Rain and damaging winds affecting Far North Queensland
  • 4 months ago
The rainfall has been huge from cyclone Jasper in parts of far north Queensland. One spot in the Daintree had 620mm in the 24 hours to 9am and several places around cairns have had another 100mm since 9am this morning. Ex- cyclone is slowly tracking inland over Cape York Peninsula. There are concerns it could intensify again to cyclone strength when it crosses the gulf of Carpentaria over the weekend.
