?
04:10 About--
04:11 Talking about our real lives.
04:12 Now that they're separated, Kyle was on this show
04:15 on premiere night and answered every question I had for her.
04:18 That's good.
04:18 So--
04:19 Yeah.
04:20 Will we do the reunion next Friday?
04:22 As somebody who got eviscerated--
04:24 Yes.
04:24 --I would like to see everybody get the same treatment.
04:27 OK.
04:28 All right.
04:29 Great.
04:30 How do you work through that?
04:31 And how do you become friends with somebody
04:33 again after they say things like that?
04:35 That's always been really hard for me to understand.
04:37 I know.
04:38 Well, I am someone who likes to move past things.
04:42 And I am a person who forgives and forgets.
04:45 With Erica, in all the years she's been on the show
04:49 and she's been my friend, she's never stabbed me in the back.
04:53 She's always been supportive.
04:54 And I really trust her and I consider her a friend.
04:57 And I honestly-- I'm not going to lie-- that stung.
05:00 It hurt me because I'm just having a hard week as it is.
05:02 So I was a little sensitive when I heard that.
05:05 But I believe that she went through such a hard time
05:07 last year that was just her-- she was just kind of saying,
05:11 you basically tortured me to torture everybody the same.
05:14 So that's how I choose to take that.
05:16 Have you guys spoken since this?
05:18 No, but she did give me a heads up.
05:20 I texted her not knowing.
05:21 I said, oh, you look so beautiful on "Watch
05:23 Happens Live."
05:24 And then she said, by the way, I wasn't very nice in the after
05:27 show.
05:28 And I thought she meant it at somebody else.
05:29 And I was like, oh, tell me.
05:30 [INTERPOSING VOICES]
05:31 I don't know.
05:33 You know, it's crazy.
05:34 We've seen what "Housewives" has done for your mom's career,
05:38 for your dad's business, for your family.
05:40 I'm wondering, would you ever pick up a diamond yourself?
05:46 I can't say no.
05:47 I mean, as you know, I just filmed for "Buying Beverly
05:52 Hills" season two.
05:53 So now that I've done that, I feel like I could maybe do
06:01 this.
06:02 Wait, so you like the camera now?
06:03 Yeah, it's something to consider.
06:04 I'm not going to say I like the camera,
06:06 but I'm getting more comfortable.
06:08 She is the shade queen on "Buying Beverly Hills"
06:10 that I-- she really is.
06:11 Well, let's talk about that, too,
06:13 because you said that you were filming with your dad.
06:15 So what has that been like?
06:16 Is it different filming with mom versus dad?
06:19 It is different.
06:20 I mean, "Buying Beverly Hills" is all about the agency
06:23 and real estate and work relationships.
06:27 So it's less drama, but it's been really fun
06:31 to film with my family.
06:32 And I'm learning a lot and getting
06:36 more comfortable with the camera.
06:37 So it's been a great experience.
06:39 I can't wait.
06:40 Final question.
06:40 I know you said that you've shared a lot in your 14
06:43 years on camera.
06:45 Is there one thing you wish you could just take back and put
06:48 in the vault and never have shown again on "Bravo"?
06:51 Oh my gosh.
06:52 Well, I mean, I have a number of things.
06:54 But I would say, you know, the limo scene, season one.
06:59 I probably would scratch a lot of this season, too.
07:04 I would scratch a lot of what took place this season
07:06 and just sort of forget about it.
07:07 Well, we have enjoyed it.
07:08 And we always are here.
07:10 Thank you guys so much for coming to join us.
07:11 "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,"
07:13 it airs Wednesday at 8 on Bravo.
07:15 And "We Are Family" also airs Wednesdays on Fox.
