One piece of info here on Rudolph Gut is incorrect. He is my 16th great grandfather (hi, RD Jr--we're distant cousins!) and I have done extensive research and even visited Ottenbach, Switzerland, where he lived. He was not a peasant--he owned a lot of land which was used for farming. The Groff Book, Vol. 2 by Jane Evans Best states on p. 33 that he was "considered a rich man in 1412 when he paid 15 shillings tax to the city of Zurich." Gut/Guth was eventually anglicized to Good in the US.
