00:00 The way of diplomacy of the country in China must be changed
00:05 amid the repeated harassment of the Philippine ships in the West Philippine Sea.
00:11 According to President Bongbong Marcos,
00:13 it seems that China is not paying attention to what the traditional diplomacy of the Philippines is doing.
00:19 He pointed that out by JP Soriano and Maris O'Malley.
00:27 If it cannot be discussed, use other methods.
00:31 This is the direction that President Bongbong Marcos wanted to go after the repeated harassment of the ships in China
00:38 by our ships in the Bajo de Masinlok and Ayungin shore.
00:42 According to President Marcos in an interview with Japanese media,
00:45 until now, the traditional way of diplomacy is what we use to address China.
00:51 And whenever there are incidents of harassment,
00:53 what we do is to send a note verbal or a demarche to the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Beijing,
00:59 but there is still no change.
01:01 The President described the current diplomatic efforts in China as heading in a poor direction.
01:07 We need to think of a new step or have a paradigm shift.
01:12 The President said that we do not want to end up in violence.
01:16 According to the President, we need to step up our actions towards China
01:21 to address the West Philippine Sea, especially the affected fisheries.
01:27 China is ready to change its position on the South China Sea through dialogue and consultation.
01:36 China will not close the door for a proper dialogue in the Philippines.
01:42 But at the same time, China has again minimized the recent incidents involving their coast guard and Philippine sea vehicles.
01:52 It is just a fault of the Philippines.
01:55 According to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines,
01:58 Chinese Ambassador Wang Xilian is doing his job to improve the relationship between China and the Philippines.
02:06 The Chinese Embassy hopes that next year, the relationship between China and the Philippines will benefit more for the Filipinos and the Chinese.
02:18 For GMA Integrated News, J.P. Soriano.
02:22 Maris Umali, Nakatutok, 24 Hora.
