FBI, Interpol aid sought in tracing bomb hoax culprit

Bukit Aman is working with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Interpol in connection with the bomb hoaxes at several schools nationwide. 00:02 So far we have 51 police reports.

00:08 What we can see is that the increase is due to the reading of the email late.

00:16 It was spread at the same time, but the receiver's information was late.

00:24 So this thing keeps on running.

00:26 As the respected head of the state police has said, this has happened in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.

00:34 So this is nothing new, it's from outside of the country.

00:38 But the police will look at and take this threat seriously.

00:45 Because we don't want anyone to be caught in the thick of it,

00:51 to take this opportunity to threaten the country's army.

00:55 So the police will continue to visit every school that receives the threat

01:02 to ensure that there are no elements of sabotage or anyone who wants to be caught in the thick of it.

01:14 one of the investigations that we can do at this time is

01:19 to use their emails that are in the public domain.

01:26 So in this context of investigation, we have to ask for help from our friends from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI and Interpol.

01:36 Overall, we opened 10 investigation papers from all over the country.

01:42 We investigated Section 507, the Penal Code and Section 233, the Intercommunications and Multimedia Act 1998.

01:51 It's quite difficult to investigate when it comes to cybercrime.

01:55 This is considered a cybercrime as well, a threat,

01:58 because it's cross-border and extra-authoritarian and extra-judicial issues.

02:04 So as far as we are concerned at the moment,

02:07 since we cannot identify who is the perpetrators,

02:11 we cannot identify the motives until we find out who they are.

02:17 So at the moment, we cannot establish a motive.
