00:00 Let's start with the 2026 World Cup qualifiers where Ghana take on Comoros later today in
00:05 Moroni. Both teams are levelled on three points after winning their respective games in the
00:11 opening round. But a victory for the Black Stars today will see the team top group eye
00:16 after Mali, who played with Central African Republic yesterday, the drew 1-1. Now, the
00:22 head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Eutin, he understands the task ahead.
00:27 Every game we play is a difficult game, whether we play at home in Ghana or we play away from
00:33 home. We are on the back of a win against Madagascar and we are conscious that Comoros
00:42 played very well on Friday against Central African Republic. So, our preparation has
00:48 been the same as it's always been. We have to prepare exactly the same for every single
00:54 game that we play. We know the difficulty of every game and we have to make sure that
01:00 we are prepared. Every game is different, so whatever results there have ever been in
01:08 the past, we always have to look at this next game as a one-off game, always. This is what
01:16 all our preparations have been for. We are on the back of a good win on Friday and so
01:22 are Comoros. So, both teams, I presume, will come into the game with good confidence, having
01:30 won their last game. Our preparations are for a very tough game against a Comoros team
01:36 that are playing at home and are on the back of a good win. All we can do is make sure
01:41 that we prepare ourselves for that. We know that to win tomorrow, we will have to play
01:49 at a good level. This we know and this we understand and this is what we have prepared
01:55 for. We know we're playing against a team that's in good form at the moment, but we
02:01 are also on the back of a good win. This is a completely different game. We know that
02:09 we will have to play at a good level. We are away from home and this is normal. We know
02:16 we have to play at a good level, but you always have to be confident as a team. Always.
02:21 Malili, the group at the moment with four points because they drew with Central African
02:27 Republic yesterday. Let's check out the results in the last 24 hours. Guinea-Bissau defeated
02:33 Djibouti by a goal to no. The Gambia sat at home and lost to Ivory Coast by two goals
02:38 to zero. Two wins now for Ivory Coast. Liberia also sat at home and lost to Equatorial Guinea.
02:45 They thumped Seychelles by five goals to no. Madagascar also emerged 3-0 winners over
02:51 Chad and then this particular game, Mali being held at home by Central African Republic.
03:01 Now back home, the Ghana Police Service have confirmed the arrest of Seyedu Moussa, who
03:05 is believed to be involved in the physical assault of Insulting the Man head coach Maxwell
03:09 Konodu on Sunday in their game against Bofocatano. Further investigations are ongoing.
03:15 The arrest follows the attack on the former Black Stars assistant coach and the caring
03:26 head coach of Ghana Premier League side and Sancho Man football club Maxwell Konodu by
03:31 supporters of Bofocatano following the Ghana Premier League game on Sunday at the Sunyane
03:36 Coronation Park. The incident, which happened moments after the goalless drawn game, saw
03:41 fans of the home side trooping into the inner perimeter, assaulting the head coach and some
03:47 fans of Insulting the Man. Maxwell Konodu was reportedly left unconscious and rushed
04:00 to the Sunyane Regional Hospital where he has since been receiving treatment. Hours
04:06 after announcing an manhandle for the suspect, the police have since arrested one Seyedu
04:11 Moussa alias Gaswan, who is believed to have participated in the physical assault on the
04:16 head coach. According to the police, the suspect is currently in custody, assisting with investigation,
04:23 while efforts are still ongoing to get the other suspect to face justice. Meanwhile,
04:28 the Ministry of Youth and Sports has strongly condemned the violent act, describing it as
04:33 reprehensible and one which must have no place in Ghana football. They also called on the
04:38 Ghana Football Association to work to enhance security at the various match venues. On their
04:43 part, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has also ordered a temporary ban
04:48 on Bofocatano from using the Sunyane Coronation Park as its home venue with immediate effect.
04:54 The decision, they say, has become necessary due to the unfortunate incident that occurred
04:59 after the matchday 11 fixture between Bofocatano and his centre-man. They also added that the
05:04 decision is in accordance with Ghana Football Association regulations and further directed
05:08 the competitions department of the association to determine the venue for the club's subsequent
05:13 home matches. Bofocatano have also since condemned the action by their fans and assured their
05:19 corporation to help bring perpetrators to book.
05:37 In a related development, at Santé Kotoko, they are facing a hefty fine of 80,000 Ghana
05:41 series from the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association after fans
05:46 of the club misconducted themselves during the clash against Nations FCS. A section of
05:51 aggrieved fans, displeased with a penalty call by the referee in the dying moments of
05:56 the game, destroyed seats at the stadium as well as throwing objects on the pitch. Meanwhile,
06:02 in a statement released by Kotoko, the club have expressed their disagreement with the
06:07 decision claiming the GFA disciplinary committee failed to consider the club's defence and
06:12 based its verdict solely on the match officials' report.
06:22 To action on the pitch and Samartex have held Great Olympics to a goalless draw at the Accra
06:26 Sports Stadium. It is the second time the visitors have picked up a point away from
06:31 home and their head coach Nouriel Nnamadou was very pleased with
06:56 the result. We saw the setup from your side 4-3-3 with your captain, Keyeke playing wide.
07:01 Were you impressed with his performance? Because usually we see him play in the middle. Today,
07:06 he started from the far left. Yeah, that's a tactical game. He sometimes, he wants to
07:09 move everywhere. So you need to give him a little free room because he's a hard working
07:14 guy and then so I didn't want to limit him that much. Just have to keep working. That
07:19 is football. As far as we didn't lose, we didn't score, but it will come because some
07:25 of the away games we've lost. So if you start picking one point, it means that there's progress.
07:32 I think we have to win. We just have to win and our home should be a fortress and hopefully
07:38 we will pick the three points, inshallah.
07:43 Seriously, I'm not impressed on you, honestly. If I tell you I'm impressed with the performance
07:52 in the first half, I'm telling lies. But well, in all things, you have to give thanks. So
07:59 I give thanks to the Almighty for what He has given me. You saw the first half, we should
08:05 have killed this game and my strikers squandered all the chances. So it's just unfortunate.
08:13 There's a Samaritan side that you coached last season. Do you think you couldn't identify
08:19 their flaws to help them?
08:23 When we were to start, I think you asked me about my team. But honestly, the team has
08:35 changed. Most of the players that I coached or I worked with are not in the game. Most
08:43 of them have been changed. So well, it's also a good side and I'm happy for what I saw from
08:53 them too.
08:54 That's your sports. We wish the Black Stars the best of luck against Comoros. My name
08:59 is Harun Ombarak and the EM Show continues.
