00:00 OK, so everyone's ready?
00:14 Pete?
00:15 No.
00:16 Come on.
00:17 Come on, mate.
00:18 OK, Pete Stevenson, if you'd like to leave us off.
00:26 Vincent, good evening, what are your thoughts on that game, please?
00:32 Look, we played against a top side, so I don't think the scenario of the game was too bad
00:41 in terms of being in the game and then having a late push to get a result.
00:52 We had our moments, you can't prevent them from having a moment because they're a top
00:55 side, but we had our moments as well.
01:02 The team fights, the team's alive, the team is entertaining, it just lacks the little
01:09 bit of final touch at the moment to reward ourselves, but I keep saying to you guys that
01:15 I see these guys work every single day and I have no doubt that they will make that step
01:21 at some point.
01:22 Was that half-time to them because it felt like it could have been a lot more than one
01:27 minute?
01:28 Yeah, look, I think it was a game where if you look at how dominant Liverpool was in
01:34 the first half, it'll tell you one side of the story, but in the first half as well I
01:39 felt that we had big, big transition opportunities where we just don't play the last ball well
01:44 or we deal with 1v1 situations quite well where we beat our man or we get past people,
01:50 so I did feel that was already in the first half, but we probably weren't as solid as
01:57 we needed to be to benefit from that.
01:59 Then the second half was a bit of everything, we were a little bit more solid and then we
02:04 had more moments as a result of it and then we looked dangerous the entire second half.
02:09 How do you rate Liverpool compared to other teams?
02:18 It's a tough team, there's no doubt.
02:25 You play against the top sides and what's really apparent, especially in this league,
02:31 is that every team at the top has got either a different style, a different idea behind
02:37 it, different strength, and Liverpool have got different strengths than Tottenham or
02:40 Arsenal or City, but they're a top side and to be a top in a Premier League you have to
02:47 have top players.
02:48 I think the funny thing is I was kind of thinking of my days when I played against probably
02:54 one of the greatest sides they've had in recent history, and in terms of quality I think the
03:02 future will tell, but in terms of intensity they are getting back to the levels that I've
03:07 known when I was facing them as a player and then they're very dangerous, very difficult
03:11 to play against.
03:12 Do you think they went top after this result, will they stay there until the end of the
03:17 season?
03:18 I don't know, and to be frank I'll allow myself to focus on the other side of the table for
03:24 now.
03:25 Just to work on James Trafford, he was an impressive showing for you.
03:30 Yeah, it's the same as it usually is.
03:33 We're lucky to have two good goalkeepers, I think every team in the Premier League has
03:37 that, but I said it before, I think England is quite lucky to have a young goalkeeper
03:47 like him coming through the ranks.
03:50 It's a matter of time, but now it's just the consistency of performances, he's just got
03:55 to keep doing this and from our side we're going the other way, we have to make sure
04:00 that we score our chances as well.
04:02 Can I just ask, just to clear up with Nathan Redmond, he came up, sat back down, but he
04:11 didn't look too happy, was he fully ready to come on?
04:14 No, I can be fully transparent, it was very simple, I said, "If Lyle's done, you're coming
04:21 on," and then there was a foul, he sat down, had a breather, so I'm like, "Hold on a little
04:27 bit," and that gives you 45 seconds to recover, so you might get another burst.
04:32 But I was very open about this, and Nathan is a top, top professional in my squad, and
04:38 I said exactly that to him and he understood.
04:41 Thanks, Mike.
04:42 Matt and then Jason.
04:44 Jürgen, Sander Berg picked up his fifth booking, how big a miss will it be to get to Villa?
04:49 Massive, yeah.
04:53 But OK, there'll be other games after Villa that are important, so...
04:58 I'd rather he didn't miss the game, but if I have to pick a game to miss,
05:03 then maybe that's not the worst one to miss, in all honesty.
05:06 Paul.
05:08 You said earlier about the final touch to reward yourselves will come in time,
05:16 are you looking to January to help back in terms of new players arriving,
05:20 or do you think the answer is a season line within the squad of their own?
05:24 The problem is that final touch in the Premier League.
05:29 What we're looking at is, down the bottom of the league, that's Solanke,
05:34 that's Jimenez from Fulham, that's the level we're talking about that you need for the Premier League.
05:39 So to go out in the market and find that level of players for us,
05:43 unless Jürgen wants to do us a Christmas present after a few of the guys he left out
05:50 of the squad today, other than that, I think we have to be realistic.
05:54 The biggest way for us to progress is to see the progression in the players we have,
05:58 but if there's something smart we can do, we'll obviously be open to that.
06:03 Just going back to James, is it always going to be a case of time for him to adapt to the league
06:10 and get to this consistent level, because he's now keeping you engaged, winning you points?
06:14 Yeah, I think with all the young players as well, what I want to make sure of
06:19 is, in fact, doing the opposite, not really making it about him.
06:24 He's one of the players. You can make it about Odubacar today,
06:27 we can make it about... He just has to continue, that's the job.
06:32 And I think as well, just a reminder that this club,
06:39 because obviously Liverpool's a great club, but this club has its own greatness as well,
06:45 in terms of how calm a club it is, how stable a club it is, the type of environment it is.
06:50 You see as well the fans, how they get behind the team, behind the players,
06:54 it's a really good club, and these players are entertaining.
06:58 I would pay to come and watch them, they just have to keep working hard,
07:03 and that's what we protect, we make sure they work hard,
07:05 we make sure they don't get the chance to start drifting.
07:10 And then you'll see these guys will hopefully also help us to go a level up in the future,
07:16 and hopefully tomorrow, but they've made so much progress since the start of the season already.
07:22 Happy, everyone. Thank you all the best.
07:24 Thank you.
07:26 Thank you.
