Several of those wins were against fringe contenders from the UK, including Richard Dunn. His biggest win was against Duane Bobick, who was 40-1 at the time. G.G. Maldonado was a journeyman from Paterson New Jersey. He turned pro in 1971, and had shared a ring with Randy Neumann, Duane Bobick, John Denis and Gerry Cooney, losing to all of them by stoppage. He had a record of 12-7-2 with 3 KOs.
