00:00 There are plenty of collectibles to gather in Red Dead Redemption 2 and one of the more
00:07 mysterious ones are the rock carvings which are strange images engraved into the stones
00:12 found throughout the world. Here's where to find all 10.
00:21 This mission begins when you speak to Francis Sinclair, a stranger that you'll find outside
00:25 his cabin north-west of Strawberry. Once you've mailed him the 10th set of coordinates
00:45 you'll be able to complete this particular stranger mission by reading his invitation
00:49 and then visiting him again at this cabin. We'll start hunting for these near Strawberry
00:55 and work our way around the map anti-clockwise from west to east so you should be able to
01:00 pick them up in one long ride. The first is possibly the most awkward of
01:04 all of the rock carvings to actually collect. This one is located on the south-west shore
01:09 of Orangula Lake to the west of Strawberry itself. It's engraved on the highest rock
01:14 pile here but although you can get up close and personal you'll need to stand on the
01:17 shore for the prompt to actually appear. The second is near Mount Shan. Follow the
01:28 path that takes you towards the summit and keep following it until you're right under
01:33 the T on the map and the road makes a bit of a snake shape as it turns down the mountain.
01:37 Here you'll not only find some giant bones but a second rock carving on the right of
01:42 the rocks above the path. Next head to the cliffs of Limpini and head
01:51 to the southern end of them. Here, overlooking that burnt out settlement, recessed deep in
01:56 the cliff face you'll find your third rock carving.
02:11 For the fourth, head to the southern point of Moonstone Pond to the south of Grizzlies
02:16 East in Amberino. Then go towards the area where the ground rises to the south-east of
02:21 the pond. Make your way up the side using the little grass path and then aim for the
02:25 rocky outcrops beyond. Move past the first one and then make your way towards the second
02:34 large outcrop but duck down the path that juts off to the right before it. Follow the
02:42 grass around and you'll see the pyramid themed rock carving in the stones in front
02:59 of you. For the fifth one, head to the northern shore
03:00 of the Elysian Pool. From here head east and you'll see a rather large rock carving high
03:06 up on the jutting cliff to your left if you're on the path.
03:18 The sixth can be found east of Deer Cottage. Once you arrive here, follow the path up a
03:22 bit until you can access the rock face behind it. Move along the first level of the cliff
03:29 face and the rock carving is right there, just loitering above Deer Cottage.
03:49 The seventh is on a cliff face on a peak south-west of Bacchus Station and north-east of Fort
03:54 Wallace. Follow the road up to the north-east from Fort Wallace until you see an unmarked
03:58 path snake up a large hill. Head up here until you reach two stone peaks. Pass between them
04:10 and then follow the path around to the left. When the path splits, go downhill and the
04:21 rock carving is engraved onto the cliff to your left.
04:40 For the eighth one, follow the road that turns east above the sea in Cumberland Forest on
04:45 the map until you reach a broken rope bridge. Now turn back on yourself and make sure you
04:52 go up into the trees on the cliff above. Head to the edge and you'll see another ledge
05:04 below. Drop down there and then walk to the edge where you'll find the rock carving on
05:16 the cliff face to your left, directly above the rope bridges.
05:28 The ninth one is also near a wooden bridge. On the bank on the left-hand side of the Wynyard
05:33 Strait where the wooden bridge crosses it is the ninth rock carving, engraved on the
05:37 stone a few feet up the thin path from the bridge.
05:54 And finally to find the tenth rock carving, follow the map up into Mount Hagen until the
05:58 point is about to reach its natural conclusion. The rock carving is pretty obvious from the
06:02 path there on the rock face to your right.
06:14 So that's where to find all ten Red Dead Redemption 2 rock carvings. All that's left
06:18 to do now is send your findings back to Francis Sinclair. A note though, if you hand in all
06:22 ten coordinates at once, you'll have to retrieve your mail over a number of in-game
06:26 days. The first time you get it, you'll get the $10 reward and Kentucky Bourbon that
06:31 you would have got for handing in one set of coordinates and you'll also get the rock
06:34 statue that you get for handing in five. Then you'll have to go back again a little later
06:39 to collect Francis Sinclair's invitation letter. Once you have it, head back to Sinclair's
06:43 cabin near Strawberry to discover the true meaning of the rock carvings.
07:03 Oh, hello. Can I help you? Oh, I'm sorry for intruding. Mrs. Sinclair? Yes, how did you
07:12 know? I'm looking for your husband. My husband? Yeah. He's dead. He's been dead since just
07:19 before Francis was born one year ago. Your husband Francis is dead? No, this is Francis.
07:29 My husband Tom is dead. I'm a little confused. Yes, I think you are. What was your name?
07:39 That's not important. Excuse me. So what's actually happened here? Well, it
07:47 seems that Francis Sinclair is a baby now, but the guy you saw at the beginning of this
07:51 mission is also Francis Sinclair, but from the future. If you study all the documents
07:57 pinned up on the wall, which are the same images as the rock carvings, it seems like
08:01 Francis has been travelling through time portals and going on little adventures, but coming
08:05 back to this Wild West timeline to record them. Why is another question, as is the location
08:12 of the portal he's using now. Is it possible to find it in the world? Maybe. It's certainly
08:17 something to investigate and please let us know your theories in the comments below.
