00:00 Well, the problem of Russia and Ukraine has, again, a long history.

00:09 It has a context.

00:10 It has--you can identify the wrongs, the rights.

00:21 And at the end of the day, I hope the world will--in the ways it has been working together

00:31 or differently, we should find a solution and go back to a normal situation.

00:43 I hope that time will come when--.

00:48 So--but for now, it is clear the intensity of the fighting between Russia and Ukraine

01:05 increases the crisis that affect the rest of the world, starting with those people neighboring

01:16 that area.

01:20 Africa is affected in many ways by--.

01:24 There's already talk of food crisis, rising fuel prices and fertilizer.

01:41 Those who are getting plenty of those things from either Russia or Ukraine, things are

01:49 not flowing as well as before, and therefore naturally.

01:56 So you see inflation attacking different economies.

02:01 Because of that, you see prices, the area of many things, rising.

02:12 So Rwanda and Africa are affected as much, or if not even more than others.

02:24 Now, the issue for me, I want to look at it as a crisis that for some reasons or in some

02:37 way must come to an end.

02:39 But how, of course, is still the biggest question.

02:46 The question of for me saying this one is wrong, this one is right here, there.

02:54 In the end, I think doesn't provide a solution for me or for Rwanda, or doesn't even contribute

03:05 much.

03:09 So we hope the international system in its way of working and dealing with the problems,

03:16 a solution can be found and at least minimize the damage caused by war and people dying

03:28 and then economies being affected.

03:32 As Rwanda, we have very little to contribute to that one way or the other.

03:37 So we tend to look at it and prepare for its effects and try to survive that.

03:48 But also working together on the continent of Africa, we need to find a way of making

04:00 our economies resilient and making survival in such a crisis possible.
