VISUALLY DISTURBED - Experimental short about Autism and Way of Seeing Things

RATED PG (Parental Guidance)

Hi guys, during my last year at university, I did an experimental short film in experimental film class. Using quick editing and brightness techniques, I aim to convey my feeling of being in a smooth space. However other things such as cracks, flashing lights and metal poles can suddenly evoke new feelings. This can make other people feel claustrophobic, unsettling and it often feels like hands, claws or spikes are poking at our skin.

As a neurodivergent dude, I have to deal with this all the time and I don't like smooth spaces ruined by something else. I might not notice this but my brain does and at times I do feel uncomfortable.

SYNOPSIS

An autistic boy doing schoolwork looks at a couple of vents. This reminds him that he is startled and overwhelmed at messy spaces.
