00:00 There needs to be a coalition formed.
00:01 Looking at this result, you could do it with three parties.
00:04 The only option really possible at the moment would be that
00:08 Geert Wilders joins forces with the VVD and with New Social Contract.
00:12 New Social Contract has said that it is open to that idea
00:16 last night after these election results came in.
00:18 Previously in the campaign, it has said it would not do that
00:20 because of Geert Wilders' viewpoints on, for example, Islam
00:24 and other things that they hold unconstitutional,
00:26 such as his desire to close mosques.
00:28 The VVD, which peeped open the door to working together with Wilders
00:32 over the summer, which some say is what led to his massive rise.
00:36 Previously, Mark Rutte had always said that there would be no way
00:39 he would work with Wilders.
00:41 She said on Tuesday that she would absolutely not join a cabinet,
00:45 which he heads because she wants a cabinet to be inclusive
00:48 for everyone in the Netherlands.
00:50 Now, yesterday, she hasn't said if she'll come back on that decision.
00:53 She said she doesn't think he can do it, but she holds the key.
00:56 If she doesn't join, there's no way that he'll be able to form a government.
00:59 So a lot of uncertainty here about what this formation talks will bring,
01:04 if there will be a new government
01:06 or if there will have to be new elections at some point, even
01:09 if they cannot figure it out.
01:11 But of course, Wilders says that, you know, he has this huge mandate.
01:14 He's willing to make it work.
01:15 He really wants there to be a coalition under him.
01:18 And he says, you know, people need to listen to what the voters have said.
01:22 People need to step over their own shadow, as he's put it.
01:25 So he's trying to show this milder side of himself,
01:27 which has really been winning the voters over.
01:29 But we have to be honest here.
01:30 This is a huge lurch to the right for the Netherlands.
01:33 Very strict policy on migration will have to come into place
01:36 to placate builders voters.
01:39 He has promised zero immigration.
01:41 And it seems that, you know, his linking of the housing crisis,
01:45 which is huge here, a shortage of 400000 homes to migration
01:48 has really paid off.
01:49 Voters have given him this huge mandate.
01:51 But the question remains, can he form a government?
01:53 and that is what we'll have to see in the next few days.
