00:00 The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration was successful in delivering assistance to Filipinos affected by the earthquake in Japan
00:09 because of the built-up health desk.
00:11 That's what Noel Talacart predicted.
00:13 The lives of Filipinos affected by the earthquake in Japan that happened this new year are back to normal.
00:22 This was explained by Overseas Workers Welfare Administrator Head Arnel Ignacio, who quickly became the government's spokesman for the affected OFWs.
00:33 This includes 157 Filipinos who were temporarily sent to the evacuation centers in Ichikawa.
00:42 All of them have returned to their homes.
00:45 That's a quick address. They are all leading their normal lives already.
00:53 Ignacio was happy that no one was hurt or that a large number of people were saved because of the New Year's earthquake.
01:02 He was also quick to respond to the Japanese government's response to the affected OFWs.
01:08 Because of this, he was able to quickly provide assistance to the Filipinos there.
01:13 Japan responds quickly to crises like this.
01:17 You just have to think about it and the problem will be solved.
01:20 According to the leadership of the Department of Migrant Workers or DMW,
01:25 one of the reasons why the Philippines was able to successfully deliver assistance to the Filipinos in Japan after the earthquake was caused
01:32 was the built-up health desk.
01:34 That's why the coordination between the DMW and OWA in the Japanese government was good.
01:40 We are ready to support the DMW and OWA.
01:44 I said that our action was good that we had a Japanese desk.
01:48 That was connected to our OWA health desk.
01:52 Meanwhile, Ronald De Los Santos, the new and 38th National President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Philippines,
02:02 said that their group was doing fundraising for the Filipinos affected by the earthquake in Japan.
02:08 He said that they have already reached an agreement with the OWA regarding this.
02:12 I also talked to our OWA director, Brother Arnel Ignacio,
02:17 and we, the Eagles assigned in Japan, are the ones who are tracing
02:23 who are the brothers and sisters or whoever are the Filipinos affected by the earthquake.
02:31 He is willing to help us through the agency.
02:36 According to the OWA and DMW, there are no Filipinos who need medical attention.
02:42 All of them are healthy.
02:45 Noel Talacay for the nation.
