A driver who was caught up in the 150mph Tennessee tornado has revealed the aftermath - including his home which has been destroyed.

Cameron McNeil, 25, was driving home to Clarksville, Tennessee, when he got caught in the storm.

Cameron said around 200 homes have been destroyed - including his own which was impaled by a huge piece of wood.

Videos taken today (11) show the large piece of wood that came through the wall of Cameron's home and neighbouring houses completely destroyed.

Cameron, an army officer, said: "It looked like a storm. I was 10 minutes from my apartment when it touched down - I was just trying to get away from it.

"People started pulling over and power lines were coming down around me - I was trying not to get hit.

"In the video you can see transformers blowing up and my windshield getting cracked and things going everywhere."

The tornado has devastated the community of Clarksville.

Six people have died, more than 60 have been injured and hundreds of homes have been destroyed.

Cameron has had to move in with a friend after a piece of wood flew into his home, breaking down a wall and smashing a window.

He said: "I didn't even get a tornado warning. It took me by surprise.

"My apartment is damaged. A piece of wood flew through the wall.

"Some buildings in my complex are missing a roof. I am going to have to find a new place to live - I don't think I will be let back in.

"There are a lot of places providing free food and temporary lodging for now."
