00:00 It's always a risk and I'm always,
00:02 every time I go in for anything,
00:04 I think, oh, Lord, please, you know,
00:06 let this all work out fine.
00:09 - Dolly Parton is getting real
00:10 about her journey with plastic surgery.
00:12 The 77-year-old music icon recently made an appearance
00:16 on "The Howard Stern Show,"
00:17 and she opened up about how she keeps her looks up.
00:20 - I'm not blowing smoke up your (beep)
00:21 you look (beep) fantastic.
00:23 - Well, thank you.
00:24 - And you know, you've never made a secret about,
00:26 you know, you'll do,
00:27 you'll take a nip and a tuck here and there.
00:29 So many people screw that up.
00:30 If I was gonna do something to myself,
00:32 I would go to your doctors.
00:34 You know what I mean?
00:34 Do people call you all the time and say,
00:36 "Dolly, how do you do it?"
00:38 - Oh, yeah, and I always say, just find the best doctors.
00:41 I even, some of my celebrity friends,
00:43 I give them the names of my,
00:45 of the doctors that I've used,
00:47 but you just gotta be very careful not to overdo it,
00:50 'cause you never know, anytime you go under the knife,
00:53 you could come out looking not good.
00:55 - Dolly also gave some helpful advice
00:57 when it comes to getting plastic surgery.
00:58 And also revealed some of the procedures she does
01:01 without overdoing it.
01:03 - You just never know how you're gonna heal.
01:05 You never know what's gonna go.
01:06 So you absolutely need to find the best doctors.
01:11 The most talked about doctors
01:13 are the ones highly recommended.
01:15 If you're gonna do anything about your face,
01:18 you can cover up stuff
01:19 if somebody screws up things on your body,
01:21 but boy, if you live with your face out there,
01:24 you gotta be careful.
01:25 So I try to do just little bits at a time.
01:28 I don't do like, you know, really big stuff.
01:31 And then I do a lot of, I do fillers,
01:33 Botox and Juvederm or whatever.
01:36 You know, just the fillers,
01:37 and just only when I have to, you know, do something.
01:40 And even then, I try to be careful.
01:43 - The country songstress has always been known
01:45 for her sparkling personality on the inside and out,
01:48 especially making bold statements with her fashion.
01:51 Access Hollywood's Kate Hoover sat down with Dolly
01:53 back in October to discuss her new book,
01:56 "Behind the Seams, My Life in Rhinestones."
01:59 And she described her sense of style
02:01 while also reflecting on some of her past iconic looks.
02:04 - My favorite thing about the book, Dolly,
02:07 is you've known exactly who you are
02:09 from since you were little.
02:10 How would you describe your signature style?
02:12 - Oh, I'm gaudy, I guess.
02:14 I'm now a fashionable gaud, you know,
02:17 or a little more defined gaud, but gaud, just the same.
02:21 I just like a lot when they came out with that saying,
02:24 less is more, and I thought, ooh, that does not apply to me.
02:28 Well, we said, I look totally artificial,
02:31 but I'd like to believe that I'm totally real,
02:33 for it counts.
02:34 - And Dolly's taken readers behind the scenes
02:37 in her new book that spotlights her most unforgettable looks
02:40 from the 1960s until now, as well as the woman
02:43 who had the earliest influence on her sense of style.
02:46 - I was always into the makeup and the clothes,
02:49 'cause I was impressed, as I've often said,
02:51 about the lady that was considered the town tramp
02:54 in our hometown, but I thought she was beautiful,
02:57 because she wore red nails, red lipstick,
03:00 she had piled up yellow hair, short skirts,
03:04 and she'd twist down the street,
03:05 and I wanted to be just like her.
03:07 (upbeat music)
03:10 (upbeat music)
03:13 (upbeat music)
03:16 (upbeat music)
03:18 (upbeat music)
