COP28: Activists say frustration levels are high

As politicians and experts debate on the past and upcoming challenges to be aligned with the 1.5°C Paris agreement target, climate activists outside COP28 in Dubai say not enough is being done to combat the climate crisis.

00:38 To do that, there`s going to have to be substantial progress on reducing emissions and creating

00:45 a trajectory of decarbonization that brings us to alignment with 1.5 by 2030.

00:53 So, either we can stay mired in debates about language or we can find practical ways to

01:10 People`s frustration levels are really high about this conference.

01:14 In fact, some have lost any hope in this process.

01:18 But we are here because we believe we cannot solve the problem if governments do not act.

01:27 It`s not just up to us.

01:29 The governments, those who are in power have to do something.

01:32 So, we are here to push them.

01:34 Activists are pushing for a complete phasing out of fossil fuels.

01:39 It is ambitious, but they say it is the only way to meet our climate warming crisis.
