We were there when Five Finger Death Punch played 'Lift Me Up' live in Birmingham with Rob Halford.

00:53 that was basically the idea. We wanted to do a surprise for you know Rob Halford is

00:58 from Birmingham so we figured this is gonna be a proper surprise. This is a lost show on

01:03 this European tour and I think this is the best way to finish it you know. Nobody knew.

01:09 Even our booking agent or management nobody knew that you know we asked Rob if we would come down

01:15 and again he's in Birmingham this is his hometown so nobody knew it was a complete surprise.

01:22 The song that we did together went number one you know in the States so it's a crown jewel.

01:46 We knew that Rob was a fan of the band because he did an interview on television and we heard

01:51 him saying that one of his favorite bands from the new crop is Five Finger Death Punch.

01:56 So as we were recording this last album there was a tune where basically the song that he ended

02:03 up singing on but we were talking about it in the studio and said hey this kind of have a little bit

02:08 of that old school metal you know 80s vibe a little bit you know a little bit Ozzy a little

02:13 bit Judas Priest maybe and we just had this wild idea like hey do you think you know if we would

02:18 reach out would he sing on this and it's a long shot like he it's you know it's his metal god

02:23 you know I'm pretty sure he's busy striking down the non-believers in somewhere you know what I

02:27 mean throwing lightning and you know whatever metal gods do and our manager you know reached

02:34 out and he actually listened to the song and he was like oh my god I love the song I want to be

02:38 involved and he flew into Las Vegas where we were recording so he actually he recorded this song

02:42 right in front of us so we were in the studio and he's singing in a booth so I'm like if I get

02:46 strike down by lightning right now I'm good I did something good in life you know and it was pretty

02:54 amazing he was hanging out with us for a couple of days you know it was the tour stories and

02:59 whatnot he has I mean imagine he's been doing it since the 70s so

03:21 We are here like the third time this year you know and we keep coming back and pretty much

03:26 2014 we're gonna probably do about two three tours here it's in the works so it is going to happen

03:32 you can pretty much say it's a fact unless you know there is some situation going on in Kyiv so

03:38 unless we never make it out of there you know there's gonna be a Europe tour in March
