00:00 I finally had to come to that hard truth
00:04 and file for a divorce, and it was embarrassing.
00:08 Shannon Doherty says she learned
00:10 of her now ex-husband's alleged affair
00:12 right before having brain surgery.
00:15 It was like maybe two or three days apart.
00:18 So yeah, it was pretty brutal.
00:21 I went in after I found out
00:24 that my marriage was essentially over,
00:27 that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years.
00:32 The Beverly Hills 90210 alum
00:34 getting candid on the debut of her podcast,
00:36 Let's Be Clear, as she navigates her divorce
00:39 from Kurt Izwuryenko after 11 years of marriage
00:43 amid her battle with stage four cancer.
00:46 I couldn't go into that surgery with him there.
00:50 I felt so betrayed.
00:53 At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved
00:57 by someone that I loved with all my heart.
00:59 I've been thrown a lot of curve balls
01:03 and ones that I never expected in a million years.
01:06 I think for me also doing the podcast right now,
01:09 it seems to be very cathartic.
01:11 I also spoke to the girlfriend of two years
01:16 that he cheated on me with, which is a whole other episode.
01:22 You have to have a sense of humor.
01:24 You have to.
01:25 Without it, it becomes very depressing.
01:29 This year has been extremely tough for me.
01:31 The infidelity claim comes after Shannon revealed in June
01:35 that her stage four breast cancer had spread to her brain.
01:38 He's like, "We're gonna get through this.
01:40 We're gonna get through it as a family."
01:41 That's Shannon praising Kurt for being by her side
01:45 one year after she first shared her diagnosis.
01:48 ETs reached out to Kurt for comment.
01:51 Just going through the journey with her
01:52 and seeing what's around the corner tomorrow.
01:54 If you share 14 years together and you cheated,
01:58 I didn't walk away right away.
02:00 I couldn't.
02:01 I was so confused.
02:04 And I was also on steroids
02:08 and a lot of stuff from brain surgery
02:10 because they didn't want my brains as well.
02:13 Where maybe there was a situation in your past
02:18 where you said, "I can't.
02:20 I'm never gonna forgive and I'm not gonna forget."
02:22 But then while talking about it on the podcast,
02:25 you're like, "Eh, okay, release it now.
02:28 I don't really care as much about it."
02:31 Speaking with ET Wednesday,
02:32 Shannon says her new podcast chronicles the good
02:35 and the bad of her life story.
02:38 Just how personal are you getting in this podcast?
02:41 I get very personal.
02:42 It's basically if somebody wrote a memoir,
02:45 I'm just doing the audio version
02:47 that every week is sort of a new chapter, if you will.
02:49 It's all about the past, the present, the future,
02:52 what happened in my three marriages.
02:56 When it comes specifically to Kurt,
02:58 Shannon says she doesn't feel responsible
03:01 for the marriage crumbling.
03:02 I was, you know,
03:06 I'm horrified that I can't keep a relationship together.
03:09 I think it's like a reflection on me.
03:12 Although I kinda like this one, eh, I don't know.
03:16 I think it's on him.
03:17 How do you even want to love again
03:19 after experiencing such betrayal?
03:21 Well, you know, because I've loved in the past
03:26 and even though it didn't work out,
03:27 it was still really beautiful.
03:29 You know, even with the marriage that is now over,
03:34 there were some great times,
03:37 just because he made poor choices that, you know,
03:41 hurt me greatly, does not mean that every man is like that.
03:47 I believe that there, listen,
03:49 my father was the most loyal, stand-up, honest,
03:53 amazing human being that ever walked this earth.
03:55 I believe that there are still men out there like that.
03:58 There are.
03:59 I just didn't find one this time around.
