Bachelor Peter Weber Teases 'Up and Down' Relationship With RHOA's Phaedra Parks on 'Traitors' Season 2

00:03 When you went into it, who was someone you maybe were anticipating was going to be

00:08 the most intimidating or strategic, and who was maybe someone who surprised you

00:12 during your time at the castle?

00:14 Phaedra.

00:15 - Oh, yeah. - Phaedra for all the answers.

00:18 I was just like, "Oh my God, I can't wait to meet her, but also I'm terrified of her,

00:22 and also, like, how do I even act around her?"

00:24 But she was—she surprised me because she's actually a warm person.

00:28 Well, Peter might have a different experience than I did.

00:31 - I liked Phaedra. - That trailer, man.

00:34 Yeah, Phaedra. I had a great time with Phaedra.

00:36 We had an up-and-down relationship.

00:39 Yeah, I've seen her a bunch on TV, so it was very cool to play with her,

00:42 and, you know, she's a sweetheart for the most part, so it was good.

00:47 All I can say, it's always the quiet ones and the ones that act too nice

00:51 that I had to be careful with. I learned that.

00:53 It's not always the loud ones. It's not always the ones that look like a traitor,

00:58 but I would say the ones that are a bit too nice, you know, you've got to be careful with.

01:03 How did a show like The Bachelor prepare you for this, if at all?

01:06 Not at all. This—not at all.

01:10 And I actually remember—I learned very quickly doing this show.

01:15 I loved it so much because it was the exact opposite of The Bachelor,

01:19 and The Bachelor was a type of show where I went into—

01:22 obviously, you're leading with your heart. It's all emotion-based.

01:26 And this show required you to do the exact opposite and not—

01:30 and completely detach from your heart and any emotion,

01:32 to not let that cloud your judgment in any way,

01:35 and just have it be just a purely mental game.

01:37 So it was very different, no similarities whatsoever, but I enjoyed it like no other.

01:43 Ekansu, obviously Love Island, a little bit similar with the dating,

01:46 but has some competitiveness in it.

01:49 How did Love Island prepare you for The Traitors?

01:52 Listen, in Love Island, I was very good at reading people's minds,

01:55 and I knew who was faking it to make it, and I knew who was playing the game,

01:59 and I also knew who was genuine and wasn't genuine.

02:02 So for me, I used all the traits and qualities from Love Island,

02:05 and I took it into this game.

02:07 However, like Peter said, this is totally different from bikinis and sunbathing.

02:11 It's totally in a castle. You've got Harry Potter vibes.

02:14 It feels all eerie. Everyone's onto everyone. You feel paranoid.

02:18 You don't know who to trust. You become crazy, almost, like—

02:21 But it's so fun because I love sort of like this dark, like, games to play, you know?

02:25 It's good mind games because everyone plays mind games nowadays, right?

02:29 Everyone does. You always get manipulated every day, unfortunately.

02:32 But it was fun, and I love the U.S. The U.S. cast are great, so it was nice to make new friends.

02:38 Michelle, I feel like the MTV, that crew, has a little bit of an advantage, you know?

02:43 Maybe you've played in challenges and stuff before.

02:45 Do you think people coming from a big brother or a challenge have a little bit more of an edge

02:49 than maybe someone who was on a show for love?

02:52 Well, you would think, yes. But in my case, I mean, the two guys, whenever I saw them,

02:58 I was like, "Why? Out of all the people on MTV, these two?"

03:01 I mean, we don't have the best paths, CT and Bananas and I,

03:05 so I felt like it was sort of a disadvantage, to be honest.

03:09 You know, here's the thing. So I didn't— I understand that people are making this—

03:13 I didn't— I didn't know that me and, like, Michelle had this thing, this drama, this beef.

03:18 I didn't— What I remember from Trishelle was that Trishelle was on the first Vegas season of The Real World.

03:24 This was like the pinnacle. And I was the season right after her,

03:28 coming into this new chapter in my life, and I'm doing the show, I'm doing Traders,

03:33 and I see familiar faces. "Oh, Trishelle. Oh, Bananas."

03:37 To me, it was like a safe space for me. So I— Yeah.

03:43 Yeah, to me, I just— I hope that, you know, I hope they both continue to be a safe space for me.

03:49 Yeah. So going in, I was just like, "I am in over my head for sure."

03:54 Like, I literally just got done filming Love Island, and 20 days later, you're like,

03:58 you're going to Scotland, you're going to a castle.

04:00 And, like, a year ago, I thought— I'm at a fast-food restaurant while doing my undergrad.

04:05 I was like, "Never gonna see the world. I'm just gonna go to my graduate degree."

04:09 And now I'm seeing the world, and now I'm with these iconic legends in a castle in Scotland.

04:13 Like, how did I get here? And that was just absolutely amazing.

04:16 But my strategy going in was like, I really wanted to be a faithful,

04:20 so I was hoping I'd be selected as a faithful.

04:22 And then I just wanted to prove to myself that maybe I could figure out who the Traders were,

04:27 while also, like, maybe befriending a Trader without even knowing it,

04:30 so that way I could get carried to the end. It was kind of my goal,

04:33 was maybe find the friend Trader that would save me and not murder me,

04:37 and carry me all the way to the end. That was kind of my hoping and dreams going into it.

04:41 Is there anything that people might be surprised to know about life in the mansion or Alan Cummings?

04:47 Alan Cummings actually does not— is not as well-dressed as you think he is,

04:51 because I actually was— I actually had a better wardrobe than him the entire time.

04:56 So, you know, you know how they say, like, the camera adds 10 pounds?

05:00 It takes, like, 10—

05:02 I'm calling bulls***. I'm calling bulls***.

05:05 Alan was— Alan was the utmost professional.

05:08 And he was right behind him. Johnny was right behind him.

05:12 Okay, so I will say the castle is a very beautiful, old, cold place.

05:18 Because I don't think I was ever as cold as I was anywhere else.

05:21 It's just such a— it's just so big and just cold and airy and kind of spooky.

05:26 Yeah. Yeah.

05:27 I will say this. I've been on a lot of shows where secrecy is, like—

05:32 they're like, "Oh, we got to keep a secret."

05:33 I've never been on a show before where they kept secrecy,

05:37 and they made it such a crazy top priority than they did here.

05:41 Like, I literally felt like I was in the witness protection program every day I was leaving.

05:44 They're like, "Put a potato sack on your head and a blindfold,

05:48 and we're going to drive the wrong way on purpose so you don't know where we're going.

05:51 And then, even when you get to the hotel, we're going to, like,

05:54 take you through the back stairwell and lock you in your room."

05:57 I'm like, "Jesus, all right, well."

05:59 It was— it was very serious.

06:00 Yeah. It was very serious.

06:02 Deontay and John, as our non-reality stars of the group,

06:06 how familiar were you with this cast going in, and what did you expect from this show?

06:11 I didn't know any particular one on this show,

06:14 so I was very open-minded with going on to the show

06:20 and just to see who I would meet on there.

06:22 And I was very pleased to see all the participant that was there, you know.

06:30 To meet certain people I got close to, to certain people.

06:34 I don't think I disliked anyone on the show, to be honest.

06:38 You know, everybody was unique, and they had their own different thing

06:42 going on about themselves personally and in their profession as well.

06:47 So I was very delighted to be there and be a part of it and to meet so many great people.

06:52 Sarah, I think Us Weekly is in its 47th year, if I remember correctly.

06:57 I think you were founded in 1977.

06:59 So you've got quite a lineage.

07:01 What did I think about it?

07:02 Well, I suppose I knew I would struggle on the missions.

07:07 I knew that, partly because of age.

07:09 I knew that I'd be a bit slow, and it was just a question of trying to do my best,

07:13 but I wasn't expecting to win any shields.

07:16 And I knew when I saw the people I was with,

07:19 almost to a man and a woman, they were going to be better than me.

07:22 But I didn't have a problem with that.

07:24 What was the other thing that struck me?

07:26 I didn't know the reality TV people, to be honest.

07:29 I knew of Deontay, very much so.

07:31 I didn't know the people from the reality TV world.

07:35 I was very struck by how skilled game players they were.

07:42 I would use that expression.

07:44 Several of them were very experienced and skilled game players.

07:48 They knew about gaming strategy.

07:50 You might think a politician would.

07:53 Not really.

07:54 Not really.

07:55 In my world, we're dealing with people and making judgments about people

07:58 we've known for usually months, years, sometimes decades.

08:03 So I could judge them.

08:06 But I was having to make judgments about people that I was meeting for the first time.

08:10 I didn't know at all.

08:11 Most of whom struck me as mighty smart.
