RNLI volunteers in Skegness say they are overwhelmed by the toys already donated to their annual appeal to give back and bring a smile to the faces of less fortunate children.

00:08 launched at the weekend.

00:10 Brad, we seem to have quite a lot of toys already. Tell me all about this year's appeal.

00:15 So we did this last year and this is our second year doing it. We're getting toys from the

00:20 community for the food bank in Skegness at the storehouse as well as the Derbyshire Miners

00:25 Children's Centre. For us it's really important to give back to our community and we've already

00:29 been amazed in just two days of what's arrived. We've got bags of teddies, loads of toys,

00:34 some Lego and we're hoping that we can put a smile on a child's face this Christmas.

00:39 Now when can people donate to the appeal?

00:42 So when the Hideout Cafe is open you can come into here which is in Compass Gardens or if

00:48 they're closed you can drop them off at the RNLI Lifeboat Station which has someone in

00:51 normally between 9 and 5 Monday to Friday. We'll just go to the Lifeboat Station or the

00:55 Cafe here in Compass Gardens, drop it off under our giving tree and next Sunday on the

01:00 9th when we close the toy drive we'll take them all to the food bank or Derbyshire Miners

01:05 Children's Centre.

01:08 To make sure children are not disappointed, the RNLI ask that when the toys are dropped

01:12 off they are not wrapped in festive paper.
