Ford is increasing production of the Bronco SUV and Ranger pickup truck at its Michigan Assembly Plant. At the same time, Ford is reducing production of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck to one shift from two at its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan. The changes will impact around 1,400 employees at the Rouge plant, with around half expected to transfer to other Ford plants. Sales of the Lightning were up 55% in 2023, but vehicles have not been selling as quickly recently, while Bronco and Ranger sales declined last year.
