00:00 If we fail our women and girls, climate action will fall short.
00:09 Recognizing this, the Philippines Department of Finance actively supports the mainstreaming
00:16 of gender initiatives in the mobilization of resources for climate adaptation and mitigation
00:23 programs.
00:25 And this requires three key elements.
00:28 First, we must recognize the differentiated needs, opportunities, and capacities between
00:35 women and men in climate action.
00:39 This entails a conscious effort to collect sex disaggregated data, which will allow us
00:45 to identify underlying inequalities that worsen vulnerability.
00:52 Second, we must ensure equitable participation of women and men in climate-related decision
01:00 making.
01:01 Women and girls should have a seat at the table as active movers of climate solutions
01:07 from inception to implementation to impact monitoring.
01:13 And third, we must secure gender equitable access to the resources and benefits that
01:19 we get from climate investments.
01:22 The dividends of climate finance ought to be shared by all.
01:28 The Fund supports game-changing projects that elevate the role of women in building climate
01:33 resilience.
01:34 Among these are the Mangrove Rehabilitation Project, the development of the agroforestry
01:42 industry, and the establishment of climate resiliency field schools.
01:48 Thank you.
