"In the Name of the People" is the most anticipated anti-corruption themed TV-drama of China in 2017. Its plot revolves around a young chief of the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s investigation into corruptions in a fictional Chinese province. All the story arcs are based on real-life events. The revelation and insight provided by this show into the political system of China is unprecedented. Hailed by western media as China’s “House of Cards”, the series enjoyed huge popularity in China since its premier and garnered 350 million views from the pilot episode alone.
