00:00 Morning Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star. I'm speaking to you from Errington Avenue in the Arborthorn area
00:05 where reportedly last night there might have been a shooting at around the 9.30am area.
00:09 As you might be able to see behind me, a very, very large area of this neighbourhood has been cordoned off by police.
00:15 We've got a block of no less than about half a dozen police officers in the area and quite a few cars too.
00:21 It's an extraordinarily large area to see taped off to be honest.
00:24 We've been speaking to residents and they say that around 9.30pm last night one lady said she heard between five or six shots she claims.
00:32 She said at the time she wasn't sure if it was fireworks or not, she didn't hear any screaming or else.
00:36 So she kind of put it out of her mind only for her to look out her window not too long later and find there was a massive police scene being set up.
00:43 They arrived without sirens too, they seem to have arrived just on blue lights and not causing too much of a commotion.
00:48 In the meantime it seems to be quite a calm scene. In the meantime it's very, very cold otherwise.
00:53 The police are yet to put out a statement or formalise what we've heard earlier but that's the statement we've had so far from residents anyway.
00:59 They might have heard some shots last night followed by this very large police scene we've got here this morning.
01:04 We're speaking to police for more information this time and we'll be back with you with any updates as we get them.
