00:00 G'day, I'm Paul, the all-new Mazda BT50 and Isuzu D-MAX have just been launched.
00:04 Both of them come with a brand new 9-inch infotainment system.
00:07 Today I'm going to take you through a detailed review and run over some of the features that it comes standard with.
00:12 If you want to see some of our other infotainment reviews, you can click up here, but let's get stuck into this one.
00:16 So it's a 9-inch infotainment unit with shortcut buttons down the bottom,
00:21 and those shortcut buttons go straight to navigation, destination entry, maps, volume, audio, home, and then back.
00:28 So let's jump through the menus and see what it's like. We'll start off with navigation.
00:32 So this is the inbuilt navigation system. You can see that's sort of moving around pretty easily.
00:36 Let's try putting in a destination. My go-to is Melbourne Airport, so we'll see how quickly it allows us to put that in.
00:43 M-E-L-B-O-U-R-N-E, the suspense is killing me.
00:49 Airport, and then we'll do a search on that and see how it goes.
00:57 Ah, there you go, cool. So that's come up with everything there straight away, so that's really good.
01:01 Now, here is the exciting part. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, but it's wireless.
01:06 So this is the first dual-cab unit in this segment to have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
01:10 I'll show you what that looks like. Have a look at this. It is a full-screen integration, so it takes up the entire screen.
01:15 It's not boxed in, which a lot of these systems are. It's smooth and seamless as well.
01:20 And then you can use that with the car's voice recognition system.
01:22 So one push of this sends commands through your phone, and it means that you're going to get higher accuracy.
01:26 So you can send text messages while you're driving. You never really have to take your eyes off the road.
01:30 So it is exciting that this feature is going to be fitted as standard to the BT50 and also the D-MAX.
01:35 Now, in terms of the other functions you have here, audio, it comes with AM/FM/DAB+ digital radio.
01:42 So you have the full suite of audio controls. You can see the source list just here, radio, DAB+, Apple CarPlay.
01:48 And then hidden in the background there, you also have USB connectivity as well,
01:51 if you want to plug in a device to the car and play music from your mobile device.
01:55 Finally, we have a settings menu. In the settings menu, you can change all of the car's settings,
02:00 what it does when you connect a phone and all those preferences.
02:02 Plus, you have the ability to enable Wi-Fi within the infotainment system.
02:06 So that's going to be a great feature to have. And then also configure whether the camera has guidelines visible.
02:10 And finally, on the navigation, you can change everything from the guidance controls to whether it's going to pick the fastest or slowest route,
02:16 and what it does when traffic comes into effect.
02:18 So that's been your first look at the all-new infotainment system in the Mazda BT50 and the Isuzu D-MAX.
