A businessman with the title ‘Datuk’ was among five men who were charged at the Johor Baru Magistrate’s Court on Monday (Dec 4) for trafficking ecstasy weighing over 23.5 kilogrammes in November.

00:23 No plea was recorded, however, as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
00:29 The three men, together with two other Myanmar men, were jointly charged with trafficking
00:34 the drugs in powder and pill forms at Taman Pase Buteh, Pase Gudang on November 27.
00:41 The charges, under Section 39(b)(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, carries a death
00:48 sentence or life imprisonment and not less than 15 strokes of the cane upon conviction.
00:55 The Court set January 23, 2014, for the charges to be read out to the two Myanmar nationals,
